More 3rd party toy news is rolling in. Thanks again to Jarodimus Prime for some nice final product images of the Impossible Toys Allicon. This figure is based on the Quintesson guard from the 1986 movie. According to Jarodimus, he’s quite beefy and heavy in person.

Dam thats some intese rage you got there over a toy, I would hate to see you after a bad days work. Joints have screws that you can tighten did you try that? And im confused here your upset about the transformation not being super complex or no book? I use the tail to help it stand. there is a couple threads around here on this guy but not sure why you felt the need to post the same thing in multiple ones? Show us pics maybe you transformed him wrong or something.

It's supposed to recreate the feel of G1 toys, so like Gnaw, the transformation has to be simplistic.

Alicon arrived yesterday and I hate him. That's quite a lead in statement and I apologize for being so blatant for the sake of shock value, but this is simply not a good toy. The limbs were floppy right out of the packaging, the transformation is overly simplistic and unsatisfying, and the bot mode precarious to say the least when trying to get him to stand. Add to this no instructions (although again the simplistic transformation almost negate the need) or other pwetty accompanying booklet, and I feel ultra let down overall.
In other words, this toy is not worth $80. Maybe at $35 I wouldn't have felt so ripped off, but at $80 he's libel to make some feel cheated and others (like me) downright angry. Impossible Toys, I will avoid you at all costs going forward. You have lost a customer for life.

Well he was designed by Venksta a couple of years ago and he told me he had to work with the constraints of no ball joints and no pins. Those things considered it is a neat attempt at reliving G1. The joints are tight and solid. He looks like he should and I like it. I paid the 80 for it but then again no shipping so I will pretend it was 60 plus shipping

How is the overall quality?

I bought Alicon and put him with Gnaw and the IT Quints in my G1 collection. He works extremely well with G1 figures.
brr-icy
allicon will be mine, same with the tetrajets

I hadn't even noticed before how Impossible Toys purposely misspelled the names of all four toys. Probably to claim they are original characters.
Alpha Traon (not Alpha Trion)
Alicon (not Allicon)
Kranax (not Kranix)
Arbilus (not Arblus)

Could you add some of this trivia to the wiki pages on these toys? I love having trivia and design notes. I only have wiki pages for Quint 1-4 so far.
Quint-01 – WikiAlpha
Quint-02 – WikiAlpha
Quint-03 – WikiAlpha
Quint-04 – WikiAlpha

The Alicon looks bigger than expected. It transforms so that's a plus. The hesitation of ordering comes from the price, which might not go down. Unlike the non-transforming IT figures, it may sell well enough to avoid going on clearance.

lol. neat.
I did some of the box art for the first round of toys these Impossible Toys guys made, the Quint scientist and the Bailiff, and I think 1 or 2 others. After that first round they asked me if I could help with the designs? I was never totally sure, I believe there were always some sort of language barrier issues present. What they eventually commissioned for the second round of toys were "turn-arounds" (if you don't know, that's just a view from different angles so that you can see all the details and colors). I was paid decently and never thought much about that art again, because years passed before I ever saw it. I thought I had communicated to them that when they were ready, once they finalized designs and decided who they wanted to produce, I would be happy to throw in actual box art. I never heard from them again, and I have to say that i laughed hard enough to shoot some mt. dew out of my nose when I saw the Pic above. I think the toys are cool, but they just took the turn around art, photoshopped each front and back view into one pic, and used that as box art. The real kicker though, and this is what caused the Dew explosion, is that I drew the back view of alpha trion with a "transparent" cape so that the sculptor could see the details that would need to be sculpted underneath it, and I guess because of the language barrier, the actual toy came out with a transparent cape.
Awesome stuff, I applaud their efforts. These designs were purposefully cartoony, and were done long before Hasbro had even thought of classics. I don't want to let their cat out of their bag, so I won't give details, but I did that "turn around" style artwork for many other characters in the G1 toon universe. I also did the Allicon, Nightbird, the little transforming exo-suit, pretty much every quint there was (that's all stuff they have already produced). I have faith that the rest of those designs will still see the light of day as these have, years later.

The Alicon is pretty neat and the preview I looked at youtube seemed to make it a decent size to fit in my collection. But you know, it was the images of the iGear Sharkticon that really made me interested in picking up the Alicon.

I finally bought G1 Gnaw and then bought this G1 Allicon.
Its not fragile at all.

This. However I'm happy to finally be able to complete both my Quintessons and the 1986 Movie cast!
NothingHead
That allicon is so deliciously G1. I wish I hadn't sold my sharkticon now.. ._.

Can you count the number of different spelling for "Alicon" in this thread?
Sonscreen
The Alicon is awesome.
Lody666
Allitron looks sick!

Alpha Trion looks awful. Allion looks fragile as hell though.
Grimlock_13
The Lithonians and Alpha Trion look terrible. Silicon doesn't look too bad, but I'm definitely going to wait to read some reviews to see how the quality is on it, given IT's abysmal track record.
