LOS ANGELES– Hasbro Studios, the Los Angeles-based entertainment division of Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS), announced today that Cartoon Network, the regularly top-rated primetime network for boys’ ages 6-11 and 9-14, will become the U.S home of the brand new series, Transformers: Robots in Disguise.
The latest installment in the Transformers franchise – a global phenomenon across TV, film, consumer products and digital media – will debut in the first quarter of 2015 and is written and directed by top Hollywood talent and influenced creatively with feedback from its avid fan base, which is reflected in the tone and style of the new series.
“Robots in Disguise begins a brand new chapter in storytelling, filled with great humor, lots of fun adventure and animated in a cooler, lighter, brighter style that we know kids are going to really love,” said Stephen Davis, president of Hasbro Studios and global entertainment & licensing for Hasbro, Inc. “We have spent a lot of time listening to what kids like about Transformers and they haven’t been shy about giving us their opinions. And we have listened! Robots in Disguise is reflective of all that we have learned in our conversations with kids. It has the most relatable Autobot and Decepticon characters we have ever ‘Rolled Out’ in a Transformers animated series.”
The mission begins as Bumblebee must step up to be leader in the years after we left the Autobots in Transformers Prime. Summoned by Optimus Prime to save Earth from a new faction of Decepticons, Bumblebee puts his light-hearted mettle to the test after assembling a rouge team of young Autobots action heroes. Bumblebee must balance his job fighting off evil with being equal parts squad leader and coach to a rascally band that needs constant coaxing to learn how to work together. The results are comical when the cool rebel, elite guard cadet, bombastic dinobot and exciteable mini-con must balance team-building with chasing and capturing their new enemies in every episode packed full of action, fun and adventure.
Finn Arnesen, senior VP of global distribution and development for Hasbro Studios, commented, “As the regularly top-rated U.S. TV network in prime among Transformers’ core audience of boys ages 6-11 and 9-14, our beloved Autobots and Decepticons will feel very much at home on Cartoon Network. And to seal our new partnership with Cartoon Network on the 30th anniversary of the Transformers franchise makes this a truly iconic event.”

Honestly, people need to let go of the idea of Animated making any sort of comeback. The only ones still "giddy" are the diehard fans mad about the fact there's no S4.
And while maybe around here TFP didn't get a positive reception, I know plenty of people in plenty of other places who were very sad Prime was gone, and super excited that RiD is coming out. Myself included.
Prime's reception wasn't that lukewarm by any stretch.

But CN isn't producing or making RID in house. So they don't get a say in cancelling it, do they? Hasbro's making it, CN's just getting the broadcast rights.
At least if I remember how TFA worked, because that was made in-house by CN wasn't it?

How so? Netflix has Transformers Prime and GI Joe Renegades on the FIRST SCREEN when you bring up the kids section.
And with my one account, in my house, I can access Netflix on 3 different computers, 2 tablets, my Xbox360, my Wii, AND my phone and able to do so pretty much 24/7. Heck, my primary TV has wifi/Netflix BUILT INTO IT!
While kids stuff doesn't grab the headlines like original dramatic series, it is still a BIG part of VoD services (partly why Netflix split off a separate section entirely devoted to kid/family content).
Depending on how CN handles the series, Netflix can't be any worse than the show running at 5 in the morning.
Optimus Prime 3
Why do we even need Networks anymore?
Any producer of a show can just put it up on their website on the internet and ignore the Syndicates all together.
Oh yeah… people doesn't understand / know how to build a tiny PC and connect it to their big screen TV.
SouthtownKid
Seriously.

In the info box under the video it lists the number of episodes x run time of each episode. Like Prime is 65×22, and PRiD is 78×22
The RiD toys would have been planned before AOE even hit the shelf. I believe it takes about a year for a toyline to get to where RID is atm.
They tried something new with the toys. It really didn't work like they wanted. It's going to be a while before they can change direction.

well by the revealed product the show is going to release…Hasbro is either not too enthused with the show either or they are trying to recover $$$ from a craptacular movie toy run….
Transformers Prime had twice as much product getting released @ the beginning compared to this product….this show so far has not shown anything impressive toy wise…
RID is going to not going to go down as a well received toyshow or toyline it is starting to look like to me anyway….
Waverider
People are talking on how the show should be on Netflix. How is this good for Hasbro. It will have a much lower exposure than if it's on the Discovery Family channel.
flatline72
not to defend CN but we all know cartoons are the vehicles that drive toy sales…and the more prime time slot the more $$$ they (CN) can charge for commercial rates…if a show is on the grave yard slot then the $$$ charged is a fraction vs prime time.

With past history between TF & CN, not sure why they would do this again…. but as long as it can be found, I'll watch it.

Thanks for the correction on the Batman series and sorry for any mis-spelling, As for Teen Titans the original series it was cancelled due to poor toy sales which is always one of CN excuses to get rid of a show. As for the other TF series, they all started out in prime time slots and as soon as the toy lines waivered(Armada, Energon, and Cybertron) they were dumped into grave yard time slots, I remember being up at 5:00 AM to catch the last episodes of these series. So once the toy line was gone so was show. CN is still the worst choice for this series and I am sure CN will follow suit and eventually dump it in a grave yard time slot.

I think you mean Beware the Batman, rather than The Batman. You're also forgetting Thundercats. Also, Teen Titans wasn't killed by Cartoon Network, and the only Transformers show they caused to end prematurely was Animated.
I'm not confident that this show will get the treatment it deserves from CN, but there's no need to exagorate their BS. It stinks more than enough on it's own.
edgs2099
This thing will last exactly as long as it takes to hit syndication numbers.

Animated was NOT 3 seasons by any normal measure except maybe an HBO show.
influence82
Three seasons is typical for a transformers cartoon. Prime and Animated were 3 seasons. Why people are predicting an early doom for this show does not make sense. if this does well, we should see 3 seasons of RID.
The Hub channel was not a success, but at least it gave us new TF, MLP and GI Joe series.
Hoffman
The Batman wasn't a CN cartoon though. And it ran for 5 seasons.
Trainbot
Here is a short list of Action shows CN killed over the years:
1)Green Lantern
2)Justice League
3)Samuri Jack
4)Young Justice
5)Symbotic Titan
6)Zoids
7)Teen Titans (now replaced by the goofy mini version)
8)Beware the Batman(one season)
9)Batman Brave and Bold
10) All Transformers Series they have ever run(starts off in a good time slot and then gets dumped into a grave yard slot)
I am sure there are more but those come to mind. You could add Star Wars: The clone wars since it has now been dumped too Sundays at 4:00 AM. CN is a terrible channel for anything but goofy shows like Clarence and Uncle Grandpa. I see even Tenkie Knights is being pushed back futher into the morning. Hasbro might as well chalk this new TF series up as a loss and start on the next series.
Prime Jetscream
Yep. Young Justice, Generator Rex, and more that I can't think of because I never really watched any of them…
And just on the 6th they started burning through the remaining thirty episodes of the last show on there that I like.
Waverider
It would be sad if CN put Uncle Grandpa over the new TF series in good time slots.
Nightrain
It's not just about Animated.
