That, or perhaps herd mentality; it is similar to sheeple (sheep culture) but not quite the same thing. Sheeple is typically used as a derisive insult.
You stated that "what the overwhelming fan base thinks is irrelevant" because of "OCD influences and sheep culture". Try looking up the terms "bandwagon effect", "herd mentality", and "sheeple", then see if you understand what we're trying to say.
If you still don't get it, then there's not much else I can say to you.
Autobot Burnout
Do we know of any bonus features? Like, say, included art scans of Optimus Prime's first form (the one w/ the chest windows and a vague resemblance to the RID normal version of him, right before he scans the truck that's randomly driving in the desert)
Dude, just…just stop. You're kind of making a huge deal out of something somebody said on the internet that everybody has moved on from. It's not worth the effort you're putting into this.
1) It is
Animation error/gallery – Transformers Wiki
2) It's the concept I was referring to. If you take any kind of data, taking the average will present a common pattern or trend. It's not perfect, as there will be outliers, but the majority of individual data points will be on or close to a trend line. Not to mention generalizations are made by pretty much everybody in the real world. They're called stereotypes, which you are using right now with your 'sheep people' clams.
3) You posted your opinions on a public discussion forum, and more than one person disagreed with you, and frankly I was just making a comment about how illogical your argument is. If you seriously just want to argue with a single person then take it to VM's or PM's, because you're continuously trying to drive this thread off topic to validate yourself.

I didn't call anyone a sheep i said people are sheep which they are, to be an insult it needs to be aimed at someone, which is wasn't. I didn't call him or anyone a sheep I just said they existed, and being a sheep dosent make someone mindless, smart people may become sheep due to following there friends and others, all it means is that you are a follower, being a follower is not an insult unless you want it to be its down to interpretation. So i'm still waiting to see my where my insult is
what data ? he's making up bullshit i could say 99% of transformers fans think G1 is a error prone mess of shit to validate my opinion..do you not think people would be upset with me generalising them like this ? yeha i think so, if he wants to say something he can speak for himself, not others. End of.
LegendAntihero
Not me, I'm planning to buy this at Walmart like I did with Energon and Cybertron
xMostWanted559x
Who else has preorders of this
LegendAntihero
^that's what I want to know.
ILoveDinobot
When can we get RID?
Autobot Burnout
Clearly you do not understand the law of averages, which is pretty much generalizing a set of data.
LegendAntihero
He's probably thinking of bandagon hopping.
CelticMutt
Calling people a sheep culture = calling people sheep = calling people mindless. I find it hard to believe that you don't know that, or understand why it's an insult.
LegendAntihero
I'll sell off my old Armada DVDs now that this is coming out. I'll sell my part 1 DVD first and then my part 2 set when this is released.
Duskscream
generalizations are a nonesensical way to try and validate yourself, use them with evidence (statistics) or dont use then at all.
He can easily post his opinon without trying to group me and others in to it, when he does that I wont have to reply, not hard.
also how is my "sheep culture" comment an insult that still dosent explain what you mean, "sheep culture" is just people following others, how is that an insult…
trebleshot
Making assumptions and generalizations to support a given theory IS opinion, whether it is explicitly or implicitly stated as such in his post. Also, I have no idea where you got the idea that he is telling you to like something or not. He made certain assumptions, which in your particular case are incorrect.
I never said you couldn't use them, only that terms like that can be misinterpreted quite easily without any further explanation. I also find it ironic that you are criticizing O.Supreme for not explicitly stating that his post was opinion (when it obviously was) and in the same breath expecting everyone to automatically understand that you are "speaking from [your] perspective."
I wasn't referring to you insulting him specifically, I was referring to your "sheep culture" comment. You talk about unfair/inaccurate generalizations and yet you're basically doing the same thing. My opinion of Armada has absolutely nothing to do with my opinion of any other TF show that came before or after it. I judge each show solely on its own merits/detriments and I take offense any time someone implies that I cannot think for myself.
I like how you conveniently skipped over the "I would think" part of his sentence. Those three words right there should tell you it's his opinion based on certain assumptions (Animated and Prime being better shows than Armada). Nowhere in that statement does he tell you what your opinion should be – he is merely stating what he thought your opinion might be, given your age group and first exposure to Transformers. Obviously, he was wrong in your case.
The preorder on Amazon was linked in the news story you quoted.
The funny part is when Tony posted it, Amazon had it for $31 and change. Now it's up to $40.49 (10% off of the list price of $44.99).
