Hasbro is coming big with building blocks, and starting it off with Transformers themed versions. Each contain blocks to build a figure that goes from Robot to Vehicle, and little Kre-on figures, that mimic G1 likenesses (similar to Lego Men, but G1), and humans. Check out some hype for it at Toy Fair. Pics of the inner Kre-O room were not allowed.

damn… 60 bucks is a big pass for me too… not gonna pay more than a leader for these. which sucks, cuz i want those little guys too.
Jarodimus
^ Didn't we learn prices a few days ago? I wanna say Prime is $60. Which is making me reconsider how much I really want those mini-figures. :-/
Lumpy
these keep pulling back in to look at them… i may get Prime, or even more but it ultimately depends on price. but i do love how Prime looks…
Gojira Prime
I actually want to say something about these.
The full-size sets can wither and die for all I care, those mini-figures are awesome.

Not sure if anyone posted this…here are some pics of starscream, BB, and OP

You lost me after the first paragraph.

Total FAIL on hasblow's part! BTR part 2!!!! Go to hell hasBLOW!!!
These look fantastic if they can transform.
These look fantastic if you have to take them apart to transform them.
I'm impressed with all three of these. Can't wait to see what else they have in store.
Do a G1 Sideswipe Hasbro! I'll love you forever!

Ah, so you've got the Quality Detector Vision gene, too?
The Asp
I melt 24k gold ingots into building blocks.
Seriously though, what I meant was these don't look like they're made of 'quality' plastic, you know?
Like the kind of plastic that really cheap KO's are made of.
Jarodimus
What are your Legos made of?
The Asp
Heh, last night I was removing the heads and hands from some junker bots to use with my legos.
Anyway, these look…cheaper, somehow. More 'plasticy' than legos. I hope that's just prototypes/testshots/samples/whatever, and not indicative of the final product.
Still, they look infinitely better than BTR.
DATRAY!!!
They appear to be C-joint compatible. If they are, they just went from [gift for my kid brother] to [buy and keep away from my kid brother].
Primus_feather
what size do you think the mini-figs hands are? We know you can get mini-spartans to ride on 5-mm pegs, are these the same? I'd consider these if I could get the mini-Prime Kre-o to ride his DOTM counterpart!

As a long time transformers fan and an even longer Lego fan. I have to say that the idea of combining the two is one of the coolest things I've ever heard and also a feat I have been trying to accomplish now for years, these kre-o toys basically solve two problems… with Lego like building toys it solves the problem of " okay cool, I built it… now what do I do" by giving kids something to actually play with and transform after they're done building it. With transformers, it solves the battle damage problem. Now if u want pull the characters leg off, it just comes off and can easily be fixed instead of constantly putting wear on the ball joints and eventually having ROTF sideswipe's whole right leg snap off (personal experience.) The only thing that worries me is the quality of these Kre-o's. Anyone who has played with Mega blocks will have a perfect example of Lego immitations crappy material choices. Really I can't wait to see how they turn out

like i said before on another post! Lego could've been sitting on a cashcow if IT had released a Transformers range(it's done well on OTHER movie related themes) but i guess it missed the boat on this one!
megatroptimus
If they do transform, I'm getting them all. I used to love Legos and build my own Transformers. I remember doing a mini-Prime that had all at once a Powermaster, a dual mode Headmaster, a Targetmaster, two different robot modes (like Punch/Counterpunch), two different super modes and a base mode (trailer).

Wait…these are the Bayformer designs…so why do they have the Classics heads…?

Hey Hasbro
Kraken
Kre-O's? What an odd name. Should have called them Has-Blox.
20 years ago I'd have been all over these as I never seemed to have enough Lego Technic pieces to make a decent Transformer. The kids are gonna lap them up I reckon.

Yeah, i'm with Buzz ~ i can't and won't say you're "wrong" per se, but i've never come across any "lego compatible" bricks that basically didn't feel like a KO by comparison.
