More Transformers 4 news pouring in. Michael Bay recently spoke with the Huffington Post and revealed that the series will pick up where it left off in Chicago — with Peter Cullen back as the voice of Optimus Prime. Mr. Bay also addressed the number one question people ask about him these days, concerning the Transformers Franchise; “Why is he returning for Transformers 4?”
Why do you want to do it? I was under the impression that you were done after “Transformers 3”?I thought I was done. Then the ride came out [at Universal Studios Hollywood] and the two-and-a-half-hour lines. And then you’re thinking, Oh my God, someone’s going to take this over. And you start doing a lot of soul-searching. Like, OK, I’m about to do a little movie, “Pain & Gain” … and the studio says they want to restart the franchise. And someone could come in here and screw it up, you know? So I’m thinking that if I do this last one, we set it on a new footing, we change a lot of things — but we keep the history of the three in place. But we broaden it so it can be set up and be carried on — it would have a better chance for survival, I guess. You know?
So with the plot of “Transformers 4,” it’s not like the other three movies didn’t happen? It’s not a reboot?
No. We’re basically taking from the history of where it was — or where we left it in Chicago. And we’re going to carry it on from there.
I spoke to Peter Cullen at Comic Con earlier this year. He said he doesn’t know if he’s going to be back as the voice of Optimus Prime or not. He’ll be back, right?
Of course! Of course.

Being smashed out of your mind probably explains why you found Bay's films entertaining.
If I lost 80% of my brain power, I might too.

Is it my imagination, or did you just completely sidestep the matter of your retirement from this thread (or lack thereof) and instead choose to imply that you have an alcohol-related impulse control problem?
03Mach1
Why do I have to read these posts after I've had too much to drink? All of my infractions have come under the influence.
But not this time…

Uh…
So; I guess it's 2014, and TF4 just hit the one billion dollar box office mark?

LOL Dave Chapelle was a genius too

I strongly dislike the movies as well, I don't care how much money they made. it's still a bore fest with a ton of explosions. I will never pay full ticket price for a TF directed bay movie again, even after renting the latest two sequels for a $1 at red box, I still felt robbed. I will spread the hate for these vile movies as long as I can type, on that note HATE HATE HATE
Lurkertron
Dude, I really dont care what you're fine with. I dont hate anybody over a movie.
Easterling Capt
you just dont get it do you..Im fine with your criticing something, I am fine with you dislike something..But you dont seem to grasp nor see the diffrence between the STRONG HATE this board flows with from some individualls compared to disliking something or cirticising it. And furthermore it was not meant towards you specificcly it was a overall statement that a bunch of users on this board show in their post and how they come off.
now if you dont get the diffrence then whatever…
Lurkertron
How do you know it was an attempt at humour if you ignored it?
Also, it isn't my attempt, it's one of many thousands of other attempts by people out there who probably aren't toy collectors, yet think Michael Bay is a joke.
Seriously now, you're getting boring. Do you have any other tricks apart from "I will ignore your humour" and "Michael Bay has made millions of dollars"?
Can you at least form your own argument on why Bay and his film don't suck? Are you just defending him out of habit? Are you in love with him? Are you in fact Michael Bay?
Come on man, give us something.
You should know I'm just having fun with you though. I'm not seriously expecting any impressive or convincing counterpoints to my intial posts.
03Mach1
Ignore your ill attempts at humor. Not ignoring you completely. If your going to quote my posts in an attempt to make yourself look better, at least read them.
Lurkertron
Yeah, or maybe I'm perfectly happy in life and just criticising Michael Bay because I don't like his work? Maybe?
Who knew you could get so much insight into a person's private life from criticism of films?
Amazing (and creepy).
Oh and 03Mach1, Irony?
"All the while the rest of us just ignore it and move on."
Ignore fail.

Easy offended ? Ill try to explain it so you grasp. It is one thing to dislike something, we all do you and me might not even like the same food, music, drinks, type of woman/man etc etc and thats fine since we are all diffrent.
The thing I find pathetic is when ppl in this forum in their post litteraly rants with so much HATE it makes them just look like empty hallow shells with nothing fun in their life. The hate takes over and goes so deep that in shows in every every post they have. This is something in most franchises exsist because some fans of a certain franchise just hates everything that is not according to their image in their head is so WRONG.
do you understand and see the diffrence? Disliking something is one thing…the other I find pathetic and sadness for those ppl, and they need to grow up and find some happiness in their life.

Expected.

The irony of your statements as you resort to personal attacks is extremely poetic.
It's a shallow attempt at humor that will have all the 'critics' on this site quoting it over and over again as if it was some sort of amazingly witty burn.
All the while the rest of us just ignore it and move on.

Uuhhhh Bay's directing The Great Gatsby? Is this a joke?
Lurkertron
Heheheh.

Some people get frightened when confronted with wit and pull the hyperbole card.
It's a favourite of people wth weak, inarticulate arguments and no imagination. Funny that they should also find merit in Michael Bay's work*.
Transformers would smash box office figures if a Chimpanzee was sculpting his own shit into robot shapes and throwing it at a wall in front of a camera.
There, how's that for hyperbole?
* Having people and cars flying down an exploding street whilst glamour models and simpletons pretend to be scared. Military runs about. Fart jokes.
jop
There was no hyperbole; Lurkertron simply asserted that Bay is a poor action director. This may be true, it may not; either way, we have not actually discussed the subject in any detail – instead, we have concerned ourselves with matters of the popularity of the position, which is irrelevant.
Also, "Freud"? Do you want to explain that one?

I'm glad Cullen is back, along with Prime.
I'll probably lose that feeling when Bumblebee is announced to return.
