Next up in our avalanche of Transformers Age of Extinction Merchandise posting, we have a look at the mainline “Robots in Disguise” release for Age of Extinction. We have lots of images for you of these including:
Flip & Change series Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Grimlock and Lockdown
Mega Flip & Change Bumblebee
One Step Changers Bumblebee, Slash, Stinger, Crosshairs, Lockdown, Grimlock, Drift, Hound and Optimus Prime
One Step Changers Electronic Chomp & Stomp Grimlock
Power Battlers Bumblebee, Hound, Crosshairs, Strafe, Optimus Prime, Drift and Scorn
Plus the press release accompanying all of this includes reference to a few other assortments including Dino Sparkers (formerly Joust Sparkers) – pull back and go Dinobots which light up with real sparks as they race toward each other and try to knock off the included rider figures. The assortment will include Optimus Prime with Grimlock, Bumblebeewith Strafe and Drift with Slug.
Lastly the non-transforming Titan assortments are covered. The 12-inch Titan Heroes will include Bumblebee, Drift, Optimus Prime and Lockdown, while the 16-inch Titan Guardians will include Optimus Prime and Grimlock. Both size classes are billed as having five points of articulation per toy.

Anybody have any idea how large the flip and change bots are? That Lockdown looks neat. If we don't ever get a Generations version, I may pick that one up.

I tried to be slightly completist in the first 3 movie toy lines so I bought all the fast action battlers from tf1 and tf2. Felt bad when fast action battlers got replaced by the much smaller cyberverse legion/commander in tf3. In tf1, Frenzy was available only as a fast action battler. In tf2, less characters were done as Fast Action Battlers. Looks like AOE is serious again with the similar Power Battlers with 15 figures in 2014. If they had done fast action battlers for TF3, we could've gotten larger versions of Hatchet and Crowbar instead of Commander size Hatchet and Legion size Crowbar, and maybe even more larger figures like soundwave, wheeljack and the red mirage. The TF3 toy line fizzled out fast with some later releases ended up being in asia only so hopefully, AOE will do better and we can get toy versions of all of the movie characters.
Atlas
Thanks ive been out of the loop for a bit with work and all.
Mechafire
Yes.
Atlas
So see if I am understanding this right. More complex figures from the movie will be released under the Generations line?
ShakesDaKlown
My favourite part about these is the package art. That Power Punch Bee looks like a movie/Animated mashup. Nice.
LegendAntihero
Either I'm looking at his backside and his head is turned all the way around or the engineers really messed up on that toy.
The Iron Magnus
If there's one thing i've learned, is to never mess with Elf Claus.

I got some bad news for ya, I am normally a big proponent for proper decorum, but.. there are just some things that go way too far. and that was one of them. Especially when you take a few things into account.
1. It's Bay.
Actually I guess that's all you really need to say.

RedAlert Rescue
That might be his legit (all be very suggestive) attack mode.
CodeXCDM
Yea seriously… most awkward TF ever.

There were listings for Legion figures leaked on Hasbro's site too, so maybe we'll se these a little later.

Yeah, after seeing them in action I must admit as a kids' toy they look pretty cool, and I totally get why they're doing them. I think it's really easy for us to forget that the world's a different place from when we were kids and everything's faster and more immediate, and whether we like it or not, it's something that all companies have to cater for. As a kid playing with the figures telling a story etc. which is what I would've done when I was 7, 8, 9, then something that converts in 2 or 3 easy steps or has an action feature would be pretty fun actually. I think we forget that a lot of the figures we grew up with had very little accuracy to what we saw on screen or in comics (especially in G1) but we didn't let that stop us having fun, and I think the ones that I spent the most time playing with were the ones that I didn't have to faff around with too much, like the combiner limbs and mini bots.
I'm glad we've got the Generations figures, because they're great things to display, but I think the new Robots in Disguise lines may surprise us, maybe not all of them, but with multiple lines it seems that Hasbro are testing the market to see what works and which of them to fully invest in for the later series.

Well i guess the power battlers labelled power punch could be commander size to go with what i guess is legion/legends size one steps are they called…
Dinobot Nuva
Hasbro usually introduces a portion of their new pricepoints during the Spring/Summer, then rolls out additional assortments after stores begin doing their pre-holiday resets (August/Septemberish). More recent examples in the past were the Prime Cyberverse vehicles and the Bot Shots Ultimate Battle sets.
I think its less "not releasing during the movie" and more of "retailers want more product closer to shopping season".

Are these meant to be the equivalent of Cyberverse? Some of the designs have come out quite nice but the problem with these in my mind is they are all the same size, all legengs and no comander which is a shame.
indypwr888
Ugliest toys I have ever seen…wtf hasbro??
Anguirus
…ok that Grimlock is impressive. August though? Not exactly striking when the iron is hot.

Here's some pictures so you can see what I mean…
The chests look the same
The crotchplates both seem to have the "bent license plate" and gas cap
The knee-caps look the same/similar.
Head looks like bees battle mask
