This is not very surprising news after Nintendo’s cool presentation at E3 yesterday. It seems like Transformers: Prime – The Game is coming to Nintendo WiiU.
We’ve known that the game would release on Fall for Nintendo Wii, DS and 3DS, but this is the first official announcement of the game for the Wii successor. You can find out more by visiting the Activision Official Website (Find Games > All Platforms > WiiU).
“Help Optimus Prime and the AUTOBOTS join forces with human friends Jack, Miko and Raf to save the Earth from Megatron and his new secret weapon. Play as one of your favorite AUTOBOT characters including Bumblebee and Bulkhead as you battle through unique vistas around the world to help defeat the DECEPTICONS. Continue the battle on the Wii and 3DS systems against your friends in Multiplayer Mode with 12 playable characters.”The 3DS trailer for the game is below…

if would be so awesome if they made a 3/4 part special based on the game

I almost made a post about how this game looks terrible and that the WiiU is capable of much better looking graphics, until I read that little bit about that video being from the 3DS version. I'd forgot they already announced this for the 3DS. I'll be interested to see the WiiU version.
BTW, anyone else notice Megatron's sword is wrong in that video?

This game better have at least one of the following:
Customization or a lot of new characters.
If not, then this game is dead to me.

So the only platform not getting a Transformers game this holiday season is Vita… : /

No one should care what random forum members say about the specs for a system that they have next to no information about.

There's a LOT of discussion on the Neogaf site but there's really not a true consensus (would there even be one on a forum, lol?) That said, there are a bunch of people saying that the upgrade shouldn't be par to the nextbox and PS4.
Speculation sure, but history puts me in the skeptics camp.
Valkysas
All that says is "radeon GPU" and "1.5 GB RAM".
Hardly anything to be making any judgements about the technical abilities of the system, since we don't know what that GPU is capable of. and if it's true it has 1.5 GB of RAM, that is a hell of a lot for a game console. Three times what the systems this generation have. Not a minor upgrade by any means.

So transformers prime the games coming out for ps1 huh? nifty

This year is the tail-end of the hardware cycle for this (admittedly long) generation. Expect announcements about the Xbox 3 and the Playstation 4 next year (Probably at E3.)

Haha, the sad thing is that this is a close approximation of reality.
(Oh man, do I hate the control scheme on the Wii – and yes, I get that a lot of people love it.)

The trailer is for the 3DS version. a portable game system.
Even then, its not making good use of the 3DS hardware. It's capable of much better than that trailer shows. Like there's no excuse for the mouths not to be moving.
As far as I know, actual specs haven't been released. Gearbox says the WiiU is an actual next gen system, so I'm going to trust them, who are actually working on games for it, over anonymous developers that say it's underpowered, or other random peoples' speculation.

They haven't done it because it's not cost effective for them to do so. Since they sell the systems at a loss. Sony's in even worse financial condition. When those 2 launched the systems they planned to upgrade after 5 years. For now they'd rather keep using the current consoles and not have to subsidize new ones.
Looking at the other company: people had been on Nintendo's case begging for multimedia features and higher definition since the Gamecube days. Nintendo didn't do it at the time of the Wii launch because it would have increased costs, now it made more sense.
The fact is Nintendo has been doing its own thing for some time now. They felt they had sold all the Wii's they could and it couldn't hurt to release a console that could handle ports like Arkham City.
SouthtownKid
Nintendo takes it one step further by creating consoles that are already obsolete before they are even released. They then try to hide that fact by including a gimmick no one asked for and few third party developers will spend 5 seconds trying to incorporate into their games.

Except that actual specs are pointing to the most minor of upgrades to the PS360. The Wii U is all about that tablet controller and playing catchup to the CURRENT gen. It is going to be sucking serious wind once the Nextbox and PS4 are released, not to mention that basically every major third party title is going to be released on all systems until the MS and Sony boxes are released making grabbing a Wii U a Nintendo-first-party-only purchase for any time frame longer than a year.

I'm not crazy about the graphics. I was expecting more with todays technology.
Rogzilla
Do they? I was unaware of any Microsoft system other than the Xbox and the Xbox 360. Sure, they've made some aesthetic changes and added some features like larger harddrive and the ability to power the Kinect accessory without a seperate adapter, but you can still use your first generation 360 (from seven years ago) to play games announced at E3 this week.
So where are these other systems that Microsoft introduces every couple years?
