Here is the first of two “good news” stories for Masterpiece collectors – Masterpiece Soundwave is going to get a second run in Japan! The reissue is set for September 2013 and will be at the original price of 15,800 yen. This is great news if you wanted to pick up this definitive version of Generation 1 Soundwave and missed out on the first time. Don’t forget he is also coming to the US as a Toys R Us exclusive with all five of his cassettes later this year!
This news comes via a selection of retailers and Japanese blogs including our own sponsors Robot Kingdom!

HLJ is only about 240 yen higher than Amiami. And if you have a POL going at HLJ it will definitely be cheaper than Amiami.
SurlyJ
Well, he came and went at amiami quite quickly.

You got that right, I'm not paying a 80+ price tag for Red Alert that I'm not fully happy with. Love the red head on him as it's show accurate but when you get to the leg, it's red/toy accurate now. What happen to the white leg? Pass. Now, if it was 25-50, that's a different story. Hopefully, Hasbro comes to the rescue.

You seem like a smart guy. In a perfect world, there would be enough TRU Soundwaves to fulfill the demand of collectors everywhere. But the thing is: TRU Soundwave – by a combination of factors – will probably be difficult to acquire. It's basically a Masterpiece-level Value Pack. It'll sell out fast, leaving a number of people in the dust. And when you factor that, in tandem with the "yellow visor vs. red visor" debate, then the Takara version – especially at its lower re-run price – will still hold its appeal. To many, Takara's will be a contingency plan. Maybe I'll end up being wrong about this, but let's not be so dismissive of the Takara version's appeal. And that's pretty much all I'm going to say about that.

Consult me for what,i am not any big shot. This is a forum & I am just speaking my point of view in general & logically. Do you think one collector will pay more to get a MP Soundwave with 1 cassette rather than get a cheaper MP Soundwave with 5 cassettes, moreover exactly same mold.
Stepper
I guess everyone of us here are keeping our finger cross for Hasbro Sideswipe & Red Alert.
Satomiblood
Something tells me TT should've consulted with you before making this decision.

I wonder what the odds are we'll get Sideswipe and Red Alert re-issued soon? I'd definitely want a crack at a cheaper Red Alert.
Stepper
Not really because most of the collectors whom collect TakTomy MP have had their Soundwave, hence this re-run is actually not feasible too because Hasbro MP Soundwave will be out soon, more over Hasbro MP Soundwave cost lesser.
Satomiblood
A lot of people.

Same here, except I bought it about a week ago. They got me.
Stepper
Sorry my bad,it should be going to be out soon.

Out where?
Stepper
Since Hasbro MP Soundwave is out,who cares for TakTomy version.

My guess is that they weren't planning on the 2nd run at all. They had preorders for the $230 re-stock up for what, a month? Stock arrived in early June, just as they said it would. And then less than a week later the restock hits and all of their competitors have it listed at the original price.
If they knew the 2nd run was happening, I doubt they would have ordered so many from the original run at higher prices only to sit on them.

I went ahead and pre-ordered from AE. $112 is just too good to pass up. I don't think I've ever seen the value of an MP go below original retail. So If I do wind up getting the Hasbro version selling MP-13 shouldn't be too tough on the old wallet. The other thing I thought about was, I don't really need the repaints of the tapes. If the Hasbro version turns out to only be $100, what's to say I couldn't pull Rumble and Ravage out of that set and sell the rest for $50-60 and still do better than buying the $60 MP-15 set.

Hmmm….should i wait for TRU to get this or just make a preorder at hlj, giving me a 50/50 chance of getting one.
