The official Transformers Facebook page has updated with a bevy of new images of the upcoming second assortment of Kre-O Transformers sets. Subtitled “The Quest for Energon” the sets will add many new sets to the line, including an awesome four robot version of Devastator, an Optimus Prime VS Megatron two-pack plus a Knock Out VS Wheeljack one, Vortex, Stealth Bumblebee, plus two sets of Kreons with little bases – one set featuring Cliffjumper and a trio of Vehicons, the other featuring a trio of Autotroopers! while the first go round of Kreos wasn't great, there were some gems and i generally enjoyed some of them.
This whole assortment looks spectacularly craptacular.

I don't think waiting for clearance on the 2012 kre-o sets is gonna be a good idea. I mean, if they don't see these things selling then wouldn't hasbro just nix the entire line and bye bye kreon?

I have a feeling they're going to be a lot better with their production runs on Kre-O wave 2. Last year when the Kre-O's were introduced, I'm sure both Hasbro AND the retailers took some time to figure out just how popular these things would be. Things will likely be adjusted for Kre-O year 2.
I suspect some of the sets will be skipped by some stores. (For example, Walmart may skip the Vortex set, while Target may pass on the Devastator set. Note-this is random speculation with nothing to back it up.)
But I wouldn't count on the clearance sales working quite the same way 12 months from now.

Out of the 2012 kre-o's,I like Kre-O Vortex.
I'll buy Kre-O Vortex when it goes on clearance. like all the other 2011 kRE-O'S went on clearance.

The dog makes me think of Sam's friend's dog from part 1. There was a 2 second shot of his buddy giving his big dog a bath. That's who the dog is.
These look pretty cool. Surprised to see TFP represented, but love that it's getting some use here too.

The Kreons are nice, especially the Wheeljack one. Too bad the sets themselves look terrible. I mean, Wheeljack and Knock Out are both a mess.
