Takara-tomy have uploaded a trailer for Transformers Go! on to their Youtube channel. The preview shows a brief clip of Kenzan racing into action and transforming – in Feudal Japan, no less! The clip demonstrates that the animation will be a hybrid of styles, combining cel animation with CG robots, and combining the detailed Japanese stock transformation style with the on-the-fly style used in Transformers Prime.
Also of interest is that there are some brief snippets of character bio (in Japanese). The combined modes are named GouKenzan, GouJinbu and GouGanoh based on which one out of Kenzan, Jinbu and Ganoh forms the upper body. In the footage Jinbu can also be heard describing himself as possessing advanced speed or agility, and Ganoh boasts that his power is “number one”. Although not confirmed in the video, this fan would expect that these attributes carry over to the respective combined forms.
Check out the video clip below – and it might also be worth noting that there will also apparently be a McDonalds Happy Meal special DVD.

wow, really menacing look for GO! Predacons!
RedWolf
Can't help but think of Super Sentai considering the heroes are Samurai and Ninjas while the villains are demons.
Interesting that an early symbol for the Predacons look like an Oni.

Hmmm very demonic look they're going for with that head crest. I like it.

Dang it man, I posted mine first!
I'm sure this'll be a fun diversion. It's existence is certainly no harm, although it further cements that, at beast, the Beast Hunters TV show will end up running on a Satellite channel 5 years from now, if at all.

And we have yet another clip! Courtesy once again of Takaratomy's youtube channel.

From what I can gather, the Transformers are sealed within these "legend discs" which have been just sort of hanging around since the sengoku period (hence the old-timey bits) and are now in the hands of various people. I'm guessing that the Samurai team has ended up in the hands of the young boy we see, who then summons them whenever someone releases a Predacon.
Man. This is so Brave that it hurts. And I'm loving every second of it.

I'm kind of wondering if the Beast Hunters Predacon Rising movie is going to be a dub of this. Extremely unlikely I know but I thought it would be interesting to share.
Shatterpoint
It's red.
Autovolt 127
Who would you want to dub this? Ocean, Bang Zoom!/Studiopolis, Funimation or NYAV?
VictoryLeo19
Is that a purple colored Grimwing next to that red predaking? Awesome. I'm definitely getting that if it is.

and technically that was set in romance of the 3 kingdoms china-esque gundamland. there has been samurai themed gundams since the late 80s and just couple year ago they have samurai gundams named after actual japanese generals of the warring states period.

To those saying this isn't 3D CGI or Prime is 3D CGI – your both wrong and right a lot of the art is painting rather than a 3D mesh in Prime. and then some is 3D and some isn't this new art is 2D style art backgrounds and people (unlike Prime's 3D people) but the Robots are in part or in total 3D as well just like they were in Transformers Cybertron/Galaxy Force. The only real difference he is the how the things are shaded and lit – It would be interesting to see a show that is "dark lit" rather than bright cartoon colours applied to Transformers that might provide a fresh look. you get a slightly more mature look but you'd benefit from more easily animated humans… ( I don't think they need to look like the all escaped from a 1980's Final Fantasy game though) May be the Japanese could attempt a new art style from time to time ?
Brave Magnus
Me wants to see this OVA right now!!!!

Koei's naming sense is just off. If they wanted the trend of 'warriors' they would've went with Gundam Warriors (Gundam Musoiu roughly translates to 'Gundam Incomparable'). But that sounds even more generic.
H.E.X.-BRAVE
oopss!! i meant the Samurai Warriors part of the Dynasty Warriors games series, i blame Koei for their generic game titles minus Dynasty Warriors: Gundam which is basically the english version of the title
Roanstalker
Samurai Warriors is the one based on Sengoku.
aptkane
Lol, not to be a prick, because, believe me, I get what you're doing here and I'm a fan of Bay-BS based comedy…but Dynasty Warriors is the story of China, not Japan.
Bay: SO there's these samurai, right? then 'SPLOSIONS!!!!! ALL OVER JUST BCAAAAOW! PSCCHHHER, BEEEROWM!, then these robot cars jump up out of the ground!
lol.
soybean56
When the car ramped over the hordes of soldiers, my world got a little more complete!! I was already all-in for the Shinobi team, but I may need the Samurai team now.
PrimusVsUnicron
must be that red Predaking toy
H.E.X.-BRAVE
who hired Michael Bay to do a Dynasty Warriors movie?
Bay: "& then suddenly there is a damn police car, a jet, & a fire truck breaking out of the ground which then turned into robots, cuz that be so @#$%ing badass!!"
Producer: "uh mr. Bay sir, this movie is about a war in medieval era Japan sir!"
Bay: "are you questioning my genius-ness!?, also don't forget to add bikini clad ninja girls cuz every movies need bikini clad ninja girls!"

So which particular TF series isn't a "blatant cash-grab" one?
