Any news on whether tf con will be returning to the US?

Chicago was a first year show, it's to be expected that it wouldn't be as big as Toronto which has been going on for years.
Come to Toronto, you will not be disappointed.

PPpssttt Atlanta.. Delta hub…
I can dream.
Trailbreaker77
Wow, really?
I was bummed I couldn't make it to this show I really wanted to attend maybe next year. I guess that all depends on the location though, I'm not planning on going to Botcon next year since I can only fit in travel for one show.

Hopefully it will be within driving distance for me again!
Or perhaps give me a reason to fly home to Nashville. <3

There is a lot of factors that go into picking the location. So many to list.

Having been to the last 5 TFCon Toronto shows and now the Chicago one I can unequivocally say that TFCon Toronto is a better show. That's not to say that Chicago was bad by any means but I think the organizers have the Toronto one locked down and the hype, convention set up and attendance for that one is far greater.
Still I was pleasantly surprised by how well Chicago went I'm just not sure I'd be willing to go every year to that show. For Toronto it's pretty much a must go annual event for me; almost on the same level as Botcon really.
Still kudos to the organizers on their first US convention. Hopefully it proved to be worth the time and effort on their end.

Thanks. I was typing on my phone and didn't catch that mistake.

Fixed.

I can add some logic to the speculation/suggestions for a location. I talked to one of the organisers and he told me it has to be in driving distance of Toronto since all the staff are from there. Adding airfare to the convention costs would make it a financial disaster. So it'll stay in the north west quadrant of the country ifit does move around.

Man, I just noticed all of my grammatical errors from my post.
I saw Cincinnati on the map, but BotCon has been there before.
I was looking for virgin territory for TFCon to make an impact on.
TFCon USA is a fantastic idea, but Chicago wouldn't have been my first choice had I been on the TFCon Council. But I do understand the significance of having it in Chicago. Plus it appears many people were happy with the location.
I would like to add a 3rd guess to my secondary guesses: Denver.
(again I do not have any loyalty to (or even visited) the cities that I am guessing for)
SWAGE66
Columbus would be BANGIN' if they showed up! Just run-of-the-mill toy shows get a few thousand – this? Total destruction. Or Cincinnati would be (most likely better) great as well.

I'm not staff, nor psychic, nor did I attend TFCon Chicago, nor do I have any loyalty to (or even visited) the following cities…but strategically speaking…IF I was to part of the discussion, I'd suggest:
(in no particular order)
-St Louis
-Pittsburgh
-Philadelphia
My reasons are they're major cities, and BotCon has never been there before.
My secondary guesses:
-Kansas City
-Columbus
Since I didn't go, I'm living vicariously though your all stories. Please post more stories. Thanks.

I have not been to TFcon Toronto and hope to one of these days. In terms of Transformers conventions, I have only been to Botcon (2010 and 2012), TFcon Chicago and Charticon. I felt that TFcon was very organized and ran very well. I also enjoyed being able to hang out more with this show then I did at Botcon. In terms of opening the artist alley early, I have to agree that was a good idea so that the artists could work on their commissions. Having the dealer room in the dungeon kind of hurt it in some aspects, typically in regards to credit card payments.

TFcon Chicago was the most fun I've had at a convention since my first BotCon in 2009. It was definitely a smaller show, but it was very well organized and run.
– The dealer room was amazing. I truly hope it was worth it for the dealers because I was able to feel extremely good about my purchases.
– Panels were great and informative.
– Opening artist alley early was a great idea for both fans and artists IMO.
– Autographs were done right. I get the argument that it may hurt forking over $20 to the voice actor for a signature, but I prefer this method much, much, much more than standing in line for over an over at BotCon.

I have not been able to attend TFCon Toronto, but from those that I have talk to that have and attend the Chicago show over the weekend. Did say the 2 show are night and day difference. Toronto is a much bigger show, larger attending numbers plus on Sunday they have new dealers come in and set up just for Sunday.
With the show being in the basement floor and the low ceiling in what was the dealers room made it feel like we were in a dungeon. Plus the same show exclusive that were available at both shows were more money in Chicago. Like the 3rd party G2 Breakdown was 15 dollars more. Which makes no sense to me cause the US Dollar is more then a Canadian Dollar. Plus the talk at the show seamed to be about Botcon announcement of date and location.
I will be honest I think that TFCon needs to do 1 of 3 for next year.
1) if staying in Chicago need to have the show before Botcon date like say in April or May.
2) if staying with the same dates, around the 3 weekend of October. Then move the show to a different state.
3) If they stay in Chicago and around the same date as this year. Skip next year

The crowds on Saturday seemed about the same. Sunday however was slow. I was really looking forward to sales on the non transformers wares but very few. Overall a great first time show.
