A new image has been released by iGear on their Facebook gallery (requires registration), showing various elements of their upcoming PP-05 Ironhide and Ratchet unofficial custom Masterpieces. It’s still not clear what the toys will actually look like – this montage just shows parts of the arms and head concepts. The shoulders are definitely going to take inspiration from the Masterpiece Convoy style, though, and the Ironhide will feature armcannons like his Movie counterpart as well as what looks like his old battlestation from his Generation 1 toy.
iGear has previously teased that something might be unveiled at TFSource’s booth at Botcon. If this is the case, we might be finding out more about this release very soon.

I'm totally buying these. Loyalists can stick with their 100% official figures or way expensive out the wazoo customs, I'll be loyal to whomever produces characters I love that look great in figure form.

SOO true! Personally, I TOLERATE the "updated looks" in the classics series because they have so many great "legacy design cues." While I know a LOT of collectors PREFER the modern vehicle modes and the other modernizations.
That's the fun thing about this game, there are SO many ways to play it!

I just dont think pp-01 or the new mp prime fit with the aesthetic. All about opinions for sure.

Keep preaching the truth and sharing the secrets, you ROCK! And many of us appreciate you!

Why do some people think that if you aren't blatantly knobbing iGear off you are a hater? That's a lazy, stupid knee-jerk defense that stunts legitimate discussion.
Skywarp181
^^ agreed! ^^

For the record, I shared that PP-05 was gonna be 19cm 7.5 inches almost a week ago. LMFAO @ Sammel for saying this thread has false hype. I haven't posted anything false yet. NOTHING! If you go back and look at any of my posts, I've given hints and clues that they were Ratchet and Ironhide all along. Some of the sh!t people post on here is just CRAZY! I read it and literally laugh. Also, I think I wrote Universe/Henkei Ironhide and Ratchet are on the Junkion, not just Henkei. iGear haters come at all angles. I'm just trying to get people excited about upcoming product I've seen, no different than when people hype up other companies. Lets also not forget, I was the FIRST person who said the Causality figures were gonna be the Insecticons, loooong before anyone else! FACT.
It kinda sucks when you just wanna share some fun and excitement with the fandom, but people wanna piss in the punch. Lames.

Because while *designed* to be their own-thing, depending on how you feel about scale and updated design-cues, they really will look LOVELY in a Classics collection
Recycled from the other thread, frankly Classics Prime is a bit small compared to the rest of the Classics cast, the Van-Boys should be better, and PP01/MP10 might be a better "Classics prime" than Mr. Voyager. Again, all depends on your aesthetic desires and notion of "scale" (always a foggy concept at best with TFs)

I'm just getting back into TFs. Finally picked up a Faith Leader, and am getting into the Henkey/Classics stuff. VERY glad to see these are in the works!!!
Yup, I'm definitely one of them.
Hasbro/Takara had one me over in the early days of the Alternators line, and MP Prime. Things just started to get too inconsistent with the smaller Starscream, etc. I think the Alt Prowl really got to me too…
Anyway, can't wait to get these!

In regards to the Dinobots, I will hold on to some hope that the Justitoys rumoured MP Dinobots is on the way.
I have always liked subgroups so the Dinobots were always high on my list.
WHo ever makes them, be it Hasbro or some 3rd party group, I will buy them.
Rob
I have no problem buying a line developed for hardcore G1 fans, that I can add onto (and in some cases replace) my existing classics figures.
Sammael
How about this: Hasbro makes toys for kids. Robotic dinosaurs are obviously not all that popular with kids (I guess the dinosaur craze was in the 1980s and 1990s), and so Hasbro doesn't feel the need to remake the dinobots.
Classics Grimlock shelfwarmed. Animated Dinobots shelfwarmed (badly, I can still find Swoop in local stores). Why would Hasbro make another shelfwarmer?
Add to that Hasbro's unwillingness to make "unrealistic" alt modes, and I think the Dinobots are really unlikely. But let's wait two more days and see.
exomega255
Transbot, I think he mean that dinobot is suppose to be around that size for classics (7.5 in)
Peaugh
Oh, I'm all over that if they ever get around to releasing the damned thing.
Transbot90210
So Dinobots are ok but Ironhide and Ratchet are not? And how can you say Hasbro won't make them? Classics isn't dead and each time the line is relaunched thay have to put in some gems. How boring would the line be if every super popular character was made first and then followed by second stringers?
I've always specualted that these guys would not fit in with Classics, so replacing Classics Ironhide and Ratchet was never an option for me. What I was hoping was that they would fit in with Alternators, another hope that has been dashed by insiders.
After having time to take in all the hints and clues and out right information, I am open to having a whole new line of G1. I like larger figures and I will always like the G1 designs. To have a new Ironhide and Ratchet toy in there exact (or very close to it) Alt mode and a robot mode WITH a head is something I am eager to add to my collection.
I said it before, I can not wait until the reveal to start my "how many people flip flopped" thread about these guys.
Sammael
Since I very much doubt Hasbro will do the Dinobots any time soon, I agree.
Foster
Dinobots in that scale would have the potential to be pretty much PERFECT. Hell, upscale and add articulation and tampographs to the G1 molds and you're pretty much good to go!
Cheem The Rup
About dinobots…. buuuuuut that Snarl by Justitoys ?
Peaugh
Oh, that's disappointing. It *looks* amazing, but I'm happy enough with the universe release for my classics shelf if this is going to be that much larger. Now, if they wanted to give us a set of Dinobots in that scale…
