An article posted on variety.com has revealed some very interesting new details about the new Transformers cartoon set to launch on The Hub in spring 2015. Of the new details, we have learned the title of this new cartoon, which will be Transformers: Robots In Disguise. We might have had a hunch this was the case back when we reported of Hasbro’s trademark application for “Robots In Disguise.
Also included is a new image of the animated designs of some characters including Bumblebee, Sideswipe, and Fixit. With this image we’re starting to see the aesthetic of this new show develop, which as a mix of Transformers Prime and Animated in the characters.
The article went on to describe the new animated show:
[The] show takes place years after “Transformers Prime,” when Bumblebee is summoned to save Earth from a new faction of Decepticons and assembles a rogue team of young Autobots that includes a rebel bad boy bot, an elite guard cadet, a bombastic Dinobot and hyperactive Mini-Con to capture their new enemies. Each new bot is a fully capable action hero but inexperienced in working together in a team, forcing Bumblebee to become both squad leader and coach, Hasbro said.
The show will feature voice actors such as Darren Criss, Constance Zimmer, Mitchell Whitfield and Ted McGinley. Also from the article: “[the] creative team includes kids programming vets Jeff Kline (“Transformers Prime”) as executive producer; producer Adam Beechen (“The Adventures of Chuck and Friends”); and Steven Melching, a writer on “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” who will serve as the show’s story editor.”
Wow! What do you think of this news? Does the Fandom need to come up with another abbreviation for all of these Robots In Disguise toy lines? Are you excited for the direction? Discuss it all with the forums link below!

Awesome Mairghread Scott is involved, gives me hope.

Sorry for bumping this thread a little over 2 months after the last post, but with more news about the show that just came out, this was the only search result I found that talked about the writer.
Thank you very much for this information. I'm surprised there's so little discussion on the potential writing for the story, when that's what matters most for the show. (The toys are separate. Story helps sell toys, but it's not the most important factor for me.)
The info seems to be a bit refined since that news update, so perhaps this changes the talents that a given individual is likely to contribute. I'm just praying it won't be as terrible as TFPrime, but I suppose there's little hope for that. I'll pray for a miracle anyway.

To reformat that:
executive producer: Jeff Kline
producer: Adam Beechen
story editor: Steven Melching
script coordinator/writer's assistant: Mairghread Scott
Hm. I guess I'm just not familiar with the titles, but wikipedia is very helpful in the matter.
After reading about this, does this mean that there is a head writer that we're not aware of? Is there any channels of inquiry, since we're so far along?

Sounds like a lot of grunt work. Nothing about "writer's assistant" or "writing assistant" though, so no idea what additional work that might imply.
Star Warp
Yeah, oh well. But I'm still hoping for KO, even though they haven't mentioned him at all. :/
EnergonWaffles
They look similar, but nope, Sideswipe is Sideswipe and KO is KO.
Star Warp
Maybe, just maybe…
Now I do highly doubt it, and this is just my theory, but, what if Knock-Out… I dunno, maybe has his name changed to Sideswipe after he joined the autobots? Idk, it almost makes sense (well to me), especially the way Sideswipe looks, and how people are already mistaking him for KO (like I did at first as well). plz, plz, plz be him!
pokemonsdoom
Looks like the show could be cell shaded to look 2d
ErbFan28
Steven Melching as story editor. That's acceptable.
Sounds promising, though I wish they picked a different name

Is it possible for Hasbro to release some info about the new Transformers cartoon at Botcon??
janeDoe001
Shhush! Don't say that outloud! They'll make it cannon!
Okay you can say that outloud.

SaberPrime
So Knock-Out changed his name to Sideswipe after joining the Autobots? And Fixit looks like Scooter from the Go-Bots cartoon and Beast Machine Rattrap had a weird screwed up bastard child together. He's kinda got Scooter's head with Rattrap's wheel legs.

Why does Bumblebee have Smokescreen's head? I am sensing some nefarious stuff here.

I would like to see all of those characters show up.

Barricade better show up this time. He had such a great Aligned design (along with Prowl) that seemed to go to waste. Wouldn't mind if Blitzwing or Brawl did as well.
2003 Megatron
To kiddy for me and i wish they would redo something related to g1.
Niv3k
Looks pretty fun but Sideswipe really reminds me of Knock Out.

So some character wielding the voice of Mr. D'Arcy will be running about the series
Wild Eevee
I wonder how this will effect Rescue Bots season 3,and at least Bee can speak in this one.
The Iron Magnus
As well as the fact that this is applying to NBA and MLB games.
