i love the idea of vehicle to beast former and i think they could get away with an entire wave of them in generations
just think an updated skylynx a non movie hachet and about two others

You can order individual figures from HasbroToyShop easily. What the jist of the story was if I remember correctly, was that smaller stores were going to get a similar ability outside of having to order singles from a dreadfully overpriced distributor like Diamond. Though if I wanted I could go and get 20 dollar deluxes from my comic shop, though I'd rather go another route.
I think that as collectors we see things a bit off of what the reality of the situation is. There aren't nefarious scalpers in every town getting that wanted toy from the case before you do. There are other collectors and *gasp* children out there buying the toys as well. Sometimes that means that assortments get messed up by the time you hit the stores and you end up 1 figure short of a wave. But at that point it's more worth it to go to an existing retailer that takes a case and splits it up than going through a small shop, unless they have a deal directly with Hasbro over a 3rd party distributor.

Just doing a re-listen & concerning Aaron's concerns about Legends, can't we now order individual items, versus cases, directly from Hasbro? I'm not sure how this works out yet, but theoretically I could pop over to my comic book store & put in an order in for Powerglide, if so desired.
Granted, kids interested in this set will need a parent to do this, but it might make it so the kids don't have to fight with collectors nearly as much.

Thanks for posting it.
That painting is awesome, if Prime's combiner head actually looks that good I may get him and just leave him as a torso forever. haha

Yeah, exactly. Whatever that guy was telling Vangelus about Carnage being randomly packed was total bull. He was packed just as much as all the other first case "swap figures," he's just way more popular that most other swaps.
starscream-99
Carnage, Black Cat, and Beetle were shipped in the first cases of the Spiderman Marvel Legends line. Toxin, Spider-Girl, and Boomerang are swap figures/variants/running changes. There's a Agent Venom coming out soon that'll be a Walgreens exclusive and will be shipped with the original case assortment which is rumored to include Carnage, Black Cat, and Beetle.

I'M kinda surprised the Playstation Optimus didn't come up.

Ok I have to nitpick Aaron Archer here a bit.. Saying "You don't get Batman and Superman conventions but you get Transformers conventions" is a Horrible analogy! Batman and Supes are characters in a universe, not franchises as the Transformers are! Do we get Optimus Prime and Bumblebee conventions solely based on those characters? Nooooo Does DC and Marvel have conventions their own? That's the comparison.. and oddly I am actually not sure
But comparing characters versus franchises is not a level playing field.

Regarding Motormaster vs Prime. There are definitely some new parts on the two figures. Not being confrontational just wanted to point it out.
The truck grills are different. The individual robot chests are different also.
As for the combined mode not sure if there will be any difference there.

Hey good episode, and sorry about that last sentence in my question I need to read what I wright more. Also to clarify in addition to being a giant fighting monster a Persona is supposed to be a reflection of yourself and your personality. Just wanted to pop in the thread and say that thanks for the Podcast and keep up the award winning work.

there ya go
it was in one of the sdcc panel stuff
that right arm looks a heck of a lot like blast off

I also think the battle changers look cool but I can't IMAGINE they'd be $20. Just making them more expensive than an actual Hasbro deluxe would be positively suicidal. My completely baseless instincts are telling me they might end up around the same price as the Micro Change Combiners, maybe a buck or two more.
Random thoughts on Combiner Wars:
I agree that putting G1 purity aside, changing up Offroad and Slingshot makes the set more interesting.
Maybe instead of combining with the Motormaster sword "Blacjack"'s axe combines with the other purple weapons Dragstrip and Offroad have.
I love that Dead End's weapon is just a pipe. In my mind this version of Dead End is totally a crazy hobo. It'll slot right in next to parts-vampire Movie Dead End and frothing-at-the-mouth radioactive Prime Dead End.
Just looking at the vehicle modes of Optimus and Motormaster it's obvious there's at least SOME retooling going on. The sides, top, and part of the front are without a doubt different parts.
Everything Aaron's worried about as far as distribution is echoing my fears EXACTLY. Hasbro and the stores really have to get on the same page or else it's going to be a complete Cluster-F.
RID:
I'm definitely seeing the accordian transformation with Bumblebee, the difference is I think this toy ahas stuff accordian into the BACK of the legs rather than the front. That and the fact that the shoulder and leg tires are pointing different direction makes me think 'waist swivel' (which would equal waist joint!) But looking at the animation model and squinting at the toy pic I realize he actually has DOOR WINGS. That is something very NOT-Vehicon like and I'm interested to see how that fits in with the rest
of the transformation.
Underbite: LOVE vehicle-to-beast formers (I have a special place in my heart for DOTM Hatchet). Given how the other 1-step changers look I wondering just how much of what we're seeing is actually indicative of his animation model. Looking at Fixit I'm wondering if they maybe designed certain characters with a simple transformation scheme so that they wouldn't NEED anything more complex than a one-step.

Fun fact, last years metroplex made a great crowd displacing bludgeoning device

It was recorded before 314 but has not gone up yet.

Werid what podcast do you guys talk about the TF4 movie?
I think I missed a podcast!?

Also, just a quick addendum. The reason why Hasbro, Lego & Mattel are ticketed is because the fire marshal came along & said that lines can't wrap three times around & block all traffic.
Personally, I kind of like the Lego lottery system, as it discourages camping overnight, but I grant it gives an advantage to ppl who visit SDCC for multiple days.
Personally, I don't know much about Lego exclusives. I'm not a Lego guy, and haven't been interested enough to figure out how it works. I just know when I took a look in the sales portion of the booth, there was a sign that said "No More Vouchers".
CryoPrime
So I can't for the life of me find an image of the art with Prime combined with the other Generations limbs, which news post is it within?
Silent_Magnus
Wow, I feel really lucky about finding a Carnage in a local store now.
Boomerang and Toxin are the only ones I haven't seen here, and I only saw Beetle once.
It's mostly just Spider-mans and Electros.
edit: Oh yeah, not only is that Toxin supposed to be the Eddie Brock Toxin that I'm not much of a fan of, but I don't even think the figure is that great of a representation of that design.

Okay, a couple of corrections. One, people weren't getting tickets for the Hasbro booth at 1:30a in the morning. But, people were waiting outside SDCC since then. The just lined up in front of the door that grants you access to the Sails Pavilion upstairs, which opens up at 6:30a (and that's when they started handing out tickets). For example, on Friday when I rolled in at 7:30a, the Hasbro booth just sold out of tickets.
And the 1:30a number is incorrect, that apparently was the time people gave me for tickets that got you in at 2:30p the next day. I expect that people who got tickets for the 9:30a (when SDCC first rolls out) – the tickets are handed out in time allotments.
Another correction, camping overnight for panels really only helps with Hall H stuff. Since that's the only panel room that has its entrance outside SDCC. In my experience, I haven't had much trouble getting into panels inside, but admittedly I might stay in a panel room that has something I don't want to miss.
For example this year, I got in line for Ballroom 20, just 50 minutes before the Korra* panel & got in just fine. I just hung around for the Agent Carter/Agents of Shield panel that took place later.
Also, I'm not sure if it was just introduced just this year, but SDCC showing rebroadcasts of select panels at the Omni hotel, which is a good 15 minute jaunt away from the Convention Center (at least). From the way SDCC was promoting it on their Twitter, I'd say you'd have a fair chance of getting into that if you really needed to.
So while SDCC is clearly crazy, and I'm not sure I'll be going in 2015, aside from the exclusives side & Hall H, I don't think anything else is really denied to anyone who doesn't feel like camping overnight for SDCC.
*(which is now all digital in case you didn't know, the only place to watch the episodes is now online)

Finally the greatly awaited podcast arrives!
