Yesterday’s all-new episode of Transformers Prime Beast Hunters, Thirst, saw the return of Breakdown as subverted by the human villain and MECH leader Silas. CyLAS or Silas Breakdown as he is known combines Breakdown’s mechanical might with Silas’ cunning tactical mind – though as you might have seen in Thirst, there was a bit more going on there too.
Transformers Prime Arms Micron Silas Breakdown was a Japan exclusive release, and the third outing for the Japan-only Voyager Class Prime Breakdown mold after War Breakdown and Autobot Swerve. For this release, the mold was redecoed in black, with a new head tooling and a chromed bumper. It is not really show accurate (in the show, CyLAS deco was a more worn version of Breakdown’s, with no bumper) but it is a very pleasing and dynamic deco all the same. In a nice touch, the sticker sheet comes with a lot of extra optional stickers including ones to represent battle damage and scarring on the metal armor, allowing you to customize your Silas Breakdown with scarred armor, or as I have done with mine keep his black body unmarked and “clean”. Another nice touch is the inclusion of a remolded portion of the stomach area to incorporate a molded human Silas wired into Breakdown, as seen in the cartoon.
Silas Breakdown’s Arms Micron partner is a preying mantis, Magi, which transforms into a claw weapon. Again it is not based on a weapon that Silas or Breakdown ever used in the show to my knowledge, but the style of it fits Silas, his background and his fighting style perfectly.
Overall, Silas Breakdown is a fantastic release. The additional sticker details allow for a full range of customization, and the base toy is one of the best developed for the Transformers Prime line – more the pity, then, that it never made it to markets outside of Japan.

While Noideaforaname is correct, as the exact reason hasn't been stated, I'd stick to my theory. That or an aspect of the design wouldn't pass american safety standards, and it would be too costly to bring it into compliance.
The "industry" has been this way for quite some time. You budget a specific amount of money for a project. The project is then designed within this budget. Voyager/Deluxe, etc. Breakdown wasn't designed within this budget resulting in him floating in this "no mans land".

We really don't know specifically why Hasbro can't release Breakdown, just that they can't:
I do wonder why they never at least made a (Beast Hunters?) Deluxe to kinda make up for it. Seems like that'd have been a better choice than Dreadwing. On the other hand, it kinda fits the character, given how he ALWAYS ends up with the short stick on the show…

What the f***k is a "parts limit"? Are you saying that the industry has gotten so ridiculous that they are keeping themselves from making not only quality products but profit by creating idiotic regulations such as "parts limits"? That's unbelievable.
edgs2099
IIRC, the reason you won't see a release of the AM Breakdown is that the design is over the parts limit for a Hasbro Voyager class figure.

When are we going to get an american release of breakdown/silas? And why haven't we gotten one already along with unicron, vehicon jet, smokescreen, and etc.

I won't lie, I still would to have this mold if the prices for it ever lower…..
Grimwing
Its going to ship with my Terminus Hexatron. Definitely looking forward to it. the regular breakdown has been going for way more than what I've been willing to spend.
But I think I can make do with Cylas just for the sake of the mold.

Thanks for the spoiler, I haven't had a chance to see the newest episode.
ReDevil
Giza and Bog I guess they are. The only ones I dont have there, thats why I had to ask lol Thanks
Sol Fury
Not sure which outer two you mean, so I'll list them off as best I can:
L to R – Giza (Nemesis Prime), Jida (Terrorcon Cliffjumper), Shadow Gora (exclusive recolor of Megatron's Micron), Magi, Baro (Skywarp), Zori (single pack release of Soundwave's Micron), Dai (single pack release), Bog (Gaia Unicron).
Front row, Bal is on the left and Gab is on the right, they're single pack ones too. Bal, Gab and Dai merge into the Dark Matter Calibre.

Who are the outer two microns? Or who do they come with?

Haha, actually more like after last week's preview showed he'd be turning up, my first reaction was "okay, if I'm ever posting this one, then next week is the ideal time, so I'd better finish it"
The chrome was a real pain to work with, and editing it to show up all nicely took a long time. Glad you guys enjoy the pics – it makes it all worthwhile

I see you got to work on this after last nights episode.

I too am a proud owner of this magnificent figure.
I got mine at a discount due to an erroneously-placed hinge pin.
SG Roadbuster
seriously, Hasbro needs to do another set of GDO type figures. just so we can catch up to Takara again. It'll be a good way to stretch out the prime line a little longer until we get flooded with Movie garbage
Voyager wave can consist of one each of Breakdown and Silas/terrorcon Breakdown, two Unicrons, and 2 nemesis primes
a deluxe wave of 2 Ironhides, 2 Wildriders, 2 Jet vehicons, 1 Skywarp, and 1 Thundercracker
and instead of Scouts and legions just multipack the crap outta some arms microns. 4 packs on a scout card, 2 packs on a legion card.

So when is Hasbro going to put out a Breakdown? I don't need a Syrus or zombie versions or the coolest paint job, I just want a Breakdown that i don't need to import.
raptordriver
Maybe Terrorcon Breakdown will show up as a SDCC exclusive. First time for the mold in the USA, I couldn't think of a better time to debut it. Especially follwing up from the Terrorcon Cliffjumper from a couple years ago.

I love this figure sooooo much, I have one myself in my neo-G1 collection as my Doctor Arkeville

Nice gallery. Always did like the Breakdown mold. Cool character, great transformation, and nicely chunky alt mode vehicle. His arms micron is a little daft but not so bad; I just call him Scalpel a la the little evil Con doctor character from ROTF.
