This just in from Botcon 2013… Not 100% confirmed, but our very own Sol Fury is already at Botcon in San Diego, and he has seen the official shirt for this years show. The shirt features Megaplex and Skywarp from the set, along with Thundercracker (Skywarp repaint) and Starscream (redeco from the HftD Terradive mold).
Whether these guys get released as the show exclusives isn’t known for sure, but it’s a pretty safe bet. Stay tuned through the weekend for breaking Transformers news and images!
UPDATE: 2005 Board member Deltagod has posted pics of his freebie souvenir, confirming thr figure to be Starscream from the Hunt For The Decepticons Terradive mold. For those curious, it appears to be using the existing head mold. Click on the title bar to view two in package images.

I agree but 1 more use of the mold besides MW Soundwave – I gotta have Predator Stalker – endoscopic claw for $5 extra optional
Ra88
If there's ONE AEC mold that should have been used for the final time, it really should have been CD Red Alert. There is no other figure that works for MW Soundwave.
But I guess that makes it better that Soundwave is not in it (this year). In a way it's better to get nothing than to get a missed opportunity.

I say in my own personal fiction that this new Starscream will eventually reappear in Beast Wars 2nd.
Boy Blunder
Doesn't the bio technically ID him as a clone of Starscream, just as Skywarp is a clone, and the G2 Gobots are all clones in the Club stories? If that's the case, I think people can stop fussing about it being "poor execution" of MW Starscream.
As it is, I find it quite awesome. Can't wait to get him in-hand tonight.

Plus, the awesomeness that was Darksyde Megatron should have retired that mold, hung it in the rafters.
Scourge_151
Looks very nice actually, probably the only toy out of the ones we've seen so far that I like!
Thundershot
Maybe there's a chance to get Soundwave in a subscription figure.
Though I'm still hoping for Waspinator.

They made a concious decision to not touch Unicron Trilogy molds for modern Botcon exclusives.
Plus it seems like they only have preference towards Voyagers as the largest size they make as a exclusive.
Dirge121
Starscream looks ace, the rest of the set not so much. Still wondering why no Cybertron Defense Red Alert with a new head as Soundwave.
Dragonclaw
Starscream makes me want to customise a Prime Skyquake into B.B. for a BW2 set
Ikkstakk
Starscream looks great in jet mode, but in robot mode he somehow manages to look like a Star Wars Crossover figure.

So… Before they used Dreadwing, what mold was Megaplex going to use originally? Someone at Botcon will need to ask.. Probably the club round table.
General Tekno
Yeah; it's a good deco on a good mold, and I STRONGLY suspect that they made the choice they did because of the head.
After all, with the current mold selection, Megaplex KINDA works if you stretch it and Starscream works well, headwise….. flip them and suddenly both NEED new heads. And that's an important consideration for the club.
Anguirus
^ Agreed.
In a sort of pure aesthetic sense I really admire the set of Decepticon jets this year.
Don't need 'em though.
Foster
Starscream looks mighty fine. You'd be hard-pressed to screw up the Terradive mold with a black deco.
Starscream0625
That really looks great. And the head sculpt is already similar to that of the original Machine Wars Starscream. And that deco looks quite faithful, too.
Swoop Dogg
I dig the Starscream – it's my favorite figure of this year's set.
Ra88
Looking at it objectively, it's a really cool repaint and maybe even the best looking version of that mold.
But looking at it as an update of MW Starscream…It completely and utterly fails. This really should have been the mold used for Megaplex, especially with the trident capable of being mounted on the arm like a cannon and the wing panels on the legs simulating the look of G1 Megatron's legs.
Feralstorm
The terradive mold is kind of a skinny-boy, so I postulate it is actually Machine Wars PRIME Starscream
Too bad the Prime Dreadwing mold was supposedly such a last-minute opportunity. If I were to armchair quarterback it, I'd let some other go without a new head so Megaplex could have one, and also use the mold for Starscream with the original Shredder-helmeted head.
