However its weird is that it does say TAKARA at BBTS
Commemorative G1 Soundwave with Ravage & Laserbeak – Transformers Reissue Transformers Hasbro Commemorative
jamarmiller
that was what I was fearing. CRAP
wildfly
Yup. BBTS have them listed under Hasbro. Nothing to do with Takara, and almost definitely little to do with Hasbro US, therefore from an Asian branch of Hasbro.
Sol Fury
Only if they are for the Japanese market. It's very much a possibility that those are Asia exclusives via Hasbro Hong Kong.
jamarmiller
Youd think they would have something on the Prime and Soundwave G1 toy reiissues
Transfan76
Oh boy . And I just put almost a hundred dollars into my car. Just hoping I don't break the bank. Since I preorderd sideswipe .my wife still think this guy come out in december.
Cyclonus79
Oh yeah, would u look at that.. Nice observation
REMINATOR
That pic looks rubber. Why? The front wheel, top portion, seem to have a small uneven section that resembles MP10 uneven rubber wheel syndrome.
Mirage232
You said exactly what I was thinking. Everytime people try to justify the use of plastic tires, they usually point to figures from RID as evidence to back up their claims. Yes, those tires tend to split, but that obviously had something to do with the chemicals Hasbro used in their version of the line, (the Takara versions don't seem to suffer from the same problem). I still own several original G1 transformers, and all of their tires are fine, as well as the tires on my reissues, binaltechs and alternators. Takara not using rubber on masterpiece Sideswipe is simply a case of them being cheap, and has little or nothing to do with prolonging the wheels lifespan.
deaculpa
are the tires on his legs the same tires as in altmode? they look smaller and indeed plastic on the bot but the tires on the lambo look a little bigger?
Thundercracker
Eh, I can care less about metal and plastic tires. Just give me a killer design that hearkens back to the G1 cartoon and has great pose-ability. The 1st MP Prime design is weighty and full of metal and rubber and can't hardly stand for crap compared to the more plastic MP-10.
leov36
I'm glad to see fellow TF fans rationalizing his plastic tires. I can remember when "masterpieces" where 20 pounds of metal and rubber. Pretty soon they will be scout size with no paint apps, but it will be ok cause paint can cause cancer if ur exposed to it long enough. Btw, my 25 year old g1's have perfectly fine tires. I don't know wtf u guys are talking about.
Thundercracker
Correct.
chrisr291
Woo hoo! Next month? I hope it doesn't get delayed
lildevilchick
Totally missed that! Thanks for pointing it out.
RapidBlast
Am I the only one who noticed the G1 face on wheeljack's micron.
Kranix
well good point, but it is one i have rectified… every year i remove the tires and soak them in armorall, i have figures from the 80's that the tires are still like new (just make sure to let them dry, otherwise it may leave spots on plastic.)
zeroomegazx
^^ this
My US God Fire Convoy have cracked and broken tires all over Prime and Magnus, as well as the 3 brother cars. My Japanese release however is still intact for now. Main issue is that rubber in the past 20 years is a crying shame of what it once was. I fear for all my rubber tired transformers.
wildfly
Wow. Somebody went to town with the Photoshop on Skyquake.
Oh look! A purple silver Decepticon logo on the nosecone.
Congrats on another G1 nod, Takara.
PoweredConvoy
The tires are so thin on the figure that they would have likely cracked over time.
Blame his high price on the terrible value of the US dollar. Had things been the way they were years ago where the yen to dollar ratio wasn't so horrible, he'd be like $45 to $60.
