If that's the exact same toy as the Japanese prototype, then this is in my top three to-buy figures. In no particular order: DoTM Shockwave, RTS Downshift, and this guy.
Mighty.Maximal
This tiny pic combined with the gray scale one gives us a pretty good idea what the thing looks like.
Ash from Carolina
Really loving that mix of old and new on the figure. Way up there now on my must buy list.
giga-galvatron
Exact same toy except colored.
Wazdakka
Is this the same toy as the one that was on the TFW2005 news just now? The "Prototype Generations Warpath Toy Revealed" or something like that?
Hiraga
Everything about this toy looks sweet. Hasbro is freaking making my year with both Wheeljack and Warpath.
General Magnus
Helo there crossover TF / Halo. How long till a radicon gets this and turns into a Halo Scorpion tank?
And the toy looks great.

Cool find Gamofsteak. Looks like Warpath to me. Whats all the fuss about?

Saw this over on 4chan. Looks like the prototype pictures for the patent.

Nope, it's a completely new figure (Deluxe class too).
Personally I'm sorta hoping that the tank cannon itself doesn't end-up as his chest cannon. I'd rather him have a better looking false-cannon on his chest than the one he's got in alt-mode.
Bumblethumper
Well I probably thought of them more as cars with special features. I was never much into action figures, but I used to love stuff like toy batmobiles and James Bond vehicles with flip-out weapons and ejector seats. There were never any diecast action-figures, so I mentally associated them with my cars and stuff.
What really impresses me, is that transformers have reached the point where they're now more posable than the average action figure. Most other toys are a bit rubbish compared to transformers.
nitewing73
Will definitely pick this one up. Is this a Legends reissue? If that's the case I hope they rerelease Cosmos and Beachcomber.
Bumblethumper
I agree that it was stupid having it sticking so far out like in G1 days. Animated made the same mistake with its design. If he turns around, he's gonna knock stuff over like that.
The Legends class resolved the issue by having the cannon retract into his chest. It's the best solution, it's practical and keeps the G1 look, and I think that's what they'll probably do this time.
cryotek
So getting it. I wandering what the repaint will be.
Sammael
Probably. That's one of Warpath's most distinguishing features.
General Magnus
Am I the only one who hopes he doesn´t get in cannon in the chest? I always thought it was a silly thing designs terms. I mean in combat is fine and all, but can you imagine him walking around while not in combat with a huge poke stick in his chest?
Fort Max
Just had a neat thought, if this has clip points on the shoulders and includes a rocket launcher and minigun then Hasbro could make easy money reusing it in the form of a War Machine homage.
Bonus points if said clip weapons could actually be folded down onto his back.
Anguirus
Very perceptive.
See, when I was a kid, I got Transformers for awhile but I didn't stick with it. I liked action figure lines, such as TMNT, Star Trek, Godzilla, and later Star Wars, better than vehicles that turned into robots with a missile launcher or some other gimmick to distract you from the fact that their legs didn't move independently.
What we have now, and why I'm buying them like a freaking junkie, are action figures that turn into vehicles.
When I realized this about the RotF, and retroactively the Classics lines, there was pretty much no turning back.
bellpeppers
To each his own, right?
Personally, while I think this tank mode looks weak, I really want to see the bot mode.
But to be fair, it would be more proper to see better pics than this little postage stamp.
Bumblethumper
I feel if it's weak in one department, it has to be very strong in the other to make up for it.
For me they are just about equally important. And the transformation itself is important too. I like the transition from one mode to another to be inventive and creative. Posability has never been as important to me as it is to some fans, so long as I can get a relatively decent and stable standing pose out of it it doesn't bother me too much.
The thing is, there are often these big flame wars/disagreements over such a figure is awful or such a figure is amazing, when in actuality different people are judging the same figure with very different sets of criteria. It might meet my priorities perfectly, but fall short on something that is very important to someone else.
