Update: Official toy synopsis:
With the upcoming Transformers: Dark of the Moon movie, one of the most iconic characters in the Transformers lore will capture the spotlight as his heroic story becomes the focus of the first-ever 3D Transformers movie. Now, an action figure befitting such an icon will be available with the new Transformers Mechtech Ultimate Optimus Prime action figure. The figure includes the Autobot leader’s classic trailer that doubles as a weapons arsenal and is an integral part of the figure’s converting play pattern. The Mechtech Ultimate Optimus Prime figure features three modes of conversion – vehicle, robot, and robot with “mech suit.” The trailer, which serves as a weapons depot and command center, also converts into a “mech suit” that Optimus Prime shows off when it’s time to rumble. Featuring lights, launching projectiles, electronic battle sounds and Optimus Prime phrases, this is the must-have item for kids and fans alike.

His head is FAR too small, I see it in person today, i was not impressed.

Got mine a few weeks ago… If you have the popeye arms positioned a certain way, they really don't look too terrible… The transformation for trailer & truck are pretty fun & involved as well… Is he as accurate as ROTF leader prime? No, not by a stretch… But was he worth every bit of the $75 I spent on him at Walmart? Yes, he was indeed worth it. In powered up mode, he makes for a great display piece, I have him behind my MP Rodimus & they both compliment each other very well… The lack of leg articulation is a downer, but he has a mean power stance! And overall in hand looks great in vehicle mode, also pleased with the Prime by himself… He's definitely worthy of his own space… As I keep leader Sentinel & leader ROTF Optimus in another area beside each other… It's a great figure IMO, pics make it look far worse than what it really is…

FAIL!

Strange how absolutely no one got their hands on Ultimate Prime yet. Even Sentinel was leaked early, but the only glimpses we get of Ultimus are the official reveals.
Shin Densetsu
The Mech Tech integration and proportions(if "fixed", and not what we saw of it sans armor at Toy Fair) will make/break this thing for me. Seeing the trailer hyped as being some huge ass Mech Tech port without seeing the mech tech weapons on it is like a cake without icing.
An Army of Bees
…is this really necessary? I mean, we'll have good shots of the thing soon enough to settle this debate.
The Bucket Kitten
The sarcasm is strong with this one.
Seriously, most of my hatred is biased due to ROTF Ldr. Optimus Prime, but whatever. I will say he is pretty nice looking, but if OP was more accurate looking, (wheels on his legs, wasn't a twig, lower arms didn't look too much like the truck's nose), I could ignore the "Butterfly suit's" flaws, and besides, it's not like there aren't other figures in the DOTM toyline to buy
Rogzilla
I don't have much experience with Ultra class, but I'd say so, at least in terms of the truck/single robot size. That's assuming my estimates are correct and I could be wrong. I don't think I am but it's possible.
Really? But you were so positive about it earlier in the sentence.
The Bucket Kitten
So…. Shittimus is about the size of a Ultra, and the Butterfly suit is a little under 2 feet in height, interesting, but don't like it.
I'll say this, DOTM Butterfly Prime surely put ROTF Supreme Crapastator too shame.
Movie PRIME
So the return of Ultra class?
Rogzilla
Well, what I did was take the original shots we saw and resized the unarmored Prime until his head was the same size as the armored Prime. The arms and knees lined up too. This made him between 1/2 and 2/3 the rumored 22" of height (mentioned previously in this post) when the wings are folded down.
Yes, the trailer is huge, but again, compare it's length to the length of the truck itself. Not accounting for perspective, the truck is roughly 2/3 the length of the trailer. It looks much smaller because a good portion of that is the bed and the trailer is a large brick, but the length is there in the truck. It'll probably be about to scale with Leader Sentinel Prime.
Also, if the truck has electronics in it (that seems to be the case) it has to be larger than a voyager, that's just too small to fit the batteries and board and speaker unless Hasbro changes up everything.
Like I said, it isn't quite leader size but it isn't a small voyager either.
HoosierDaddy
My guess is mistransformed. I bet there is something that was left out to complete the arms and the top "wings" in combined mode look to me like they are supposed to fold down to give a swept back wing look similar to a fighter jet. But who knows.
Josh
i dont know about all that
i mean, the trailer makes up the bulk of Ultimate Prime's height
if you look there, the knee pads for optimus are right up just under the crotch area
his feet only go to about the knees
even looking at vehicle mode pics from toy fair, that trailer is stinkin H.U.G.E. you wanna know where all them inches of height is coming from? its there. certainly not the optimus figure himself. id say he's around voyager size, give or take a little bit.
course id love to be wrong. i love big toys
Rogzilla
If the Prime alone is "voyager" sized, then I'm a monkey's uncle. If Omega Armored Prime is 22" tall with the wings down, then he is either about 14" or 11" inches tall depending on if the 22" goes to the head or the top of the orange prongs respectively. I'm going to guess the latter.
So he isn't QUITE a Leader (which tends to be about 12" or so) but that's much bigger than a voyager, especially a voyager for this line. The truck I'm guess is about 10" or so, since I'm estimating the trailer is about a foot and a half and the truck is about 2/3s that length.
This is all really un-precise of course, based on the pictures we've seen so far, but I feel pretty confident about it.

I wonder if HFTD Battle Blades Prime will fit inside the trailer armor. I doubt it though, the trailer probably has connection points to hold it on to the Optimus it comes with.
imranbecks
Oh…hahaha.. So I can forget abt combining the trailer with the Leader ROTF Prime…
Josh
the actual optimus prime part of the figure [not the trailer] is about voyager sized so
nemesisconvoy
I just do not understand how ROTF Optimus Prime could have digressed into this….the tractor mode is soo weak and unrealistic!!!
imranbecks
Hmmm.. Gotta say, kinda disappointed.. The only thing good abt it is the trailer… If the trailer is in scale with my ROTF Leader Prime, it would look awesome.. Then I wld get it just for the trailer.. Is the trailer removable in the first place?? Sure hope so, coz if its in scale and its removable, it wld go well with the ROTF Leader Prime…

Holy crap. If this stuff had been around in the 80s, we would have been biting through the front doors of toy stores to get to it.
