For our next gallery, it’s time to bring on the big guy! Generations Jetfire is this year’s high-end offering in the Generations line, and like Metroplex before him, he stands as a testament to how Hasbro genuinely does care about the fans.
Generations Jetfire is a very faithful update of the original Jetfire / Skyfire from Generation 1. He blends in elements of the original toy with the non-Robotech infringing animation model, effectively transforming from a very Generation 1 fighter jet to a very sharp version of the robot mode from the cartoon. He’s a big and chunky toy, with great poseability. For accessories, Jetfire has a missile launching rifle plus detachable armor and boosters (none of which needs to come off for transformation – a great touch). He’s also got a visor which can be removed to reveal the original head from the animation model – and when that visor is on, it lines up perfectly with the robot eyes underneath.
All in all, this Generations Jetfire is a great toy who makes a fantastic 30th birthday present to Transformers fans. He is for the moment the definitive version of Jetfire which for us hits all the right notes. Greatly recommended – check out our gallery of almost 200 pictures and see for yourself:

They did, but they ignored most of the of the original toy details and went their own way.

cool, thanks.

I need to start saving money, get a Jetfire, then give some to Megamoonman.
I saw his Metroplex at TFCon Chicago. It was badass. If he's doing more stuff, I want to give him money. Once I have some. This is a bad time of year.

no clue, havent bought it, was thinking about it though

Didn't mean to double post…
What I mean is the plastic rough with striations?
I've got some Dr Wu metallic Rainstorm guns and iGear Kup heads and they are very nice 'factory' quality.
kaszal
Cool, thanks.
What's the plastic quality like with home-printed/moulded parts?
jamarmiller
It's megamoonman
[Wing_Saber-X]
^wow… neat. Do you mind tellin us who it is, thanks?!

There's a member here selling parts to fill in those gaps
kaszal
We need Dr Wu or similar to make a Stormbringer gun, arm cannons and pieces to fill the holes in asap!
[Wing_Saber-X]
yeah, weird that they didnt make ANY sticker set for Jetfire..

I just wished some 3rd party company would make macross parts for this thing, hell reprolables already dropped the ball big time with the stickers

I just picked this up on Monday and I have to echo Sol Fury's sentiments on it: this is a great figure! This has the "wow" factor that last year's Metroplex had and I really feel as if Hasbro-Takara-Tomy should be doing this level of work all the time.
Jetfire was always a great design and it's nice to see yet another strong variant of this popular character.

Good idea, I should try that

I used the "clear" outlined symbol from Reprolabels. It fit over the preexisting, fully painted symbol perfectly.
[Wing_Saber-X]
that looks nice! what Autobot symbol did you use? Reprolables?
shadowfall1976
Really? It may be an IDW style, but I can see all the G1 inspired Skyfire detail in bot mode….it's there. The detailing in the calves is there, the rounded style shoulders, the details on the waist parts….the chest, the face….it's there, it's G1.
You put a sticker on it…. Yes?
I took mine apart and contemplated painting it, but, I'll just be putting a sticker on mine instead, that way, it can always be removed.
And by the way, the red of that piece is the same red that his chrome parts are molded in….just in case anyone didn't realize that.
Indeed….plus, Jetfire doesn't break at the feet, or feel fragile at all. Plus the price of that thing….wow….sorry, no.

No,
I just disassembled the chest canopy and added a white outlined Autobot symbol. Hope that helps.

I don't care what anyone says. Leader Jetfire is better than Kronos especially because of Jetfire's chest design
Sol Fury
That looks much better – reminds me of the Armada days when the symbols were solid colours for the early waves, then they had the white painted in on the later waves. The painted ones looked loads better.
