iGear have updated their store with some more information on the unofficial Seekers we were reporting on earlier today.
According to the entry on the iGear store, the green unlicensed piece’s name is Rainforest, reference PP03R. The clear purple one is Current, and Generation 2 Ramjet is also shown. All three are currently for sale as “limited prototypes”.
As a bit of fun, take a look at his accessory list to see what he comes with – a human pilot figure named “Dr Evil”. Unintentional Austin Powers reference ahoy! (We know it’s probably just a copyright evading renaming of Transformers villain Dr Archevil though…)

Personally, I would've preferred if they had done something different with Skywarp and Starscream.
Starscream I would've done in more realistic colors. All flat gray like a real F15. This would make him a bit more G2 than G1, but still distinctly Starscream. Would also mean he would fit better with the Takara releases.
Skywarp…no idea Maybe they could've gone with the Alternity colors giving us the purple seeker we'd want
(I'm still considering getting skywarp, partswap with G2 jet to make a Stormcloud — I'm already calling Rain Skyhopper so that would fit.)

Honestly, I can respect that. Though having minor differences in their look does add some more personality to each character.
And I don't know what your sunshine situation is through that window behind your display, but I warn you that even with them closed, those blinds won't keep the sun from fading your figures.

thats me. i wouldn't have bought ANY of them if they hadnt made the big 6. i really appreciate that they did that.
Hicks_Royel
Yes, Skywarp and Starscream are simply for those who have to have a complete set [like myself] or those whose seekers all have to look the same.
Again though, a group of purple drones would've been awesome. I have the transluecnt purple one but he's certainly more of an oddity than a stand in for the drones. I'm calling him Decoy, by the way

I think iGear made the right choice, forced or otherwise, in stopping with the seekers. Nevertheless, I really wish they had released a purple drone. Have the G2 Jet, but it just isn't the same.
Would rather have seen them skipping on Skywarp and Starscream since as is they don't really add anything (maybe in a different deco they would) and gone for things like Purple Drone and some other G2 or post G1 stuff.
CVprowl
i love these seekers, but i need to stop.
now i just need a nice mp soundwave and his minions…
i just noticed the only thing with a decepticon logo in this pic is megatron.
Hicks_Royel
I was still hoping to the generic purple drone. Though I don't think I could've bought nearly as many of them as I did Wal-Mart Skywarps for troop building.
But yes, the G2 concepts and the Action Master TC would've been cool too. Maybe we need to pester iGear, see if we can stir up something productive.

I used to wear 28" jeans…once upon a time…
I'm kinda happy that the seekers are done now, we'd reached the point where Current (the blue version) would have been great to get (although you can kinda make your own using a Storm, Lightning and a screwdriver) but after that we'd have been into incredibly minor characters/G2 prototype colours and the like. Sure a proper release of the last 3 would have been brilliant so that they wouldn't cost a fortune. I need a G2 Ramjet dammit.
Hicks_Royel
Hmm… I actually do wear 28 inch jeans… with a 32 inch length.
Anyway, iGear moving ahead with additional seekers would probably be something like TRU releasing MP figures in general. A handful at a time to maintain the demand and never get left with a surplus once the frenzy dies out. And Billzilla's right, money definitely would play into that. Smaller batches would cost more per unit even with the molds existing.
Then again, perhaps they are simply trying to get their hands on the MP-11 molds. Yeah, that's a joke.

I think it had more to do with their ability to sell them (what with Hasbro/TakaraTomy dipping back into the MP Seeker business) than any legal issues that arose. They've been sitting on those Traitor and Destroyers all year and it took them most of the year to sell enough Elegys that they could offer the three-pack again. I think they looked at their remaining Seekers and decided "nah. Maybe some other time. Let's do something else."
Rather like I don't believe for a second that PP-01S was cancelled entirely due to manufacturing problems. I think there were manufacturing problems and iGear said "well by the time we move to a new factory, MP-10 will be out and nobody will buy this. Let's cancel it."
Though I wouldn't doubt that the C&D issued to Cherry Bomb had something to do with it, I would guess there's a number of factors involved, the primary one being rectangular green strips of paper.

I think there's more likelihood that I'd be able to get my fat ass in a pair of 28inch waist jeans…and believe me, that ain't gonna happen.

Off topic….but I clicked on this thread hoping there was news of iGear releasing that one light blue seeker or re-releasing their not-Acid Storm Oh well.

Hmmm I'm not sure. I think a lot of people are wary of buying from Asia as evidenced by the regular "Is it safe to buy from Robotkingdom?" threads etc. Plus 500 units is a lot to shift on their own especially with seemingly no staff. I think this new version of Rager will be an interesting test to see if they do sell out all 500 on their own. If they do, maybe they will release more. Personally though I can't see what would be left to release.
Red Faith Leaders or reusing the mold?
Hicks_Royel
Well, there's always their in house store and eBay listings. The trouble there being their somewhat questionable CS Record. Honestly though, if they were the only source for more iGear Seekers, folks would buy from the iGear store regardless.
That said, I have seen evidence that iGear is still releasing Faith Leaders so it's not impossible to think that they may yet release more seekers. I just don't see it as highly likely either.

To expand on what I wrote cause I posted it from my phone – I don't believe that the C+D was issued to iGear, but it was issued to Comic Ink over the G2 Ramjet. Other major online retailers were told they were not to stock the seekers or Hasbro would stop them from receiving their product.
I don't think iGear got a C+D because they are still selling the Starscream and Skywarps but I believe they cancelled the last 3 planned releases as they had no outlets for them.
kaos
dude above is correct^^^not against igear…it was for a retailer planning on selling the Igear G2ramjet Mp at a comic convention or some some $#!+….if that was the case hasbro would issue CDs against bigger fish..
wildfly
Were they able to actually issue a C+D against iGear?
I do remember Dublin Comic and Ink getting one.
CVprowl
i have the 7 main igear seekers. this is about all i can fit in my collection so i guess im happy they are done. i love me some seekers.
between selling my classics, and selling the two golden bees i got for ordering from igear, i wound up paying an average of $68 for each of the 7 igear seekers.
$440 + $400 = $840 total paid
-110 golden bee
-100 golden bee
-160 classics seekers
$840-370= $470
$470/7= 68.
having all 7 awesome igear seekers, priceless…
khopson
Makes sense. I do remember hearing about a few prototypes making their way on to the market.
Genetic
A cease and desist was issued by Hasbro/Takara over the seekers so the last 3 were never released, only a few prototypes of them which they sold through their site.
