Michael Bay has responded to the rumors that he is in talks with Paramount for Transformers 4 & 5. He denies any talks are taking place, and states that his current future plans do not involve any new installments of the Transformers live action movie franchise.
I am currently not talking to Paramount on T4 and T5 despite reports. I’m looking at a lot of possibilities coming my way right now weighing options. Most likely going to be doing the low budget Pain and Gain, a true story crime thriller. It’s a very quick shoot and quite funny. Also just finishing the 3 disc set of the Transformer trilogy.Michael

So Speilberg was the mastermind, bringing Bay as the disciple.

I will gladly donate $$$ up front for a reboot of the franchise. Double that amount if we get Christopher Nolan or Peter Jackson to do it. They know how to stay true to the original story line.

Spielberg was the one that got them greenlit in the first place. It takes someone of his stature to convince the studio to go ahead with a production of this magnitude. They simply wouldn't have happened without him. He put the deal together and set the tone for the first film before Bay was brought on board.

I'm thinking if they do 4 and 5 back to back, then it's entirely possible Unicron will be the big bad. In that case you can bet Galvatron and gang will be along as well.
G1 didn't end with Megatron and much of the original main Decepticon (or Autobot) cast so why should the movieverse?
And there is nothing for sure that says they can't find a way to rebuild Megatron again. Hell they already did that once so why stop now?
It's gonna happen eventually. Whether it's Bay or somebody else and you can bet that no matter who it is, most of the people who hate now, will still end up hating later.

I'm sorry – I misstook you for a listener of the movie boards, not one of the main people spreading rumors as facts on it.
Take I am no. 4 for example:
There you go – that's how involved he was.
The only reason he is an executive producer is to try and give some kind of credibility to the steaming pile of dung produced by bay. Just like you say, he had pretty much nothing to do with the movies…except for promoting them, he is simply the trophy wife of Michael Bay in this case.
Do you have any facts at all to back up that statment, or is this the kind of fact that is commonly pulled out of ones posterior?

So who has let the cat out of the bag,is Tyresse, haha

My main concern is that TF4 might echo my criticisms of POTC4 – it felt like there wasn't really a point to it, the story was done and I was happy to leave it there.

I totally agree with this. I think bay will come back and do transformers 4. Also I believe talks between hasbro, parmount, and bay are going good and thats why tyresse predicted that bay will come back for a fourth movie possibly a fifth.

Good idea so that the story will not concentrate so much on Human

OH thank GOD!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! YEAH! NO MORE BAY! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Now get someone with a shred of competency in there to start from scratch! DAMN! I'd rather have had the director of Rock 'em Sock-errr, I mean Real Steal to direct or hell, shove a ton of money at John Favreau.

Yea I see where it's going to be tricky to have the film feel like anything other than Transformers 4: Milking a Franchise to Death.
You've killed off enough big name Decepticons that it's kind of hard to build the excitement for B list villains from the comic books as the new thing to kill off. You've had two big end of the world battles to stop the Harvester and then the odd idea of enslave humanity on Cybertron. Kind of wonder where good places are to go with a story.

If they can't get Bay, they should focus all their attention on making a Transformers Prime movie.
OptimusPrime108
I agree. TF4 will feel forced. How many more plot holes are they going to create just to keep the series going? I say reboot.
General Magnus
Or maybe we´re getting a reboot?
Meh as long as they get toys. Like I said, movies are the only way we here in Portugal gets stuff in decent quantities when it comes to toys. If that means people have to suffer the Bay movies, well, I wish I could say I care, but I don´t.
Hiraga
I'm saying that the Movie-verse story doesn't need to go on. I thought the ending was perfect as it was. I'm pretty sure that Transformers 4 is going to feel REALLY forced, regardless of who makes it.
Grimlockimus
Depends, if it's by Bay and follows the same old format, no, we don't need one.
If they want to take it in a fresh direction while keeping the animators and designers for the bots, more power to them.
Best case scenario though, new movie, using WFC designs and voice actors.
General Magnus
We don´t?
Angelwave
LMAO. I did the same thing too.
Thank you.

We don't need a Transformers 4.

Statements from the other Transformers producers (specifically Lorenzo DiBonaventura) and actors (both Shia AND Tyrese Gibson off the top of my head) have made comments to the effect both Shia and Bay were increasingly interested in pursuing other projects, not doing an upteenth Transformers film just because it would make Paramount a few million bucks.
And that list isn't accurate to his workload: as a producer, in many of those films, Michael Bay's involvement didn't extend much beyond getting financing and getting people working on them. Steven Spielberg was executive producer on all the TF films, but outside of the first, appears to have had no major input in the series. Or the Marvel films where STan Lee is listing as an executive producer, but has ZERO impact on the films.
Michael Bay's directing duties super-cede his roles (such as they are) as producer, and most of those energies have been tied up in Transformers since 2006.
Here's some things I think people need to remember:
Are Paramount and Hasbro looking to do Transformers 4 and 5? You bet your sweet asses they are! As is, the only reason we didn't get the Hobbit films before now was because of rights issues.
You don't just stop when a film series grosses over a BILLION dollars.
Do they want Bay and the core cast to return? Certainly, but after 3 films, most film people DO want to do more than "the same old thing".
Are we going to find out anything soon? Probably not, if Bay isn't returning, Paramount has to get a new director, who may want to take the series in a different direction.
New production teams, new actors, mean they are going to have a bit more involved pre-production than they had with 2 and 3. Paramount is likely still trying to get Bay back, but I wouldn't expect another TF film before 2013 AT THE EARLIEST, and 2014 is much more likely.
