As announced on their E3 2012 Presentation, Nintendo has posted gameplay footage of some upcoming Nintendo titles for their “E3 All-Access” site update. Among the games is Transformers: Prime – The Game.

I understand this is an internet thread about video games,so law dictates we must bash Nintendo for having bad graphics/being teh kiddie/having too many fans/etc.,but isn't a little silly to bash a piece of hardware because a shitty kids' licensed cash-in game looks bad? Not to mention,and I'm not defending this game,but ALL 2D screenshots of 3DS titles look worse than they do in person.
Who here owns/has extensively played the system IRL? Super Mario Land,Mario Kart 7,Resident Evil (omg for little kids),Metal Gear Solid,Ridge Racer 3D,Street Fighter are all great looking and great playing games. I've yet to play Kid Icarus but it has AMAZING graphics when you view the trailer on an actual 3DS system.
Also I think I heard a rumor that 3DS had a new,improved 3D version of the most critically acclaimed game of all time.

QFT. Nintendo still seems to crank out quality games no matter the power of their hardware. That others take advantage of the large user base to shovel out licensed crap isn't directly their fault, or exclusively a Nintendo problem.

I don't get ANY portable transformers content… hehehe I have an Android phone and tablet running ICS, so there is not transformers content available, and a Playstation Vita. Oh well.
As for maximizing the 3DS, there are a few games (street fighter 4 and Resident Evil) but that's about it I've seen that really wow me. Nintendo knows it doesn't have to put much effort into games, because kids will buy ANYTHING they put out (look at all the petshop and horse race games on nintendo portables!)… Vita has a few solid titles (MK, MvC3, Uncharted, and a few others) but nothing really stands out, mostly because a lot of the games are made to interact with PS3 versions, plus the system has only barely been out worldwide.
iOS and Android seem the biggest draw for developers now, especially after seeing games like Grandtheft auto on Android, and Mass Effect… gives me hope for something big with the TF brand on a tablet (the G1 Adventure was cute, but no where near the quality people expect these days)

Yeah, I know. But it's naive to think them shortchanging one isn't an indicator they might shortchange the other. Especially in a licensed game, which are notorious for being underwhelming in the gameplay department to begin with.
Slap a cartoon name on an underdeveloped game and watch the fans (and young kids who don't know better) lap it up because they'll support anything.

Well, you should. A dedicated game console made specifically to play games should do games better than an all-in-one device.
Especially when 3DS games cost many times more than iOS games.
Nintendo has coasted for the last 15 years on the goodwill of fans who will forgive them anything and make all kinds of excuses for why things aren't as good as they should be.

Well that looked pretty good. I've learned to not expect the 2007 DS game levels of greatness, but I'll give it a go. hopefully We'll get a demo.

I don't know what's under the hood of either, specifically, but as an owner of both I'm pretty sure the 3DS packs nowhere near as much hardware as my 4S. Hell, I think my 3S trumped it. I love my 3DS, but I don't expect visuals on par with my iOS devices.

Many games don't even make decent use of the 3DS' power. Why can't Sonic Generations play like the 360 version? Heck even Sonic Unleashed had a PS2 version and the 3DS is supposedly as strong as a Gamecube. I'm sure if the devs actually pushed the system we can get decent games. Why can't we have games that are TF1 (PS2) quality?

This is a tie-in game made about a cartoon in a minor cartoon channel. It looks much better than anything anybody was expecting out of this really.
Not to mention everybody ignored because they were too busy being excited for Paper Mario and Luigi's Mansion anyway.

haha I'm only excited as a transformers fan but i'm still extremely disapointed as a 3ds owner. I still havn't found a reason to justify this 250.00 paper weight. I guess if I was obsessed with mario I would be happy that 4/5 3ds games coming out are all mario games.
