If you mean the ones that are locked, then yeah. they're right there waiting to be unlocked. Probably through campaign progress or leveling up.
If you mean additional characters not shown anywhere in the character selection screen, then I have no idea.

Do you think the others will be added to escalation or other multiplayer modes once you play as them in campaign mode?

Escalation plays a heck of a lot like FoC with hints of WfC throughout. Characters get one ability and a dash (FoC Prime retains the Shield ability from FoC). I'll be able to customize these abilities, though it seems.
Menus look a lot like FoC. It's not a rip off, but very similar.
Good question about the local multiplayer. I haven't looked into it unfortunately.
Also, there are obviously more movie characters showing up in the campaign (from the trailers we've seen). The list I put up for the 43 characters is for Escalation only.
Campaign only it would seem.
The Ramjet
Tell me about it.
Even the crappy AOE phone game has Hound and Crosshairs in it, ROTDS does not.

I thought they showed Earth Grimlock in a Trailer?

Local Multiplayer at all?
Really hoping there's something in this game to make it worthwhile. Can't believe that the "massive crossover event" is 5 characters. That sucks.

Nice menus? For lack of a better question. :L

Thankyou for the info, how would you say the game played overall – did it feel the same as WFC/FOC? Also, do characters have two special abilities like WFC, or one ability and a dash, like FOC?

15 waves.
No weapon pick ups, just ammo and "money"
Same enemies as in FoC (at least on the FoC map I played)
Tracks number of headshots for each weapon and similar stats (think the Call of Duty games)
Stuff you pay for (gun turret, for example) will degrade over time. You can pay to repair or upgrade.
Still 30 seconds between waves (as in FoC)
HUD is different, but it's essentially the same info as before.
New voice clips during matches (at least for FoC Prime).
That's pretty much all I can recall right now.

It's grayfox, not grey fox
I won't get to play the campaign until next week after the game's release, unfortunately so I couldn't tell you.[/QUOTE]
oops my bad
Anyway, anything else you can remember from Escalation? Was it unlimited waves?

Unfortunately, my time with the game is over for now. But I did check the extras menu. From memory, there are audio logs to unlock. There are also achievements in there as well. Not the Playstation trophys or the Xbox achievements, but other game specific stuff (which may in turn unlock trophys and the likes).
Did not see anything relating to altering the look of the characters or the weapons. Could be wrong, though.
I imagine they unlock either when you progress through the campaign or when you level up playing escalation.

Grey Fox Can you please tell us how many chapters there are in the Campaign?
scoobsterinc
No crosshairs, hound, galvatron or movie dinobots? That's quite disappointing. Ow well we can always hope for DLC or a day one update…..
Decepticons
Why are they locked? How do you unlock them?

When the trailer flicks through the character selections, I noticed that they have writing and arrows pointing to various parts of their armour, rather like the weapons upgrade screens, does this mean the characters themselves may be somewhat customizable, perhaps having several abilities to choose from?
Also on weapons, it looks like each has 4 upgrades, the final one being the weapons special upgrade (like the Nucleon Charge Rifles Dominator, the Path Blasters Gambler etc), but these upgrades have padlock icons next to them, perhaps meaning you have to purchase the standard three first for each weapon before being able to upgrade to its special?
The Ramjet
Is there anything in the options/extras menu for unlockables?
WFC and DOTM had an unlockables section for the characters you got for completing campaign. They just stayed blacked out until you finished the story.

So can anyone confirm the Obsidian map is new? Or is it from WfC?
Also, in escalation, the main reason I'm getting this game, enemies drop ammo, now. That and you don't have to pay to open doors anymore since they're all already opened. Instead, if you want to hole up in a room, you can pay to have electric barriers to stop enemies from getting in. At least that's how it was when I played Ignition…
Grimlockimus
Yes
And at the same time no, it's disappointing to find out that there's only four (five with DLC) movie characters that we know of so far and even more so that there's no movie Grimlock in Escalation.
Still getting the game though, it at least fills something I wanted in FOC which was a more extensive character roster for Escalation.
Mospeada
The more I think about it, if there is definitely no PvP, and no Escalation on WiiU, I'm just…90% less excited. How can there be no straight up Deathmatch? I guess I was just waiting to see it confirmed.

Paint customization wasn't completely removed but the options weren't even close to WoC. You had a list of paired colors, no variation outside of the list. Overall I'd say part customization made up for it but it still sucked not being able to color a bot like Prowl or Drift.
