It's the same body he's had throughout RID, which is sort of an amalgamation of his Generations toy and WFC/FOC designs, it's just Stone's style making it seem "Prime-y".
As posted by Jalaguy earlier in the thread:

Wheeljack's got his Prime bod! First TFP Bulkhead appears in Monstrosity, then Knock Out makes a cameo in Windblade, now… Wheeljack's got his Prime body! I'm loving how TFP is influencing the G1 series. Awesome!

I'll buy Wheeljack being naturally clumsy enough to stumble out in any way he wants. I'm sure I've managed less-possible feats of mis-coordination.
It somehow seems right for Mr. Shockblast Cannon.

I give up then. I'll just go with it.
SPLIT LIP
Sorry, I think I might have had my RID-goggles on.
Like I said, that's impossible. If you've seen water sucked up, it doesn't flow up in a straight line. The way it's drawn, it's sitting water with gravity causing it to sit evenly across the tube.

Ummmm… maybe there's image distortion from the convex curve of the glass…. ?
I got nothin'.
I think I'm maybe more forgiving of her stylization than you are, but I think you're correct on each count.
Even if it was just for the sake of a visual gag, it would still be worth it. Lighten up.
I suppose you could argue that it's a visual analogy to the birth process? Or rebirth, in this instance.
But yeah, I think this is the first time we've seen anyone upside-down in a CR tank. Also, is it standard procedure for them to break open when the person inside wakes up, dumping them on their head/ass? Seems like kind of a design flaw.

Omegashark18
Sucked up, perhaps?
SPLIT LIP
That's actually impossible with the way the fluid is drawn.
Omegashark18
Maybe it went up, and what was left fell out.
SPLIT LIP
The shot of everyone standing there looks really, really bad.
I feel like Stone's art is getting lost in it's own style. It's just… unappealing, and inconsistent. Starscream's proportions continue to be off-putting and ill-fittign, Ironhide's way too big, and Windblade still has that "deer-caught-in-headlights" expression. Whever she's looking at something she always looks like it's the most shocking thing ever. Also, she's sporting two decidedly differnet proportions in the recap, and never looks quite the same twice. The proportions overall are just off and inconsistent. It's like its going for all flare rather than actual coherant imagery.
Yeah, the art's really not good. Also, do-ho-ho, Wheeljack fell out upside down, but, um, why? Why is he upside down, why does he just fall out? Isn't that a repair chamber? Why would it just dup him out like that? Was it designed with comedic effect in mind?

Oh Wheeljack, how I've missed you!

Ms. Stone just keeps getting better.

Oooh, now I see it. Goddamnit this comic is now ruined forever.
Necro Prime
I had a llittle surprise geek moment this weekend. I went to the Nan Desu Kan anime and video game convention in Denver and bumped into Sarah Stone in her art booth. I had NO idea that she was going to be there. Also cool because it happened to be my birthday. Got a signed print of Windblade issue # ' cover. SWEET!
Starscream Gaga
I didn't notice it when I first read it, but now its been pointed out it really bothers me. That's a pretty annoying mistake.

See this crudely-drawn diagram:
The fluid should be draining down, towards the observers' feet, as in this sketch, but instead, it's draining up, towards their heads.
User_93049
I'm sure that wheeljack is upside down in the tank, so the fluids are draining correctly.
Jalaguy
It's the same body he's always had in RID, which does indeed look a little like the Generations toy and a little like the Prime design.

I love the upside down scene, but there's one thing I noticed: the liquid is drained out of the tank… from the top. The scenes are from Wheeljack's view (who is upside down) and yet the liquid is draining down in this view (meaning upwards in reality).
Absolute minor nitpick but once I noticed it I couldn't un-see it. No reason a tank couldn't just suck the liquid up anyway.
ANYWAY, the important thing is that the art is absolutelylovely. So much emotion and personality are conveyed in just body language and facial expressions. Sarah also seems to have a nack for neat layouts too. I'm pretty happy to have the Milne-space, Griffiths – Earth, Stone – Cybertron trio on the go.

Stone on the regular series? Yes please!
