This month’s Transformers Collector’s Club magazine is now beginning to reach subscribers and it is just packed to the brim with information pertaining to BotCon and to SDCC exclusives.
The Transformers Collector’s Club has also just revealed the cover of this issue via their Twitter account which showcases the Matrix of Leadership Transformers Prime Optimus Prime SDCC Exclusive on the cover. The inside shows more pictures of the Matrix Prime exclusive (and packaging), an SDCC Exclusive Ultimate Optimus Prime coming packaged in tractor trailer mode, an interview with Frank Welker, and an interview with Derrick J Wyatt and Marty Isenberg about this year’s BotCon convention!

I opened up my SDCC Ultimate… the coolest thing about it, IMO, is that one of the license plate sticker options is "SDCC2011"… which I promptly put on the trailer!

I would be worried that if I went running Erector would end up in my mouth.

I don't think that packaging quirk was made with the core Transformer fan base in mind. It's Comicon, so kids and adult attendees who get in line for at the Hasbro booth and impulse spend. Most people are still going to open theirs anyways, so I don't see why it's a big deal. I find it a charming addition for what might otherwise be an unremarkable exclusive.
The Crazy Collector
Got mine. I live in California if that makes a difference.

Has everyone received their club magazine already? I still haven't received mine and am worried that it might have been lost in the mail.
Excelsior Prime
Is there anyone here attending SDCC who would be interested in picking up an Ultimate Prime for me? Please PM if you're open to doing so.
LemonPrime
I stand corrected. I've just invented the next runaway hit 3rd party companion piece: a necklace with an attachment for the peg hole/hooks on deluxe cardbacks.
Fort Max
Peeps were wearing Erectors around their necks at Auto Assembly last year, make of that what you will.
LemonPrime
I wasn't aware there was a desire amongst the fandom to wear MISB toys around their necks, but what do I know?

DOTM Ultimate Prime is a standard retail release. SDCC exclusive Ultimate Prime is a variant figure in new packaging exclusive to SDCC. TF: Prime Optimus in Matrix packaging is an SDCC exclusive also.
Yobuster
ok so i'm confused. DOTM Ultimate Prime is an SDCC exclusive. So what about TF Prime Prime in matrix packaging?
Ravenxl7
It looks like a hand-painted prototype to me, so I'm assuming it's not.

Random thought:
I wonder if in five or ten years people will look back on 'Ultimate' Optimus and feel the same way about it as they do with other previous so-called 'ultimate' figures.
Most of which were produced by Kenner for the 90's Batman movies.
Also:
That Prime…uh Prime, isn't the final, finished, retail product… is it?
hupla
Yeah pretty much, retailers may want movie toys for as long as they can, but once DOTM is done and on DVD I think even they know that they have to move on to a toyline that is actual supported by some media.
shroobmaster
….Uh. It… really doesn't. In fact I have no idea of where you got that.
If you're talking about how Animated got cancelled that was more like because it had an art style COMPLETELY different from Bayformers (the one wal mart loves) than the release date.
And because the ACTUAL SHOW was getting cancelled too.
Sprocket
More like 'until next summer'. Every movie line's run for at least a year, I don't see why Dark of the Moon would be any different.
No matter how big the movie franchise gets, with Prime due to run for at least 3 if not 5-6 years, I'm not sure how that'd be possible. Trust me, by 2013, you'll be drowning in Prime toys.
Fort Max
Not really, it sounds like what it is, a delay. They said October originally and frankly I'd been wondering how they even thought that could happen in the middle of a movie line.
Cheebs
Sounds like code for "mentally prepare yourselves for the Prime toys to be canceled".
Ribieconvoy
El Rage-o, and whatnot. Seriously, this is just getting old. We need confirmation. Anybody else able to second this?
Shin Densetsu
DAMN IT! DAMN IT ALL!
Man that dlx Bumblee looks DELICIOUS. Been wanting that since Toy Fair.
