There has been a recent buzz for TF3, but not one you may think. Some how, the Twins got picked up by several blogs and then main stream media again, along with all their social baggage.
This story got referenced, and folks started to do the back and forth. Are they, aren’t they? Then all the chatter that went along with their speaking style from the second movie came up. (BTW – that post was made by TFW2005 over a year ago, while things were still in heavy speculation mode.)
Anyway, we were contacted today by Paramount directly. They asked us to clarify the following.
The Twins will NOT be in the 3rd film, and that the featured cars (from this post) are not actually in the movie.
Couple that with a recent post on MichaelBay.com by Michael Bay:
After the internet posting of a nice review by someone who saw Transformers Dark of the Moon, the writer had not been clear on one thing. He misstated that the Twins are in the film. They are not.
So I am offering a $25,000 REWARD to anyone who can find them performing in Transformers 3, on July 1, when the movie opens.
Michael
Apparently, regardless of semantics, one thing is clear – The Twins, as we knew them, are not, or WILL not, be in Transformers Dark of the Moon.
Enigma2K2
Maybe by you…
This could go 2 ways for me. Either the UNFUNNY STEREOTYPES are no longer in the movie, or Bay will owe a LOT of people $25,000. That could add up in the long run…
Still not going to see the thing, but it feels like a small victory either way.
RebelMan
publicity stunt or not i bet a fair amount of people that have heard about said "reward" will sue Bay & Co/Paramount for fraud for doing such just to promote their film.
TFXProtector
I still find it to be a lie. And the "reward"? Legal loopholes and wrangling will keep him, or them from paying out.
It's a publicity stunt.

Ya know….Bay did say they aren't in Transformers 3.
He's probably right…but think about it, that's probably because Transformers 3 isn't the title of the movie, so it doesn't exist. So obviously the twins aren't gonna be in a movie that doesn't exist. Maybe i'm just playing on the words a bit…but Bay is like that.

Sentinel Prime's characterization
I have a feeling that Sentinel Prime's characterization in DOTM will be similar to his characterization in Transformers Animated: he'll be a complete dick, and he'll probably sell out all the other Autobots for 30 pieces of Cybertronic silver. I could be wrong, though. We'll see come July. Guess Nimoy had some Galvatron flashbacks when voicing the character, or maybe Bay did.
Mr.D
That's a nice strategy to get people to watch the film (for the $25000 at least). Anyways, Twins or not I'm gonna watch it and I'm sure countless people are in me on this one. I mean just two characters' presence or absence isn't going to deter people from watching this if they've already planned on doing so. And I didn't find the Twins to be annoying to the extent that I would drop my plans for Dark of the Moon if they're confirmed to be in it !!!
Enigma2K2
this train of thought isn't hard to accept. And would explain why he's so sure of himself that he'd even offer a monetary reward to anyone who can prove otherwise. How do you lose a bet you can ultimately rig?
Backscatter
At first I was like "Who cares?" Then I picked up Skids in new colors on the DOTM release (among other TFs) His BIO:
AUTOBOT SKIDS has learned a lot in the last few years.Frequent battle has hardened him, and partnership with Humans has made him more sensitive to the value of life. Now, though he is still an eager warrior, his first priority is always the defense of those under his protection.
It would have been good to see character developement with the Twins. Now I'm sorry they were dropped.

prequel movie-based comics, sequel movie-based comics, comic movie-based adaptations, & movie-based novels are not always considered canon before or after the film is released to the public

And give ME the orange one while you're at it!
And where's Silverbolt?!
ThornOfUnicron
Wait so Sentinel Prime is bad? I am Confused now
Smokescreen
The comic was written and drawn before the twins were removed from the film.
Autobot_Wall-E
Does anyone remember the comic book part where
Would those saying that the Twins will not be in explain this?

Tom Kenny
Yes, we know that Tom Kenny voiced and may be voicing Wheelie. That does not change the fact that he ALSO voiced one of the Twins and may still be voicing one of the Twins, if in fact, they show up in DOTM.
Regardless of who or who isn't in the film robotwise or humanwise, I'm sure Bay will continue having some tired-ass, dumbass, frat boy, infantile, imbecilic "humor". If it's not the Twins, it will be Wheelie and Brains, the "cute" little Autobot, as Bay stated in an interview, which like the phrase, "street smart teenager" is a euphemism for something else. We'll see come July.
Noideaforaname
The Twins WERE going to be in the picture, that's a fact. That is why we see they're in the trailer, have toys, seen on set, etc..
But things get cut from the final movie all the time, often very late into the process. It's not uncommon for scenes to be filmed and fully edited just to be cut.
So there isn't much proof either way on whether the Twins will be on screen or not.
Anguirus
^ Tom Kenny voices Wheelie.
Sablebot
I don't believe Bay or Nelson or Paramount one bit. There's plenty of evidence that counters his, Bay's, and Paramount's insistence on the Twins not being in – and if this seems redundant to some of you, so be it:
a)appearance in trailer;
b)appearance of toys;
c)a recent attempt at an interview with TOM KENNY where he declined, saying that Michael Bay is known to make grown men cry, so Tom 'better hurry up and get back to work' recording voice overs;
d)the lie about Megs in ROTF;
e)the claim about no dorky humor in DOTM, though there's been reports of a scene involving Ken Jeong and Shia that sounds just like the "humor" that was in ROTF, especially the scene of a certain character running around with his drawls down in the Smithsonian, and a certain autobot "urinating" in TF1;
*SOME RELATED THINGS THAT STILL MAKE ME HAVE DOUBTS
i)The designs of the Wreckers – WTF????!!!!!! So "elite warriors" = Skeeter, Billy Bob, and Cleetus Redneck????!!!!!!!
ii)The "street smart teenager" description of the two small bots referred to; "street smart teenager" is usually one of those tired hollyweird code words that is a tired-ass euphemism for something else;
iii)the smorgasbord of other tired-ass, no plot-advancing stereotypes and infantile frat boy humor that peppers the other installments
Now on the other hand, if the Twins aren't in it, then here's what I say: GOOD F$#@^&@! RIDDANCE!!!!!!!!!!!
IN the end, I admit that I could be wrong with my suspicions, but I also know that my suspicions have been right before. Will skeptically be seeing the movie when it comes out to find out for myself what the real fing deal (pun intended) is, and, I'll be doing more than just being mad, as TF occupies only a minute fraction of my life, and will also proactively continue creating my own TF characters and stories to counteract what I don't like about the film adaptions in my spare time, or any of the other iterations of the TF universe (especially that whole "Carbombya" nonsense in G1; G1 wasn't perfect either, folks).
