Since I've noticed a lot of people saying this, I'd like to point out that Thunderwing does actually have thigh swivels (they are right where the gold on his legs starts). It's probably the tightest joint on him, but give the leg a good twist and it should turn on that joint.
My only gripe with the toy is that the pegs on the guns seem a bit big. It doesn't take much to knock them off of the wings.
Well that settles it. I was attempting to not pick this guy up and used the excuse that the lack of a thigh swivel would upset me. With this new knowledge my situation worsens.
if it's there that complaint is gone. The reason a lot of didn't think it was there is that Optibotimus said in his review that it wasn't there.
Still think theres room for them to have added a transforming minicon. At the very least they could have gotten rid of his guns and made the drone be a targetmaster with a gunmode that looks like the current drone design with a handle on it. Definitely grabbing him though.
Honestly, it is an easy joint to miss. The joint is pretty tight, and it turns in the ball joint a lot easier than the swivel joint.

That excuse doesn't make much sense, he doesn't seem to have as many moving parts as most figures do these days. I mean, he doesn't even have thigh swivels. I don't see where the budget went.
Oh well, he does look good, I'd definitely grab the upgrade you mentioned. I also think a matrix that fit inside his chest and could be held in his hands would be a good add on as well.

I kinda wish they just made Thunderwing a Uni. Silverbolt remold like his Shattered Glass appearance.
This weapons are based on his oversized cannons from the marvel comics, a lot more so then his original toy weapons (which probably would've fit the size of the mold a lot better. Also Silverbolt was the worst jet-former I've ever seen. His entire robot mode minus the head is clearly visible on the undercarriage of the vehicle mode, and his trasformation could barely be called that. Silverbolt seemed like a figue that was meant to be a Deluxe class but got blown up to Ultra (similar to Cybertron Starscream originally being designed as a voyager and then blown up to supreme-class). Thunderwing may still have the 'bot mode on undercarriage' design but at least hey found unique ways to incorporate his legs and head, and even the arms can be rotated so they look more like extra bulk with laser guns on them (he has guns on his shoulders and smaller, potentially missile pods, down on the back of his forearms). Generations Thunerwing = 10x what Universe Silverbolt was.
Though he does seem somewhat stocky even for his class. Both Generations Cybertron Megatron and Darkmount/Straxus have a full head height advantage. Not sure about other classic style deluxes as most of my collection is not on hand. My only complaint about his vehicle mode is that it looks more like an earth jet then a cybertronian space fighter. A minor quivel, though.
So, no way to attach the drone to the guns? Couldn't watch the whole review, was multi-tasking. Looks great! Robot mode is alright but the vehicle mode and weapons are well done.
Not that I've found. The pegholes on the drone are about twice as far apart as the posts on the guns.
