X-Transbots have released final product images of their unofficial, unlicensed Huffer and Pipes minibots, Krank and Stax, via the TFUpgrader Facebook page. The pair feature chromed arms like the original Generation 1 toys and alternate heads to reflect the different ways both have been depicted in comics and cartoons over the years. They are done roughly to Masterpiece scale and can tow the trailer for MP-10 Masterpiece Convoy. Check out the images and see what you think.

Don't suppose anyone has the box for Krank with the clam-shell, their willing to part with?!?

I don't have the figure, but can the tab be removed to allow it to fold out? Normally I don't like permanently altering figures (even ones that need it), but if it is the wrong part anyway it would bother me less.

An odd question – does anyone have one of these that's only good for parts? I have the Road Ranger version, but XTB made a mistake at the factory and I have two of the same heel spur, instead of a "left" and "right" (I can't remember which one got duplicated off the top of my head). As a consequence the "wrong" heel spur doesn't fold out flat due to a tab being in the way and he can't stand properly.

Oh I forgot that they did him in *actual Gobot* Road Ranger colors, I was thinking of the minibot black and orange. Thanks for reminding me of the Erector one though, I've been meaning to get that one but it keeps slipping my mind.

They did several redecos back in the day. Not all of them, unless Puffer came out and I never saw it, he was teased in the first post of this thread.

This figure reminds me of the time when we were trying to cobble together an MP collection with Alternators/Binaltech, the MP-0x era before reboot, and mods customizations of our own because the release rate of figures like this was maybe once a year.
It fit in perfectly with this and those of us who liked the old toon/toy aesthetic. Important figure to me, and just wish I had grabbed a Pipes of the mold when they were available.
Girl Pants
I would have liked a reissue because it might have lead to a bunch of redecos like Puffer and Road Ranger like we're getting from Cliffjumper/Hubcap. Oh well, they can still redeco a potential remake, I guess.
See you all in 2025!

Gotta bump this old thread (though it isn’t as dusty as I expected) to say how incredibly grateful I am that XTB and the designer produced this homage to my favorite character when they did. The engineering may be a bit outdated, but aesthetically, this is EXACTLY what I wanted for the character: a more sophisticated, mature realization of the character with a realistic alt mode in a fairly real world scale to the other carbots. I honestly cannot see how a figure could be designed in a way that I would think it superior and want to replace Krank. If Krank hadn’t been produced before the aesthetic of MPs had been changed to Full Toon, I’d have been stuck considering either the Derpy Bad Cube, or this new, fugly as hell, poorly articulated FT figure. I probably would just pass on them, never getting a good representation of my favorite bot. If you’re reading this, mr designer, cheers to you!
(same goes for the MT Gun Dog for my other favorite Autobot, Hound. So glad I got a good toy homage)

I hope they do a more realistic alt-mode and keep the arms like the original, G1-toy had, but with more interesting articulation. That would give/retain its identity.

sorry to bump a really old thread but if they redo them…i'm an excited and i hope they keep the same sort of style and don't go too toon. When these came out i thought they looked "too cool" for the characters and went with cubex for me huffer. but now…I kinda want Stax real bad. i actually REALLY like the chrome on stax. i know some don't but i thin it looks good. also as xtb seems to go redeco crazy with two of their other minibot molds recently (annoucning how many new versions of toro and boost and their retools?) and didn't decide to reissue these even older bots – it really seems they will "Redo" them. hopefully it won't be in uber toon style and hopefully stax keeps his chrome and nice alt mode detailing as well.

Managed to source Stax off ebay. Overall pretty happy with him, especially considering his age.

They are a Dodge Commando 100 series.

Enfin
Do you guys know if these bots' alt-modes were modeled after real trucks? If so, how true-to-life do these look? Thanks in advance.
Somechump
Finished my modding of these two.

I've never picked him up. (I have their Pipes, which looks pretty good but is pretty floppy- it's definitely not helped with motivation) But every so often I spend a few days looking at the pictures online because of that toy face. That makes him very appealing. But I now have the Kingdom version and may eventually make that face and put it on him.
Huffer was one of the first 2 Transformers I ever had and I'd really like a nice one with THAT face. I'd also like a Brawn like that (I know the one company did it, and I even have him on display- but the sculpt is really sloppy and gummy- so bad I actually have the human face on display).
Scowly Prowl
Well, both Locke and Ollie could both be true V2.0s, from a certain point of view.
Lazerlips
Has xtransbots done a true 2.0 before?

I'd be down for a Stax redo…
Ottertron
Ahhh, that's a shame. I really wanted the original Stax and I never see one for sale.
the oaf
As long as they keep the realistic alt. mode and size.
