BTS Toys has sent over to us a photoshoot of their next release – the BTS-05A Minions set. The minions, named Tremor and Frequenzy, are unofficial custom versions of Rumble and Frenzy, designed to be compatible with the original Soundwave as well as BTS Toy’s own Sonicron. These photos show off some of the features and poseability of these figures, and all in glorious full colored prototypes. Read on and check out the images, and if you like what you see, why not head on over to Big Bad Toy Store to preorder a set?

Just wondering the same thing when I got this toy a few weeks ago. That Ratbat is way cooler than PE's Kingbat . . . but how do I display it?
Scaleface
What ever happened to the Shattered Glass editions of the toys, and will they make a Shattered Glass Sonicron, Savage and Nightfang?
Cheers Ian
What Flight stand are they using for Ratbat?
AUTOBOT215
Im definetly going to purchase them, they appear to be what is missing from a G1 area. The others made, look nothing like Frenzy and Rumble!
juxtapose519
I can't imagine trying to justify buying a third party figure that looks worse than the G1 version.
CZ Hazard
I'm not sure how this company can get Ratbat so right, and Frumble so wrong!?!
Soundwinder
The price is great for a third party piece.
The problem is, they're just not good enough for me to WANT them.

Thanks for the link. The price is very very pretty.
I may have to reconsider my initial decision of passing on these. I have Sonicron and the price is right. Decisions, decisions.

Which is why they can't be compared to PE's…..the prices are totally different! Now if they cost the same it'd be a no brainer.
Transbot90210
Where did you see the price?
megatroptimus
They look pretty bad… Too bad because the design is good.
G1Jetfire
Will buy these so that BTS may continue towards creating the bat and the cat and a black repaint of Sonicron. They don't look as good as they could but $14/each is a great price for 3rd Party Figures. Plus they look good with Sonicron.
Soundwinder
For me it's the giant hips and the overall skinniness… their chests are way too narrow, they could barely even get the chest detailing in there because there was no space.
… that's no good.
What's that mean?
I really say invest in a KO Device Label Ravage… if you're going with PE Frumble anyway, alt-mode shouldn't be an issue and DL Ravage is so much better than Universe (who personally I think is a step behind G1, at least in articulation).
dkr7
agreed, i'm gonna wait and see if Fanstoys do some minions for their MP Soundwave before i buy any. For now my PE F&R and Classics Ravage will do
Megatron31
i think they could have used the same transformation as the original cassetes but added ball joints and it would have looked much better
megatroptimus
Ouch.
Stormcrow
These look WAY better than I expected,
but even with that said.. PE all the way.
Sorry guys.
Houndvoice
With those hips they should be fembots.
Tremora and Frequenza, hello.
TigerBlade
I think on price alone these can't really be compared to PE's efforts…..also depends what you want alt mode wise.
How big are these guys? Same as PE's?
EDIT – searching google images they like a tiny bit bigger……looks like I may have found my Frenzy and Rumble…..

You're right, I did make a mistake with my definition. Point taken.
So, really, looking at it from the perspective of just Humanoid-cassette bot transforming figures, there's just the originals and these. No one else has even tried.
The originals are proportioned in a more aesthetically-pleasing way due primarily to the to the shape of the torso/main body.
The real rub in the aesthetics of BTS' product is the hips. Nothing else is actually that bad. I can't see any way they could have proportioned those correctly and still got that degree of articulation. That articulation and how it affects the aesthetics of the pile-drivers-in-use pose (in that pose BTS' product actually beats out all of the other versions of the characters, official and unofficial) looks like it got too much attention.
It's impossible for me to make any kind of rational defense of the part they gave too much attention and still didn't get right. I'll just say that for a few other updated characters (again, official and unofficial), fans have overlooked worse breaches of aesthetics and it's just a little odd that far fewer seem willing to do so in this case. The only reason I can think of is that maybe, like me, they made a mistake in the definition of who these characters are supposed to be.
