Site Sponsor TFSource just sent us some photos of prototypes for the highly-anticipated Masterpiece figures Prowl and Streak! While they are a bit on the small side of things, we get an additional look at these up-coming figures in both modes. While we have seen the attack mode feature and the missile launchers before in a previous news article, these photos tell us that TakaraTomy is surely marching on with the Masterpiece line! Ol’ Quaddy here distinctly remembers the excitement seeing the first Masterpiece prototype of MP-01 Convoy along with Binaltech Smokescreen, and these evoke much the same excitement!
If you haven’t secured your preorders for these two figures, be sure to jump on over to TFSource to make sure you get yours! Prowl can be found here and Streak can be found here.

They are the same size. Do a search here or on Google and you can find pictures of this guy alongside MP Sideswipe.

I wonder if they are bigger to same size as lambo MPs

I think he was just making a comment on the the way the launchers deploy and not the overall look/quality of the figure. Aside from the extra step of extending the barrels, I'm not seeing much difference between how these launchers work compared to those on the Universe figure.
Superquad7
Note the transforming gun handle for attack mode as well. Man . . .
Soundwave2
Exactly. If its a perfectly working feature and simple enough, why change it? And how else were people really expecting shoulder cannons to be stored?

I'm not in the custom of telling people their opinions are wrong as they are opinions but I'll make an exception. This opinion is so wrong in so many ways, it's actually ridiculous!
These scans are beautiful, I wouldn't even mind owning the protoype, to be honest. September, October or whenever your release date is can't come soon enough, Prowl!
Starscream Gaga
It's actually not at all, but OK.
grymg
meh, just like Universe Prowl
Stepper
The launcher is well hidden,nice

Can anyone translate ?

this.
almost as good as the metroplex "teaser"….after weve already seen the whole damn bot.

AGREE… If you think of it, MASTERPIECE is just a toy LABEL signature. It does not have anything to do with toy QUALITY. Oh well miss those day.

I saw the original protos for MP1 and couldn't wait! But was disappointed by short smokestacks (Australian release).
Since then I started importing from Japan or buying from import stores and getting superior versions and never looked back.
I'm glad MP10 local release didn't get short stacks – but the Japan version still has better paint apps and accuracy of colors. The eyes look dead but I painted mine metallic blue so got the best of both worlds

seeing these prototypes got me thinking…back in the days of alts there were quite a few prototypes and early test shots going on sale. Don't see much any more. I guess Hasbro/Takara has tighten up the security.
Megatron31
for those who think this is a step backwards, while it seems odd the color images we have seen were likely painted prototypes (rapid prototype) and these new images are possibly prototypes from the injection mold tooling (test shots)
while i agree its a bit unorthodox to do it that way, its was probably just to build hype for these figures.

I think this IS the case. After getting screwed out of Soundwave. I canceled all three of my MP car preorders at TF Source and took them over to BBTS. Sure you can get free shipping at TF Source if your order is over $150, but if they don't get enough of the figures to fill the orders what good is free shipping?
Stepper
That is sure 1 kind of marketing strategy.
blackma
Yep, but seems TFsource just wanted to draw our attention to these… coz they need more preorders!!
Maybe Soundwave's problem is making people preorder these in other sites
JetBrawn
the first time to actually see it, though that feature had already been announced for the Nissan-bots
not a particularly impressive sight with the rifle mounted, same as with the Lambor-tanks
weapon-storage, yes. A feature that I'll use or enjoy, not really. Some folks will appreciate it, though.
Stepper
Am also wondering too since we have seen the colored photos, more or less the figure size is around there.
