TFW2005 member ruanxiaoguo has posted new, pre-production photos of his weapon accessories designed for ROTF and DOTM Leader Class Optimus Prime. The weapons, being produced by the new third party group Cubex, are highly screen accurate and styled after the transforming gas tank weapons used in the first two films.
The weapons are currently slated to be sold in pairs, in four finishes: Grey, Metallic Silver, Metallic Dark Silver, and Chrome. The guns are natively compatible with the Buster Optimus Prime variant of the mold that already features detachable gas tanks, but additional parts in this set will allow any version of the Leader class mold to mount them. The guns can also be combined with the weapons included with the most recent version, DOTM Striker Optimus Prime.

Again,I would very much like the chrome smokestacks and call it a day. Sorry if I come off as rude but considering all the current upgrades I have on my Prime and an APS-01 Striker in the near future,I would very much love to make it complete.

The smokestacks are pretty cool, the guns aren't worth 50 or even 20 as far as I'm concerned. Way too fiddely

Same thing happened to me. I pulled the screws out, coated them in Super Glue, put them back in, fixed. No more problem.

Got to say after installing mine they are a fiddly mess. I would not recommend this set. On my tanks the smokestack plate keeps coming off the screw does absolutely nothing. I may put him in bot mode and keep them as cannons because if I look at it wrong it falls apart.

A round file is not a bad idea at all. (wish I would have thought of that)
But if you don't have one, it just takes a lot of force. (twisting a tiny bit as you force does help some as well) I got two sets and I got them all in with brute force (lots of brute force).
I did find it easier to remove the shoulder/chest panels first so I was just forcing into those rather than trying to figure out where to hold Prime.

1. Pull out the old plastic smokestacks.
2. Grab a round file and file the hole the smokestacks fit through.
3. Insert new smokestacks.
4. Enjoy!

Hi its me again… I got my cubex smokestack… how do it fit it in my APS Prime?

$35.00 is still too much for the unpainted, but I still recommend them, even at that price if you must have a set. Honestly, for the original version and the USA Jetwing, it's a really nice addition.
After some tweaks, it's honestly not bad.

Agreed, for 20 bucks they would be passable but @ $40 and $50 for the chrome theyre too much. Ill wait for a price drop on the chrome ones before i buy if they sell out oh well.

I'm using a chrome set with my DMK Prime. Seems to go well with the look-but-don't-touch nature of that model.

I'd say only get it if you have one of the premium releases, it is a nice set to help make a prominent figure stand out even more. Even then, about a 30% price cut would make it a good buy.

Yeah, I'm going to pass on these. Maybe if I still only had my original Optimus, but now that I've got the Amazon DotM Jetwing Optimus that already has removable tanks, I'm happy with that. It's not as movie accurate, but it still makes a really cool gun and I can use his other hand for holding the axe or shield…

Not really, the quality on them is crap. I was looking forward to putting mine on striker prime but i just threw them back in the box. Paint isnt good, stuff doesnt peg in right, the front part of the cannons just flops. I was waiting to get the ones for striker prime and then get a set for buster prime but im gonna pass now.

So eh, is this worth the 50 bucks? I wouldn't mind getting this, but that price is kinda rediculous.
