Hot off the heals of the earlier reveal of the Transformers Prime Voyager Megatron, we now have two (albeit tiny) in hand images of this new figure. These images show a lot more brown in the coloration of the figure. Is this the same figure? Or a seperate release?
Speculate and discuss on the 2005 Boards!

The claw is a removable piece – he has 2 normal hands (I saw a pic somebody posted on facebook)

Now that's looking cool, more ike the first pic from th eother thread where the shoulder guards aren't in the vertical position, unlike the last in hand photos. I'm curious about the left hand knuckle duster/battle claw. That is, does it stay just like that, retract to reveal a normal hand or does it kind of implode to approximate a normal hand? All will be revealed in time.
Something that's probably easier to get some educated opinions on: is the abdomen plate mistransformed? As it is, there's alot of clear purple plastic showing on the abdomen and ahh, Megatron's crotch is down near his knees. :/ The shape of the top of that piece looks like it fits well under the details of his armour around his diafragm area and in this position, the light effect would give an eerier backilit look.

No I zoomed in and you can see the light grey is right and so is the purple he's got bronzey Gold fingers and toes and knee spikes and part of the cannon.
I'm guessing it's a semi-flexible plastic so you do not stab yourself with his toes and hands and I would use the comparison to some of the 2007 Megatron's as what he would look a bit like colourwise.
As a fair few of those Megatron's had bronze fingers too.. Shame he isn't more shiny like the Cyberverse one is. Which I would say is the best version of prime Megatron so far.
I think as a minimum I would want to partially repaint his cannon top and perhaps his toes. Perhaps just stipple some silver on top of the bronze rather than a total repaint of it.

Yeah, nobody should be doubting that today we've seen a Voyager Megatron but there's some conjecture over seeing just one. When looking at the in hand imagess, all the obvious differences such as the shoulders are so far as I can tell a matter of minstransformation.
That said I can see why people may be looking for yet another Megatron in this line, even so soon; in several cases there's all new versions of figures/characters in the same size class: Cliffjumper and Bumblebee before their First Editions were even released and the Vehicon and Voyager Optimus since. It's like theTF: Prime line is embodying a ramped up take on the revision going on with Masterpiece characters like with MP-10 and MP-11.

I can see that being the case, though raising the issue of gold plastic is still a fair and valid thing to ask about in general; I understand Lego uses metallic ABS plastics though I'd be interested to know how this compares to the flakey gold plastic on those late 80s/ early 90s Transformers.

It's the poor quality of the image messing with the colors. I'm absolutely confident that what looks to be brown plastic in these pictures will turn out to be a nice cool dark gray.

Epic. I'll go for the Voyagers and skip the Deluxe pack now.

my god. yes. want!

also.. if hasbro tends to use that ugly brownish grey plastic for megatron… it'll baffle me.
they absolutely LOVE using their normal grey plastic on everything.. yet here… where it would actually fit in better, they decide to use this crap. it makes no sense.
Ravenxl7
Agreed, especially since we've possibly seen all of the new figures for wave three already. There's also the possible Arcee v2, and the fact we saw both Voyager Starscream and Skyquake before Megatron.

i'm just worried about the kibble in the hand area.. so far.. i think the deluxe figure has better looking forearms.
but i'm super happy that we're getting this.
now all we need to see is ratchet.
i think it's funny that we've seen two deluxe molds of bumblebee, the vehicon, and cliffjumper, before we've seen ratchet.
Timothy.R
both figures look exactly the same when you do a direct comparison.

While the brown-gray coloration in these pics is rather iffy, I'm actually just happy that there's gonna be a Voyager-scale toy of Megatron to face off against that of Optimus. The above shot of the vehicle mode isn't the best either, but it looks pretty nice.
By the way, that robot mode pic shows that (hopefully) either the cannon can be interchangeable between arms, or that the pic is mirrored.
Ravenxl7
There is no gold plastic on this figure, or even brown plastic for that matter. What you are seeing is the darker gray discolored by the absolutely horrible quality of these two pictures.
Star Saber
Wait that thing has gold on it? Man I hope that thing isn't a potential GPS victim waiting to happen after a few years.
RedAlert Rescue
That toy needs that gold plastic like a dog needs a submarine.
Everytime Hasbro do this I shake my head and mutter "Morons" I'm still irked they didn't bother making a ROTF Megs that was actually the proper colours and now they go do it again… "Bafoons".
Argos should be done for false advertising if you order a silver Megatron out of the catalogue and get a half bronze one.
It is the same one as it's got the same shonky left hand.
anikenvader
Yes, like I said earlier, this HAS to be the voyager. I'm looking at side b sides of them and they match from what I can tell, excluding miss transformation of course.
Ratchets Hatch
Looks good, even though he appears to have backpack wings. Darn it! There are so many great figures in the main line, but I really want to collect everything from Cyberverse! This line is too darn good!
Ra88
Definitely the Voyager. same proportions, altmode looks mistransformed (missing head) which explains that, and unlike in the Argos pic (where it covers the crotch), it has the midsection pushed up properly. The arms look different because these are facing forward properly while in the Argos pic, they're turned sideways so that the exhaust/engine/thingy is facing forward instead of the purple bits.
And to me it looks like the left hand looks so weird because it's splayed open while the right is more closed.
Lazerwave
It's hard to tell this and the deluxe figure apart.
