When our crew at the New York Comic-Con shared a look at the Transformers Prime Cyberverse toys earlier, one of the main talking points was the use of clear plastic, particular on Megatron. We’ve received some more pictures from our team at the NYCC which reveals just what all that clear plastic is going to do! Evidently Wheeljack’s spaceship will come with a light up feature, which can attach to other Cyberverse figures to make them “glow” through their transparent plastic parts – perhaps to simulate an Energon infusion?
Although this answer raises further questions – could this mean a Decepticon light-up set is also on the cards, to give the Decepticons an evil red or purple glow? And with the emphasis on clear weapons, and the ports on Wheeljack’s ship looking just the right size to take them, could there be potential to attach the clear weapons to the ship and make them light up too?
Join in the speculation on our 2005 Boards!

I really like the look of these Prime Cyberverse figures so far, not sure if I'll get any of them as I'm more interested in the main TFP line but I'm sure I'll be tempted when I see them in stores. Can't wait to see what other stuff gets revealed over the next few days.

Cool, but where is my Prime leader class Optimus Prime and Megatron?
Scypris

I told agree, I will probably buy only the Cyberverse. Plus, also, I have Guzzle.

Wheeljack's ship is definitely becoming more interesting. Though I have to admit, when I first read the news title, I thought it said "Grimlock" instead of gimmick. Which got me really excited, and then slightly saddened when I realized I had read it wrong, lol…

clear plastic and then clear plstic that glows is always a good thing. Chrome, clear plastic, and glow in the dark, all good things.

Cyberverse Wheeljack is SOOOOO going into my Legends collection!
Evil’Con
Oh Prime Cyberverse….No
Saw pictures of Megatron, Optimus, Bulkhead, Vehicon and Starscream.
Runs to make space for all of them.

Looking back on the Legends of Cybertron line, this price point has come so far! Might pick up Screamer, but REALLY want to see a tiny Knockout!

Don't care for the gimmick, but I like the use of clear plastic. Makes them MUCH more colorful which is something Cyberverse/Legends toy usually suck at.
Gojira Prime
Not digging how the light-up gimmick screws with the looks of the main robot on Prime and Megs, but the others seem to lack it so, I'll probably be getting a couple of them. Definitely gonna get the Arcee. I've already decided to go Protoman on Prime Arcee.
Mechafire
Not a fan of this gimmick at all. Looks like I'll be skipping most, if not all, of the Prime Cyberverse figures.
Transbot90210
I will be the first to admit that I think gimmicks detract from a figure. Why is it that this Prime gimmick makes me want to get those Legends figures.
Dammit Hasbro why must you attack my wallet too, did you not hear what the 3rd party groups are already doing to it?
G1Wheeljack
So that's why there's so much clear plastic.
Rogzilla
Very interesting…

Got a couple more pics from the crew at the NYCC:

Light up gimmick for the Autobots to make them look "powered up"?!
Makes you wonder if there are plans for a Decepticon set given the purple on Megatron…

They all look really great, Wheeljack especially, or I'm just biased. Not a huge fan of the clear plastic, except on Starscream, Optimus and still on the fence about Megatron's clear chest, though I know what they were going for. Bulkhead looks pretty mediocre, but the engineering looks great.
