A mystery haunting the minds of many a fan is what the mysterious “hexagon” ports located on several of the Transformers: Age of Extinction Generations toy’s backs are for.
Those who speculated that it might be to attach a display stand – to allow for jumping or flying poses – have been proven right! Toys R Us Singapore are giving away a special display stand which is compatible with the sockets and also comes with an optional claw to support other figures. The stand is free with any purchase over $30 Singapore Dollars.
The stand design can be seen in the attached image – it seems to be fairly similar in style to the Bandai Tamashii Act 4 display stands, and we can verify if you own such a stand these too will work with the hexagonal stand ports on your Age of Extinction toys.

I wish they gave away stands like this in North America.

The figure stand is also available here in Hong Kong.
From the Toys'R'Us Hong Kong newsletter:
"Exclusive Offer – FREE Figure Stand with any purchase of Transformers Age of Extinction products over HK$400. While stocks last.; Exclusive to Toys R Us"
I don't know why Hasbro doesn't offer free stuff in the US but it seems to be the norm here. Most of their brands tend to cycle through freebies for a minimum purchase. Having said that, their rival companies do the same thing here so perhaps it is an Asian thing.
Toys R Us Hong Kong also has another Transformers deal: If you buy Masterpiece Grimlock you also get a free Leader series toy (Bumblebee, Optimus or Grimlock)+ the limited edition coin.

That's just a straight up Tamashii Stage Act 4 with a decal. Wow, that's not subtle, HASTAK…

I actually got this just yesterday, with my legends nemesis prime with free stand.
Will open it but not now, It actually looks sturdy compare to the other stands that i have.

We just got news that we are also getting the stands too here in the Phils.
Robogeek28
Now that's pretty cool.
LegendAntihero
This just confirms Hasbro punched ports in their AoE figures to fit those stands

Ha ha cool, I've been using the Bandai Stage Act 5 (for mechanics) for my AOE stuff & they worked really well with TFs. So this piece of news is rather coincidental.
Thanks Cybershadow for this info.

Yes, please!
I'll have to start looking at stands next time I make an online order. Anyone know offhand if Hasbro Toy Shop has stands?
Matty
Oh snap. These AOE figures just became infinitely cooler. They work with the Tamashii flight stands!
DarthusPrime

simonatmac

The Goatse Ports explained! Well done CyberShadow, the Sherlock of Singapore! Somebody get that man a news credit!
Would be interested to see one of these stands in use…I wonder if BBTS etc. will ever carry them?

But Hasbro is doing this free give away.

Hasbro likes money.

With some stands you can take the claw of and use this to peg the arm directly into the figure. It is used for running, jumping and sometimes flying poses, depends on the figure and the stand that comes with it. The claw itself is just to hold the figure while standing normally, most of the time.
Blazere
But that looks like a claw, not a port.
Correct me if you will, I'm not an expert on figure stands.
Darkstone
Indeed. Bandai/Tamashii Nations certainly haven’t invented clear figure stands, but this resembles their figure stands a lot.
CyberShadow
I found it interesting because these are TF4 branded – that's an AoE black sticker on the base of the stand, which means it was designed into the range by Hasbro specifically.
