Damn. Looks like you got photodegradation.

What the hell is happening here? Figure has been in a plastic tub and I took it out in anticipation of the new bots incoming. But really random yellowing? Why not all of the plastic?
theosteve
Isn't Aurora still on clearance some places?
Scaleface
Maybe now that Grind Rod is getting a second run, Toyworld figure they need to make a like number of Aurora toys. Enough so they can make an even number of all the limbs.
Robogeek28
That was my first thought as well.

Hmm, im wondering if I should risk trying to pop the leg off. I cant wait to just combine these guys. I wanna call him Roadking or Throttleking and get a Trident, cause I think with his head sculpt that may look good.

Not sure I'm following? Right leg is where the top twisted right off. The left leg was stiff, but didn't break. I was able to Slide it out, trim some of the plastic and then slid it back in. So I've got a one legged Aurora. Ha!
TheUltraMagnus
So did the leg pop out easy Mondochuk?
Mondochuk
Well, I've had Aurora in hand for about 4 days bought second hand, and what I feared would happen did- one of the thigh swivels sheared off when I tried rotating the thigh a tad bit too much.
After the right leg broke, I figured what the hell, I'll try and pop the left off and see what's up. It looks like the disc at the top of the stalk that slides into the thigh is what is too thick. I shaved the inside of the disc down a bit and the left leg rotates like a dream. Kind of weird they'd overlook that on both legs and arms… Hopefully that doesn't happen on any of the new 3 due out.
I'm just glad BBTS still has them in stock for cheap. I already ordered, so as long as I don't get an email saying "just kidding- we're sold out" I'm ok with it. Still sucks, but at least it didn't happen years down the line when they command much more $$$ in the secondary market.

I bought three all together. On sale at bbts for 29.99. Nuff said.

these are quality bots. if you have grind rod don't hesitate to add the others. i don't know what to say to do about grind rod's prices though…

Mine is still in great shape structurally but does have some paint chipping around the black window bits as a result of me transforming it.

Thanks guys. They were always on my backlog but I always had more pressing things to get and Grind Rod disappeared everywhere. Thus my interest in the set fell off a cliff. Looking around after seeing the new ones I just happened to notice TFS, BBTS, and Robotkingdom all have him on clearance, and apparently have had him like that for some time. Figured I'd ask when the thread got bumped before jumping on it.
Unfortunately unless they reissue Grind Rod the savings on Aurora isn't going to help much if you want the set.
Yeah it was you guys who made me a little skeptical. No one else in the thread from the digging I did seem to have that problem though.
TheUltraMagnus
I like him, but im afraid to swivel his joings, has anyone else noticed the stress marks on the swivel pieces right around where the swivel knob starts extending? Talked about it on the main combiner thread and the person who replied to me said he wouldn't risk trying to twist further.
Raiju
Aurora is a decent figure but some of his joints are a tad looser than I'd like. He takes a backseat to the wonderful Grindrod.
divinecomedy
Grind Rod sold extremely well and BBTS tried to corner the market on the next figure with terrible result (didn't dissuade them from repeating the trick with Warbotron). Out of the 3 released. this one's my favorite.

Fantastic figure. More than worth $30.
