Today IDW Publishing released their hard cover edition of Last Stand Of The Wreckers. We previously reported what the additional extras in this collection were to be, but did not know exactly what each extra was. This newsie ran out first thing to pick this collection up and here is a detailed list of the extras and what they are:
- cover art gallery
- ”Out of Bullets” – A commentary from James Roberts on the prose story “Bullets”
- ”Escape” A two page comic drawn and written by Nick Roche that features Guzzle and Impactor. Takes place after Last Stand.
- ”Zero Point” A brand new prose story from James Roberts that features Roadbuster and Springer. Takes place after Last Stand.
- Autopedia entries – Rotorstorm, Pyro, Overlord, Snare, Ironfist, Guzzle, and Impactor
- ”Fisitron’s Facts” – Little known facts about Last Stand of The Wreckers, included with first Trade paper back
- pin-ups, promo art, guest art Marcelo Matere, Livio Rimondelli, Josh Burcham and more all contribute.
- Script extracts – A “deleted scenes” from Last Stand
- First Draft – A look at what the very first version of Last Stand of The Wreckers that Nick Roche wrote before James Roberts came on board. There were five revisions and rewrites of the book. Excellent stuff with Kup and Guzzle in this.

- ”In Word and Deed” – A one page comic written and drawn by Nick Roche featuring Verity. Takes place after Last Stand.

Maybe he wants to see the entire fight, from start to finish not just the ending and outcome.
SPLIT LIP
I guess you haven't read of of LSTOW.

I would reeeaaally wanna see the Final Showdown of the Wreckers and Squandron X.
Bumblebee765
Exactly! Especially Rack'N'Ruin; how did that happen to them? Also, I'm really interested in what The Roadbuster incident is all about…
Wreck and Rule!

I hope Barricade, not so imposible seeing as Lockdown made it to this IDW verse already
I'd love to see some past adventures of the Wreckers hell I'd even take some othe battles that redshirt wreckers fought in. I mean there are so many questions like what happened to Rack n' Ruin (I really mean how did it happen) Why was Whirl Kicked out. Stuff like that might make a nice new mini.

Not if it means more pointless deathes, I would like my robots to live alot longer.
I wouldn't mind a escape from garrus 9 featuring shockwave and crew mini though
Bumblebee765
I'd like it to be Barricade… That would be interesting… Maybe he's been secretly spying on Verity for a while…
Also, anybody else hope for another miniseries about the Wreckers? I just find myself wanting more of them!
Anguirus
Well they did draw attention to it. I would never have noticed it otherwise.
I'm halfway thinking an IDW-G1 take on Barricade or Stakeout, but mostly just figuring it will never be followed up.

Just a car?
Cevel
Why can't it be just a regular police car, and not a Transformer?
Dansproject
If the Police car on the last page isn't Prowl or Streetwise…who is it?
IaconStargazer
I suppose it could be, but I don't exactly know. *shrug*

Does this place count as the offical LSOTW discussion thread?

I've been wanting to read this for a while, even before I decided to start picking up comics just 'cause I kept seeing how much love it gets. Got it today and oh man, awesome. Pure awesome.
I tried not to read it all in one go but it was too good not to, I bloody loved it, and even though I knew the deaths were coming, I still found myself going "no! not [name]!", it's hard not to get attached to these characters, even if they are redshirts.
I'm sure I'll be reading it about a million more times.

Agreed. I was disappointed that Guzzle's anger toward Kup, which was the ENTIRE REASON he chose to join the Wreckers, never had a payoff. Though technically Springer was more to blame for the death of his friends, since he's the one who was so hell-bent on getting Kup back at any cost.
And going out in such a dramatic way would be so much cooler for Kup than that Infestation nonsense.
Abrogate
not only would it have been a better ending for Kup, but it would've actually been the payoff that Guzzle's story didn't seem to get. LSOTW did a good job at being a standalone story, it revealed a bunch of plot threads during its own run and tied most of them up pretty nicely. Except for Guzzle, who it was hinted had a grudge against Kup, but that grudge never ended up going anywhere
Croaker
Picked up the Hardcover from the local used bookstore in almost perfect shape, for $10 today at lunch.
Haven't had a chance to read the extras yet.

After hearing raves about it on WTF@TFW, I finally broke down yesterday and ordered a copy off Amazon. It showed up this afternoon, and I am very pleased with it. Since I've only read the story previously using my iPhone IDW Transformers app, it was very nice to have a physical copy to peruse. Love the extras that are included.
Definitely my favorite piece of Transformers fiction, ever. Made me want an Overlord so damn badly.
