The Transformers Collector’s Club has provided another update to the Botcon 2013 site today. Following hot on the heels of the Bot mode image of Machine Wars Skywarp we now have our first look at his alt mode!
Check out the picture on Botcon.com, and keep an eye on that site or the frontpage right here at TFW for more convention news!

I'm trying to figure out what the point of using an existing Prime mold to be MW Prime would be. I'm not sure you could change the colors enough to make it different enough from the retail version to be worth doing, and if you did, it wouldn't resemble MW Prime anymore (since that one actually DID have traditional Prime colors. It just didn't have a Prime-like head).

The more I look at this, the more I want Waspinator. It can be a subscription figure, even! Ditto for Electro from Hoist.

They wont use a mold in current production….most likely. I am going to guess the MW prime, if they make it, could be ANOTHER retool of the "G2 Style" prime we got last year, or even a (possibly) a TF PRime OP. Its so hard to say because there really is not much in the way of molds that could be Prime, and still be Prime 😉

I agree. A World Of Warcraft Transformers figure would be awesome.

Well after looking at him I am unimpressed. I never liked the mold at all. Right Now me spending the 300+ for a set seems like it may not be worth getting. I really need a WOW Figure here that makes me want this set…Keeping my fingers crossed.
Kingfish333
Waspinator retool would be cool for this mold, actually….

Dude, thanks for catching me and answering me!

That's neat… it's something like what the Scan Series movie toys did, only more subdued.

Unicron Trilogy molds were fine until 2011 but now they are considered too old to use. Not that they're bad molds, just old. Focus is mainly on newer molds.
Autovolt 127
True but those figures were done in 2008 and 2009.

What about Nightbeat? And Thunderclash? Weren't they Energon molds?
Bass X0
I'm saying that from the perspective of "no Energon toys" rule they have placed upon themselves.
While they don't usually reuse molds from previous Botcon sets unless its a really good idea with SG Thundercracker being the only one they've done so far, they are open to using molds from Botcon as Club toys. Scourge, Jackpot and Breakdown from this year's subscription service set is proof of that.
If they don't do a Machine Wars Sandstorm this year, they may well do one next year as a subscription toy.
Autovolt 127
I wish they didn't do Spinister last year.
grimlock1972
I would respectfully agree to disagree with you on sandstorm but its a moot point and i shall wait and see if this set has any interest to me as of now its minimal.

The new Orion Pax. Or any other modern G1 Optimus Prime toy, including WFC and FoC. Since not all toys can have new heads, may as well go with a mold that is already the intended character. The toys don't have to look exactly like they used to, only a loose connection to the original vehicle mode and the same color scheme as with Hoist and Skywarp.

Looks awesome. I like neon.
Especially Omega Spreem.

Dude. Stop saying this or that answered 3rd parties. Seriously, I was doubting myself for a second, had to double check if it was pure coincidence or you were the same member I caught saying something similar..but it was you.
Your last dozen posts are practically 'Hasbro answered the 3rd parties!'. We get it.
And applying it to Botcon makes zero sense.
There! I answered you!
(unless you're trolling, in that case: you got me! )

Pass!
Kingfish333
I hope the rest of the Botcon toys are awesome, because we need Fun Publications to step-up and answer the 3rd Parties….

Well now, Hello Slingshot.
It's too bad that this is already being used for MW Skywarp, with a different head, it would make a nice homage to the Aerialbot with many names.
