Keith’s Fantasy Club via Griffith Keith on Facebook have revealed the third phase of their EAVI Metal series (with phase 1 being the Mugan Scope not-Perceptor and variants and phase 2 being the teased not-Sky Byte, Sharkticon and Brave Captain Shark). Phase 3 of EAVI Metal is “New Leader”, an unofficial and very Generation 1 styled Ultra Magnus. Initial CGI concept images show the classic Generation 1 car carrier alternate mode, and a robot mode sharing the aesthetic of Mugan Scope. Check out the images and see what you make of this latest unofficial take on the duly appointed enforcer of the Tyrest accord.

So, I actually didn't post here with the thinking I'm getting this figure anytime soon.
Frankly, I have quite a bit of other figures to get and such.
But….
I recently came across the right deal:
KFC Citizen Stack MIB with the add-on head for $70 shipped.
Naturally, I jumped on it.
I got this figure in Wednesday, and couldn't be happier with it.
Now, mind you, I just wanted this figure on its own merits; in other words, I just wanted to have one just to have one.
My MP-22 is very content where it is, and I do have plans to get the XTB offering for Magnus.
This is also not my first experience with this figure, as I've had the "Powered Convoy/Delta Magnus" version for a few years now.
Even then, I just regretted not getting one.
It's not bad in truck mode, but I think by now we're all well aware of this figure's shortcomings.
Frankly, it's a cool figure for what it is.
It's interesting to see how it compares to newer figures, yet it still has a presence all it's own.

$10! How generous! :S The absolute cheek of it!

It took a while, but I was able to wedge, force, and pry everything apart without damaging the paint. The seller did refund me $10 for my trouble.
Ottertron
Fucking hell, open a claim!!
nericen
Pretty pissed. I just bought this guy on Ebay for $50 including most of the Toy Hax stickers, but missing his gun. However, the description failed to mention the figure had been glued into it's current position. The knees, the elbows, and all around the torso!
Cynicron
Like I said, it includes the SXS kit too. Sure, I could get him for $100 on Robotoybase and get the kit separately on Uncle Billy Shop, but the prices for those, plus their respective shipping, will assuredly come around to the same price, if not more. That's the impasse I'm at right now.
Guess I'll hit up the buy/sell/trade scene.
DrCalligari
Agreed, also, I love your videos man!
Cardboard Bots
That sounds too expensive to me. You could probably get it for around 100 plus shipping. I suggest looking around and asking at buy/sell/trade groups.
Superquad7
I like it.
Cynicron
Would anyone say getting this guy for $140, which includes the SXS kit and shipping, be worth it? I've been hunting for a good IDW Magnus.

A stop motion animated review.

I have him too. I will echo that he’s a great display piece, but I worry about his play factor. There are some flimsy bits. I’m still looking for that perfect Ultra Magnus. (Masterpiece is too toon slavish for me).
This guy is actually my Maximus Ambus. In that context, he’s absolutely perfect.
Decepticon13
I liked Stack overall but TO ME the figure felt a little bit cheap- lightweight, somewhat flimsy- compared to more current figures. If you want that IDW look and are ok with a more "toy" quality figure though you'd be ok I think. I do highly recommend the replacement head set by SXS though. SO much better. I still have my SXS head set as I was going to transplant the head on to my THF KO Magnus but I may never get to it, lol.

I have the Dia Commander version. I like it, but it definitely feels dated now. The plastic is all of good quality and the tolerances are all pretty good; though the hips are pretty squeaky. It's enormous, which is really cool on a shelf, but makes it a giant pain to transform because everything is heavy and flops around. A lot of people don't like the face sculpt, but I'm fine with it. It's a little flat, but the helmet is nice. I paid $80 for mine, which feels like a bit much nowadays. If you can get him for $60, I think it's worth it. If size isn't a factor, I think the Magic Square Transporter is a far superior design. It's just tiny.
Cardboard Bots
I really enjoy mine. He's very much a "toy" and less a collector's item. I have both stack and dai stack, and I use the sxs head on dai stack. Got them all fairly cheap.
Scourgatron
It should. I bought mine from him. I think it was $18. That original head is trash. Looks like a puppet.
3P is so much better, now.
ByLaw77
I think I may have found the SXS upgrade on Uncle Billy. Fingers crossed that it’ll make it to me.
Scourgatron
If you can find him cheap, are OK with him being gigantic, SXS head, being gentle…
Then he is a cool Magnus.
ByLaw77
I am looking at picking up one of these. I think he nails the IDW aesthetic better than any other option (toon Magnus is chubby and lame by comparison).
But many reviews of him seem kinda meh. Few seem to really love him.
Scourgatron
For the $55 I paid for him, he certainly found it.
