During a Press Event for his new movie; Guns 2, actor Mark Wahlberg explained the “Human Element” of Transformers 4:
“I give [Jack] a lot of shit in this movie. I didn’t know my daughter had a boyfriend and then all of a sudden, this punk kid is thrust into my life and I have to deal with him while dealing with this very extraordinary set of circumstances…I have to entrust the most important thing in my life to him at a certain stage in the movie, ‘if something happens to me then protect my little girl’. I love the human element of the movie.”Being an experienced actor, Mr. Wahlberg has also given advice to Jack Reynor and Nicola Peltz on how to deal with the life after a big movie like Transformers.
Mark Wahlberg also shared difficulties he had while working with a new camera rig.

I hate getting sucked in, because Michael Bay always dissapoints – he's no film artist alas.
But Walhberg is really funny and smart and he has charisma – he could make this film better than the last – but I wish there was A REAL DIRECTOR.

One of the reasons why it was the worst iteration of TF by far.
You could not be more wrong.

There's no reason in the world why we can't all share a hobby and like/dislike different aspects about it as well as treat each other well while doing so.

I like Mark W. as an actor I think he will bring his role to real quality, but if I want to see Humans I will watch the other 15 million movies out this summer. I want to se Transformers.
But it is Hasbro in control of this, they are the "Make it poor sell it" company. Look at the most recent figures.
it cost a lot to have the graphical figures "on screen" so they fill 3/4 of the movie with people. So it will take 1.5 hours to establish he loves his daughter and hates the boyfriend but then realizes the boyfriend loves his daughter. Awe how cute, Silly me I wanted to see robots beat the F*@& out of each other. But no the love story sounds so much more bad ass. *sarcasm*
I didn't see pacific rim yet but the commercials already have more robot time in them than Transformers. Very Sad!
My hope is one day A Japanese film maker/producer will approach Takara and then we will get the Quality and type of movie that will serve the standards that the Transformers Brand deserves.

**EDITED TO REFLECT MODERATION**
In reference to what I was talking about earlier, I seem to remember people getting warnings and infractions for this a few years ago. I don't think we're supposed to out right call anyone an idiot around here, but maybe I wrong. I remember it being different.
The underlying theme here seems to be "You can't make fun of these movies or you're an idiot", but when one of says "The movie is idiotic", people lose their minds. Or if I said "so and so is an idiot for liking the movie", I'd be taken to task, so I don't say these things.

Pepperidge Farm remembers.

I am not asking for a movie without a human element, or even human perspective. Now in my opinion the biggest problem is when that human perspective goes into the absurd, this is most clearly seen when Bay tries to be "funny".
Most everything in the TF Bay movies was really bad, but the "human element" stood out the most because it was unabashedly bad.
I really do believe this all comes from a lack of respect of the material and the intelligence of its audience. I am not looking for an Oscar here, but the TF movies have been reduced to nothing more then mindless cash cow dribble.

Remember when Transformers was about transforming robots?
Autovolt 127
I wished the human element was toned down. the humans shouldn't be able to match the Decepticons out of firepower and the Transformers out of screen-time.
HuffR_WFCTX_91135
Instead of going to the cinema I'm just going to get it on dvd since it's just more of the same.

To those clamoring for a story without significant human involvement: no one is listening anymore.
I've been a fan of this franchise since it began, and Spike was always the stand in for us kids who were learning about the Autobots and Decepticons and their ongoing war. We discovered everything through his eyes. And like it or not, without a human perspective and human/earth based involvement, the characters and the story would lose much of their relevence and relatability.
AngryLester
So in other words, the same story as Armagedon?!? Real creative Michael Bay.
Think122
So the human element is about :
"OMG my little girl is growing up and SURPRISE she has a loser boyfriend who now I have to deal with…..all while saving the WORLD! and there is this one part were as part of our bonding/growing I have to trust him and he totally comes through, I guess Son your alright….."
Talk about a super dad……….
Its unfortunate all the awesome potential of Transformers has been wasted.
My only hope is that maybe 12 years from now, in the year 2025 after everyone has come to grips with the trash that is the bayformer franchise that some brave and smart director will actually look to make a good TF movie….a man can dream
Arashistorm
So it seems like Mark will be the main guy and his daughter/her boyfriend will just be the side element. Sounds good, so the father gets thrust into the danger? Definitely not what I expected, but I'm excited anyways
TFW10
Human element, hhmm, I would rather have more transformers transform and fight each other than have a human element.
Oh well, can't have it all.
I may have to skip this movie. There will be TF5 & TF6.
Snoopy Magnus
to me mark has always been one of those actors who truely seems to enjoy every single aspect about being an actor and always give everything to every movie regardless of the role or the paycheck. good for him. looking forward to seeing him more and the crazy ass s**t that bay is going to put him in more than the robits.
MV95
This was one interview about one specific topic of the movie. Chill Every live action movie for years to come (even with different directors) is going to have a human story because it takes place on Earth.
leov36
Father, daughter with a punk boyfriend……what's Transformers about again?
Balance? The movie is called Transformers. There is a shit ton of Transformer characters made up over the years, use em.
