Here’s something fun for you this morning. The Delta 4 rocket that recently launched the GPS IIF-2 satellite had a very interesting mission patch. Check out the shape of it – does it look familiar to you? Perhaps the GPS IIF-2 or the Delta 4 are more than meets the eye… or at the very least there’s someone on staff who thought slapping an Autobrand on the mission would be cool.
Check out the full coverage over at Spaceflight Now.

Wow, that's really awesome.

That's awesome. I should ask my best bud if he knows anything about it. He works for ULA here in Denver and was on the mission support team that night!
Also, ULA got a company wide email about their debut in DotM. Didn't notice it myself, maybe the logo somewhere in the movie? Can anyone confirm? Guessing it's in the scene to retrieve Sentinal.

Nasa likes to have fun with it's mission posters – here are some of the movie homage ones.

That sure beats the NEST patch that came with Soundwave & Bumblebee last year. Or the "Autobot Alliance" stunt team thing in the K-Mart exclusives. I wonder if someone is going to mass produce it.
Actually, the rocket is a United Launch Alliance (I know that sounds like something from a movie itself) rocket. ULA is a Boeing/Lockheed Martin joint team venture for sending stuff up for some government customers. As the payload was a new GPS satellite, it's a DOD/USAF project. The launch site is also an Air Force installation though it was originally NASA when it was built years ago. http://www.patrick.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123264230
So between Lockheed, Boeing, the USAF, ULA and Hasbro, could someone make this patch show up soon in some toy tie-in? It's too cool of a thing to pass up.

WTF?

Wow, I got a triple Transformers Sync up. Looking at TFW, clicking on the link for this, and Pandora randomly playing a Black Eyed Peas song (boom boom pow) and right when I see the logo the Peas mention Cybertron. Weird. And that's a fantastic covert logo.

I bet some designer at Hasbro is already sketching up a new rocket transformer for the tail-end of the DOTM line.
Honestly I'm more surprised at the lack of space-traveling vehicles given the film's strong space involvement.
Where's Statosphere with the little space shuttle gun? Where's movie-verse Cosmos? Where's a transformer that turns into a space shuttle?

Sweet!

Not Omega or Skylynx guys, obviously they're launching the Sky Spy from The Ark.
In all seriousness, that is really effing cool.

They're probably trying to find soundwave if they started in 2009

They're hiding in plain sight, and watching over us in secret.

Totally RAD & AWESOME!

That is awesome!

The cynical side of me want s to say that this only exists because NASA apparently played an active roll in the making of the recent Bay film.
I can't help but feel if the film never happen, and this still showed up, it'd be a lot more interesting.
But that's just me.

I always knew they were real… Just didn't think they will reveal themselves this soon.
Xantium, ROLL OUT!

Sweet indeed, hopefully we get to see more cool stuff like this in the future!

That's pretty awesome. I want a copy of the patch!
