Crazy Devy have announced their next upgrade package for the vintage Generation 1 combiner groups. For release #33 they are revisiting Piranacon. Having already overcompensated him with larger guns and a larger sword, their latest update provides a new and bigger piece of waist armor, boasting “no more skinny waist”. Granted, the waist armor’s larger size also means the combined mode needs to be transformed a little differently to incorporate the legs…
It’s set to be one of their cheaper releases at $11.95 and due for release next month. Please note that this enhancement is an unofficial upgrade package and is not endorsed by Hasbro or Takara-Tomy.

a Seacon waist for $20 that really does not make a big change to the look is something I dont think im going to bite on sorry Snaptrap.

Agreed!

Predaking and Devy looks fabulous fully upgraded. And the upgrade kits don't look out of place. The ones they did for the other combiners are hit and miss.

hmmm

20 bucks says this somehow destroys something on the toy. I mean, this is CD we're talking about, they make over priced crap that does little to nothing to improve and older toy, and half the time it screws something up. Lamest 3rd party ever

Personally, I see any form of G1 "upgrade" as horrifically missing the point. The toys are a product of their time. Let them remain that way. Don't band-aid patch them until they're simultaneously no longer vintage, and yet fail at looking modern at the same time.
Kinda like the George Lucas approach to the original Star Wars trilogy…
But hey, your money is your money…

I second that! I would like to see more Superion, Bruticus, and Menasor upgrades as well. Come on Crazy Devy!
VE Telus
I rather like it. I know Crazy Devy has a bad reputation for overpriced accessories, but I've committed so far to the combiner upgrades, and will not be stopping now. Bring on more Bruticus, Menasor, and Superion upgrades, I say!
Scaleface
I'll wait for the X-Transbots KO of the full set for $40.
Composite Ghost
That was awesome.

Hm… considering BBTS is *still* trying to sell the Seacon's exclusive at 35 bucks… not sure if many folks will buy many upgrades… especially when a one or two pieces will cost the same as the set itself!
CD really should just make full upgrade kits and lower their prices down a bit. Really, some single pieces sell for 25-35$ each… Get a full kit like the G1 Devy upgrades… you're spending well over 100 bucks.

…………………LOL!

Cheaper, sure-
But not cheap enough.

What a "waist" of money!
I keed, have a great weekend, spend it with your Seacons.

Things to make as a third party company: Piranacon's crotch… Check.

"Barely wanted" insinuates that there's maybe more than one person who gives a crap about CD's releases.
Maybe CD should recognize the corollary to supply and demand in that, if they have to charge ridiculous prices for nothing to cover the low demand vs. the overhead, then maybe the demand just isn't there?
DethPike
I appreciate what they're trying to do here, but I'm not giving them $18 for that.
Computron34
Wait, we do? I though we looked to them for overpriced, barely wanted G1 upgrades that you will have to wait years to complete a set.
Color me surprised.
Naztok
I'll get it when it goes on sale.
The one thing I want to see Crazy Devy do is make some Scramble City feet plates with ankle-tilts to take advantage of the little leg articulation those figures have. That should't be to diffucult for them, should it?
grimlock1972
It looks good but way to expensive for what it is and does. ($18.99 on BBTS) really Just too much for a wait piece that is purely cosmetic and does nothing to up grade the figure in any meaningful way.
I understand how the whole 3rd party things goes for why they cost too much but this one I have a hard time with.
