For our next gallery, we proudly present a look at Takara-Tomy’s latest entry into the Transformers Masterpiece series, MP-18 Streak! Streak, better known to Western fans as Bluestreak or Silverstreak, is the a member of the Datsun Fairlady Z trio along with Prowl and Smokescreen. He’s the understated one usually, although as this Masterpiece release proves, Streak is every bit as awesome as the other Datsun Autobots.
Streak is, simply put, a joy. He looks excellent in both modes with a fantastic deco and an excellent design. The deco is phenomenal, with the black and the silver both being nice and glossy, and the figure’s robot mode perfectly capturing the spirit of the animation design. Streak is a worthy update to the original character and a brilliant addition to the Masterpiece line, building on the strong showing already put forward by Prowl and Sideswipe.
With Smokescreen set to release soon, and Bumblebee and Wheeljack ahead of us in 2014, we’re extremely excited for what’s coming next in the Masterpiece line. Check out our gallery by SydneyY by opening the link below and see why!

Would anyone be willing to scan and upload a copy of the transformation instructions that come with him? It would be super appreciated!

Can't wait to own all 3 Datsun brothers, cool

So true. It was a blob and a streak (no pun intended) of silver paint that didn't match the spray painted parts. It caught the light differently too and it irked me so much. Streak's vehicle mode looks so good that I couldn't live with the blemish.

As a small kid, I always like Bluestreak, hence loving this MP18

I don't know why factories do this—-a tiny little chip or hairline scratch looks 10x better and is far harder to see, than a big 3-dimensional BLOB of paint on top trying to "fix" it. Just leave it alone! The fix is uglier than the flaw.

My MP Prowl has that with his left wheel as well. It seems to rub on the wheel well somewhere. But if I fiddle with it a bit, it goes away and rolls just fine. MP Bluestreak doesn't have this issue.
Yup, mine seems to be very well made and painted. No slop, scratches, or bleeds. I was worried most about the shiny black hood. Thankfully, that came out well on mine.
I've always liked Bluestreak, but I was never really crazy about him. He was just sort of "there" among the other Autobots. So was Sunstreaker, but at least I have more of an attachment to him for other reasons. But I have to say, after holding and transforming MP Bluestreak today (I got him this afternoon), he's really grown on me. I have a G1 TRU reissue of the toy as well. But this MP somehow brings out a lot more with this guy than the G1 toy does. At least for me. I've always liked Smokescreen the most, then Prowl, and then Bluestreak. But now, I think Prowl has been demoted to #3. Still a GREAT MP though.

My Prowls back right wheel has the same problem..

Just received Streak in hand. Paint is perfect, and man is he awesome. So many nice little mold differences from Prowl (even the back of the helmet is different). Just fantastic.

As far as being iconic, the autobot symbol was based off of the datsun face…

Take the Budiansky/Marvel bios, and put them into a Beast Wars quality show. Still a lot of untapped potential there. And I mean a lot.
I think you have to understand the importance of a character's legacy isn't just how many lines they had in the TF show. Prowl and Bluestreak carry what is really the iconic Autobot transformation – extended hood chest and door wings. They're a little anime without putting it in your face. The head crests only help accentuate this.
They're extremely recognizable and have helped shape the look of TransFormers. Look at movie Bumblebee as an unfortunate example. Look at most police car TF's that take the Japanese styling like Prowl.
Just because they haven't been overused, doesn't mean they don't have a lot of character and a lot of popularity. People can deny it to themselves all they want, but they're iconic legends.

One of my Streaks had a similar problem at the same spot and the factory tried to cover it by hand painting over the scratches. Looked awful.
Thankfully, my second Streak is fine.

Such a lovely gallery of an awesome figure. Props to ya, Syd!

Mine doesn't have any trouble. My Prowl sorta does – the front left wheel doesn't really roll well. I don't see anything getting in the way, so it's probably an issue with the pin.

I agree with some of the earlier posters about Prowl as a character. He had almost no screentime. Any importance he had was added later in comics. Even the G1 comic didn't use him much until his action master came out in 1990.
As evidence of Prowl and Bluestreak's status as nonentities, I point out that they both did so little of note, that Takara couldn't even think of optional show specific accessories like the rest of the mps.
With that being said, I take my personal tf fiction from the tf universe series from 1986ish. Roll with Budiansky and make your own fiction I say.

Bought Streak yesterday but the QC is still hit and miss. stratches on the glass parts on the car.

That was kind of my worry when I saw that, too.
That's good. So he rolls along a smooth surface without a problem then?

Those are his forearms. They're supposed to sit a little higher up into the hood/chest cavity in vehicle mode. They definitely don't drag on the ground.
