Also in Transformers comics news, digital entertainment company Madefire announced on their Twitter Feed that Transformers Autocracy, Episode 1 has now been released as a “Motion Comic.” Motion Comics are a hybrid between a comic book and a cartoon, with limited animation, sound effects, and even music being added to the digital version of a comic book. This marks the first time that a Transformers book has been adapted into this format.
A link to a short preview appears after the break. A preview can be found here: Transformers – Autocracy – Episode 1

Except when it comes to Android. iOS still gets all the apps first, because Android users don't like to spend money on apps.
Ra88
It's not official so it doesn't technically count.
Though there WAs an official one: The movie comic, that was even included with the DVD of the first movie.
Anti Spark
I love it!!!
jbot
Not bad. Needs more super loud transformation noises.
Hikuro
Actually, this isn't the first Transformers book in comic motion. Transformers The War Within animated Episode 1 part 1 – YouTube good friend Nigel with the help of TFCog did 2 episodes of the War Within with sound effects and voices. It even got Don's approval. So maybe madefire should take a lesson from that.

Motion comics have always been…kind of a crappy format. Either be a comic or a cartoon, don't take the worst of both worlds.
unicronic
And of course the Madefire App is iOS only. So much for understanding that ubiquitous means more eyeballs means more money.
AngryChad
Yeah, unfortunately pointless without voice acting
reave
Because no one wants these. It sounds neat on paper, but comics are meant to be read…. on paper.

Better than reading rainbow at least. Besides, I don't see DC and Marvel making motion comics for their best selling titles.
transtrekkie
Oh yeah, I wasn't commenting on the quality (although that one does at least have voice acting) I was just saying that this isn't the first time like the OP claimed it was.
Autovolt 127
Then what's the fucking point of a motion comic if they lack voice acting.
IDW, you should have taken up Michael Bell's proposal. This is simply unacceptable.
Jalaguy
No voices, just sound effects.
Nothing about this appeals to me. The sound effects are kinda obnoxious, and the motion doesn't really add anything spectacular to the reading experience. To be honest, I think voice acting would be the only thing that could sell me on this kind of thing…
Autovolt 127
So who does the voices. I haven't seen it yet but I'd like to know who was casted in the roles.
SPLIT LIP
RIP headphone users.
TFfanOP
I had my headphones on. I am now deaf.
I kinda don't like the sounds. I would be just fine if it had the dialog popping up and some small, subtle animations.
Ce2Know
I checked it out. Always can be improved, but I applaud the efforts right now. Time will tell if its gonna be a great thing or simply throw away.

I really wish that DeviantArt preview gave a warning about the sound. My speakers are on LOW and I still nearly blew out my ears since the preview itself is set to MAX. Ow, ow, ow…
The "stalling engine" sound needed a far longer loop, too.

I was sort of hoping for voice acting like that Iron Man one on netflix. Boo.
YakMaster003
And if I recall correctly, it wasn't all that hot back then either.
I appreciate the attempt and would love to see this applied from the very beginning. I agree with scubaboy: the sound and animation is very jarring. From comments on the page, though, there are plenty of people who like it.
