Takara Tomy designer Hasui Shogo posted a tweet earlier today, and in it was a pic of very early concept work for a Masterpiece Ultra Magnus – WITH ARMOR. This looks to use the MP-10 Convoy as the base, with a new trailer to work as Ultra Magnus battle deco.

Agree,so far City Commander's design is the most G1 accurate among all the rest of the existing Ultra Magnus figures so far.

Actually, it's not so much the head-sculpt overall as it is specifically the facial expression he has. Sort of a "I've just had gas. And I don't care." type of expression.

Really wished they'd unblur it soon… looks like it could be quite good. If it can carry cars and be more articulate than the FP UM… I'd very much replace him.
Course… there's also the matter of him not breaking as easily as MP Rodimus…
Wow… if that still transforms into a trailer I'd say he's downright perfect. Even if he can't transform… that's still pretty sweet. If you can spare 300$, I say he's a nice addition to a collection judging by the pictures.

Oooh, I would dearly love to have that too! So far, 3rd party only tackle the G1 version. For a change, I like to see the IDW version:

Still don't like it. Then again the only UM design I've ever liked is the IDW Ongoing design, but that would need a whole new figure entirely.

MP Magnus customs are always doofy looking. Yikes… and it's nowhere near MP quality. Just hold off till a real one comes out.

for me it would depend on if the armor can be removed. it doesnt seem like it can so for me, it would be an easy choice to stick with my FP CC.

While we're waiting for the real MP UMagnus to happen, I'm debating whether to get this custom UMagnus next to my MP-1 Prime.

That looks frickin' horrible! The G1 Magnus design is really showing its age, and I wish kitbashers would stop being so goddamn literal when it comes to designing a Masterpiece figure. Why not give us a modernized version like FP's City Commander design?

IIRC, when people were playing 'guess the next MP' in the speculation thread, TCracker essentially indicated that Magnus is not the next MP after MP11.
So whilst as of now MP Magnus is very definitely in development… it might be quite some time yet before we see anything.
