In addition to the Transformers items revealed, 2005 Boards member D-Drive has also sent us an image of a new, upcoming Star Wars/Transformers Crossovers figure. This figure will transform from a Venator-class Star Destroyer to Clone Pilot and will be part of the Star Wars Transformers 2010 Wave 3 Assortment. Although not specifically mentioned in the assortment listing, this figure will be available in the assortment.

I got that toy today at my local W-M. Ewww. It's by far the smallest SWTF ever and it probably has the laziest design and transformation too. Turn the ship around, the entire robot is visible there. It's like the Universe Silverbolt of the SWTF line, minus the quality and the gimmicks.

I think these crossover lines have a few semi nice ones. Usually the Star Wars ones at least have nice vehicles. Some are very good, but this looks like crap. The Marvel ones are definitely hit or miss.
I wish they'd do Transformers GI Joe Crossovers with Transformers turning into GI Joe/ Cobra vehicles from the Classics. Or make them generic robots. I'd love a Classics Hiss Tank transformer or a Rattler.

The X-Wing is probably one of the worst SWTF out there… that thing can barely stand up…

Just to correct myself then, it is Lieutenant Thire, not Commander.
In package pictures for anyone interested:
All my toys stay MISB so I can't give too much of a review but, I will say that I think this is one of the better Star Wars crossover molds of recent history. Yes, there is a big huge 'cannon' sticking out of the bridge but if you don't like it, then just don't but the missile in there!
The cruiser itself is fairly faithful and has plenty of details to it with a whole cluster of engines to the rear and that distinctive cruiser shape. Surprisingly, there wouldn't appear to be much kibble left behind after transformation with maybe just the engines behind the figure's head looking a little out of place. Top marks for using the bridge/cannon as Thire's weapon so that there is one less piece of kibble to go around and, in the end, it does look very gun-like.
My only reservation for this is how many repaints are we going to see of it given how many Lieutenants and Commanders there are in the Star Wars universe that this can be repainted in to…

"Well, stay here and rot, you stuck-up bitch"
haha… classic.
Chaos Muffin
Yes. Finally some damn SD's

The only Star Wars Transformers crossovers that ever impressed me were the Millenium Falcon and the Death Star. Those were very nicely done.
I have picked up a couple smaller ones and did not like them at all. They felt cheap, quick to fall apart, and a few had no balance whatsoever. Those who own some of these will quickly agree that there is a big gap in quality between the larger and smaller star wars crossovers.
Had this Star Destroyer been one of the larger scale ones as it should have been, I would have picked this up without thinking twice.

They play Jazz in the Cantina on Mos Eisley and Jawa Sand Crawlers have Tracks Star Wars' story takes place across many Generations.

I find it curious that they seem to have such a dislike for making Original Trilogy vehicles I don't think the Snow Speeder was ever a Shelfhugger.
As has been mentioned above the size and feel of them is quite similar to Galloob's groovy Star Wars Action Fleet line.
That line had some vehicles of similar size i'd love to see as Crossovers such as a Tie Defender, B-Wing, E-Wing, Sand Crawler, A-Wing & a Battle of Yavin style Y-Wing.
I'd also like some Beasts such as a Dewback & a Bantha.
I agree also that the Star Destroyer idea would have been nice to see in a larger scale I suppose it would be difficult to make a Eclipse/Emperor Transformer look cool though.
But if they plan to make more capital ships at the normal size i'd like Admiral Akbar as a Mon Cal ship and i'd like Vader, Booster Terek (sp?), Admiral Piet (Sp?) or Grand Admiral Thrawn as a super Star Destroyer, and something that changed into a Trade Federation Droid Control ship.
Midsized ships like a Republic Transport or the Tantive IV would also be good.
If they wanted to get obscure they could make Mara Jade as Jade's Shadow or a Z-95 Headhunter, Prince Vizor as Virago, and Dash Rendar as Outrider and finally Vader's apprentice "Starkiller" as his vessel.
If they whole line is just obsessed with the clone wars cartoon i'd find that slightly lacking in imagination and also they'd be missing out on some of the coolest ship designs.
BigRC83
…so how about Generations Tracks and Jazz?
Tigermegatron
out of the dozens they made. the only 2 I like & bought was the death star moon/planet transforming into darth vader & that general grievious transforming into his space ship.
Personally I just don't like the skinny stick limbs on most of them.
I will agree that the clone troopers various alt mode figures are the best of the lot.
ComicGuy89
That would be very much appreciated! If you could post a review in the feedback section, it would be superb!
General Magnus
This should have been a voyager at least.

To be accurate, the character this transforms in to is Commander Thire. I picked this one up about two weeks ago now so I'll try and get some in package pictures posted up for you all in a few hours once I get home from work…
Bgrngod
If they do shelfwarm, they do so in the Star Wars section so I'm not sure what you think would change if they got rid of them.
More Star Wars stuff probably.
Bandobras
I would have possibly been interested if this was a large detailed mold like the Death Star but as it is, it looks pretty weak.
I've only bought a few of these, mostly on clearance, and mostly to fill my nostalgia for the old Micro Machines Action Fleet toys. Some of them are pretty nice in alt mode.
I was thinking for a while of getting a clearanced AT-TE and making a custom Classics Bombshell out of it (the transformation is already similar, just cut the guns of the from the top ball turrets and paint them yellow for eyes, make the bottom two turrets into articulated pincers, attach the big gun to the front somehow for Bombshell's head-spike-cannon thing…). Maybe I still will, but if there are any industrious Radicons out there I'd love to see a good version.
ThaConqueror
Looks pretty good. The butt plate looks like it'd get in the way of the legs, but otherwise the articulation looks fine, and it isn't as kibble-tastic as some of the other SWTF's.
It seems that I'm one of the few Crossovers fans here. Or am I just being uncharacteristically pessimistic?
(Holy crap I spelt those last two words right on the first try)
ComicGuy89
Actually I believe that these are designed by the Star Wars team, or at the very least by the American TF Team. As such, the resources from mainline TFs are hardly taken away by these Crossovers because Takara has no connection with them. If you look for these figures in stores, they are never placed in the Transformers section, but rather in either the Marvel Superheroes or the Star Wars sections.
On the contrary, I actually think that Hasbro should put more effort into these toys, maybe let Takara have a crack at them. The resulting quality might be astounding.
EDIT: Anguirus beat me to it. Good show!
Anguirus
Yeah that's not how it works at all. "Real" TFs are designed by Takara, who has nothing to do with these. There is unlikely to be a cause-and-effect relationship there.
In fact the brand as a whole may benefit from how successful this line is.
Jukebox Prime
Eh, definitely better than most of this line that has come out recently, but still not great. I got the Millenium Falcon/Han/Chewie and was fairly pleased. Got the Death Star/Darth Vader and was actually impressed ($16! One of my favorite Ebay wins to date). Then I got the Jedi Starfighter/Obi-Wan and wondered why…
Seems like they've all gone down hill from there. With this one looks like they're making some improvement, but they still have a way to go (and not many more iconic ships left) if they want this line to keep going.
