The latest dispatch from the official Transformers Collection Club has arrived. Of note, the anticipated reveal for the theme of Botcon 2013 will be announced in Issue 48 of the club magazine.
It’s that time of year. Time for the Fall TCC membership drive! Get ready for some amazing reveals, great contests and club store sales as we get ready to head into 2013!
And speaking of next year, first up BotCon 2013. While we are locking down the details for next years convention, we are excited to reveal that for 2013, the BotCon set theme and story-line will be revealed in Issue 48 of the TCC Magazine! We are doing the reveal a new way this year, so if you are NOT a member yet be sure to JOIN TODAY so you get the next issue and get the scoop on the story and some of the characters for BotCon 2013. If you are already a member, sit back and get ready for the reveal!
Also, for those of you going to NYCC (or following from home), be sure to stop by and see Dan Khanna as he will have a reveal as it relates to the 2013 Transformers Figure Subscription Service. You won’t want to miss what he has at his table! He will be set up at table O16. Be sure to mark that on your schedule!

I love that idea too! I had first thought FP could use these molds as the Wreckers, but then Hasbro did it.
But maybe besides a Botcon set, this could possibly work as the figures for another year of the Figure Subscription Service. Possibly add in FOC Grimlock with a new head as a Decepticon(Overkill? Trypticon? Snapdragon?). I wonder if such a line-up would be more interesting than the mixed bag they're doing with the first year.
Trying to do another 5-piece "5-year" combiner as the membership/incentive figure doesn't seem like a great idea though.

That actually would work real well actually. FOC Headmasters could be a neat idea.

Pete keeps mentioning the War Machines idea. So it got me to thinking about some other ideas that we could get.
For instance, in the original MW, Starscream did not share a mold with TC and SW. So what if we got a repainted Energon Wingsaber for an updated Starscream. It fits that brick idea, different alt mode than TC and SW (if they are included).
Also, maybe revisiting the Cybertron Defense Scattorshot mold and make him MW Ironhide. Fits the War Machine theme, he has two big ass cannons on his arms… it would be an expansion of characters within MW.
These are just a couple ideas I had, thoughts?

I'm not a fan of mold re-use once Botcon has done it. and I'm not a guy that demands G1 repaints…..but a million times yes to this!

I think if anything, especially with SG Prime last year, FP knows big names sell, which especially helped that particular attendee toy pack, vs Octopunch and Spinister.

I like the idea of Fort Max as a combined mode. And I'd be down with that Brainstorm and Highbrow. Gotta say, though, for me the Swindle mold is dying to be redecoed as Crosshairs. It's the first mold in a while that I think would really work for that character.
It's also sort of a shame that Spinister was already done last year. While I like the Spinister figure, I feel like the FOC Vortex mold would have been a really good fit for him. It transforms in a similar pattern to G1 Spinister, so the color layout would work on both bot and vehicle mold. Ah well.

No. Screw it. Go with Energon Scorponok as G1 Scorponok. Make the box set more expensive to accomodate.

I hope we do at least get a Megatron and Prime updated from Machine Wars… but somehow I doubt it. I'm counting on one or two Action Master characters, too. Maybe we'll finally get Treadshot or Gutcruncher from the Warpath mold…
I still hope they club eventually does the Headmasters characters as a boxed set using the Bruticus molds..

He may not even be one of the characters who get a new toy. Only a few of the original twelve will and that there will be new characters not in the the original Machine Wars.
They could return to 2013's theme during a later year or possibly as a future Subscription service.

Yeah, too bad they used the mold already for Pyro. It's not impossible for them to reuse a mold… just unlikely.

You know, that would work the best of any suggestion yet. I wonder if that mold would be too new? It's supposed to be out in early 2013 and Botcon's not until June…
