TFW2005 is here in NYC and getting ready for Hasbro’s Toy Fair 2012 Media event. We should see a slew of new Transformers, G.I. Joe, Marvel and Star Wars items. Transformers Prime, Movie Trilogy, Classics and more will be on display.
If there is an internet connection inside, and we are allowed to live cover their presentations, we will do so, and it will be right there below. Check back around 1 PM for that, 3 PM for early pics, and 5 PM forward for high res pics.
Also make sure to check out our coverage on HissTank.com for G.I. Joe and Toyark.com for Star Wars, Marvel and everything else!
Enjoy!

^ Is passing Movie Soundwave off as Prime Soundwave better, or worse, than no Soundwave at all?
You know as well as I do that Hasbro's not going to have two Soundwaves in one assortment, so quit being obtuse. Putting Soundwave into the Prime assortment even though he is not labeled as Prime is a pretty clear message that we are going to have to wait a bit. He's not just around the corner, they didn't forget to show him off, this is what we're getting for now. Complete with a Vehicon gun reuse.

Blue is far from exclusive to Prime Soundwave, esp. considering it's more of a G1 dark blue instead of Prime's lighter blue.
I didn't even bring up the packaging, the sheer fact that there are two other movie toys in the set that you accept as the movie guys means there's no reason to assume that because there's a repainted Movie Soundwave in the set Hasbro's trying to pass him off as the Prime version.
Methos
Yeh they are kinda crappy at times when it comes to mold choices for repaints.
I said the Cyberverse line because it would be the most fitting for some of the smaller bot/con figures to release to with the Scout class now gone.
As for Voyagers in the Cybertron line,it's not surprising the lack of a voyager figure. Though if they did come out with Dinobots the voyagers would be the best scale to release in.
As for the future in Prime they did say a combinder team of constructicons would be a the show at some point this year I think,so we mite get a figures of them.
RedAlert Rescue
I thought he was supposed to match the colours of the previous 2 Blue satellite Soundwave Deluxes… I also would have thought that if not for cancellation they'd have made a Blue Deluxe car too after they'd done the black one – possibly as a boxed set.
But then I've been a little surprised there's no alt colour WFC Soundwave toys as yet.
I'm still wondering if their will even be FOC Voyagers – as much as it would make sense for Grimlock to be one… if they were going to do it wouldn't Optimus, Megatron and Onslaught be Voyagers too ?
I'm not sure they count Cyberverses as part of any Generations count even if they did issue something similar to the RTS Legends in 2012/2013 and so far Cyberverse toys only include Movie & Prime themes.
I would imagine up to a quarter or a third of that 40 count might be repaints/reissues though – I'll agree with that.. and that might not be a bad thing if they want to use those moulds that have an as yet unused alternative head some more (like Kup). I'm sceptical that G2 Optimus as Scourge/Nemesis Prime or Warpath as a Decepticon character will ever get made though.
Methos
Well you have to keep in mind that the 40 gen will be across the deluxe, voyager, and cyberverse lines in addition to repaints of new and old molds from other lines……….mostly older molds.

^ Not everyone has seen the packaging pics, and even if they have, it's a very subtle difference.
And considering that the Legion Soundwave repaint is in Prime colors, it's still reasonable to think that he's meant to tide people over till a proper Prime Cyberverse Soundwave comes out. Whenever that will be.
Tikin
That's exactly what I was getting at.
There's no reason to think a Movie Soundwave is meant to be Prime when there's two other Movie toys in the set.
Yubarules77
still… whats the reason for different molds on FE bulkhead, cliff, and others…????
Anguirus
Well I'm going from buying five Deluxe/Voyager Autobots to zero. Maybe one on a whim. You know, some of us like sets of things.
I also wish I'd known that Leadfoot was a dead release or I probably wouldn't have bought Roadbuster, maybe not even Topspin. Next time Hasbro releases two of a thing and announces the third, I'll consider that a lesson learned.
Can't wait for the false analogy someone will now make between stuff that has been announced and stuff that's pure speculation. Any minute now…
mirarage
All three are 'not' prime toys.
While they are being released under same cyberverse banner,
all three are missing the word prime on the package.
All prime & non-prime cyberverse figs will be released together from now on.

So is Sinnertwin with his objection, you with yours, and me with mine. It doesn't warrant being brought up as if it was unknown.
TFXProtector
His pessimism is warranted because it's true. You may not like it, but he's allowed to say it.
Starparu
Any more News/Pics or is this all we are going to get ?

Sinnertwin
Your constant pessimism is pretty annoying. If it's just you trying to be funny, well…don't quit your day job.

Hasbro Rep #1 But then, what will we tell them in 2013 when none of that happens?
Hasbro Rep #2 Eh, that's a year away. We'll let our replacements worry about that when the time comes.
omegafix
Hasbro Rep #1 Fans are really really mad about the FE Cancelation
Hasbro Rep #2 hmmm what can we say that will avoid fan outrage at toyfair?
Hasbro Rep #1 Lets tell them 40 new Generations in 2013
Hasbro Rep #2 GREAT IDEA!!!
SPLIT LIP
What does it matter? You'll all still buy whatever toys you see that you like, so what difference does it make?
Tikin
Movie Mirage in Cyberverse = Movie toy
Movie Evac in Cyberverse = Movie toy
Movie Soundwave in Cyberverse = Prime toy?
Seems legit.
Fort Max
Well that wasn't as great as it could have been but still some decent reveals. Voyager starscream is fantastic, foc figures bar prime are very nice. Cmdr Ironhide looks good too but will be waiting for the deluxe.
Everything else we'd either already seen or I don't care about, sadly that includes Optimus maximus which is just ridiculous. Rid bulkhead is a real mess though, money saved there.
Shame they didn't show rid breakdown or spider bitch but there's always botcon for those.
Very surprised they didn't show skyquake given that we'd already seen him!
Anguirus
Yeah SouthTown, that's why I mentioned the "fumble." They can't win back trust without demonstrating that they can deliver. We already KNOW they have great ideas over there, it's their distribution that is screwed.
Surprised there's not more mention of the Cyberverse reveals, which arguably smashed some hopes. Many of us already knew about the RotF Sideways repaint into Mirage, which is an epic troll…but I think Hasbro may have topped it by releasing a repainted DotM Soundwave as Prime Legion Soundwave. You guys who wanted to collect a complete and reasonably accurate cast in Cyberverse? That can't happen now…sorry folks! Oh, and all those Dreadwing rumors absolutely CRASH to a halt if he's a repainted Skyquake. Unless MECH spiffs up Skyquake's insubstantial dead zombie body.
Ok, TFW friends. I couldn't read every page of this thread in a timely fashion, so does someone know what is up with this?
I presume these aren't new molds or people would be freaking out…so, redecos of DotM molds? Sold in ride gift shop? Because the Movie Trilogy line is another big batch of Asian exclusivity.
