G1 Devs is far too small. Movie Devs doesn't have robot modes for the component vehicles. So it took an independent to do him right. That's awesome!

sorry i had just finished reading the entire thread hoping there was something new in there, and i was dissapointed. i shouldn't have posted. we both know that there would be a new thread and it would be on the front page if there was anything new.

Gah! Stop bumping this post with pointless babbling! It keeps shooting up from the page bottom, and it keeps making me think that there's been an update!

That one pic is still all we get. When do we get to see more

what a tease… then nothing.
Thundershot
Also considering that tax season is coming up, and if timed right, they could make a killing on these things…
mx-01 archon
That said, I'd kinda like to know when I can start looking forward to these, if only to give my impatience some reassurances, rather than just being nebulously anxious .
Thundershot
Okay, maybe one every six months might be pushing it…
Maybe they should do one at a time, every other month or so, and then when they're done, do a boxed set with some bonus stuff for those that want to wait…
Valkysas
I'm for whatever the fuck they want to do that lets them do it. I can be patient.
Pun-3X
Yeah, I'm for the one-shot. My greatest worry is what's already been mentioned; what if they release three, and then something comes up and they stop. Could be ANYTHING that brings them to a halt (real life takes precedence). So nah, I'd like all at once.
Perhaps they can do both. Gift set for some of us, one-at-a-time releases for others. And they would release the singles on a schedule for those that want to do it that way.
Okay, that's likely not feasible. But IF it's going to be one at a time, then the whole thing should be out in 6 months. Not 6 months in between each. Or two at a time, or something.
*votes for giftset!*
Foster
Lack of profit or interest?
I don't see that being a problem, here. But I would prefer to buy the whole thing in one shot.
Wyvern
Lol. Cold blooded.
But I agree. A gift set is the way to go.
BraveMax
Not to mention… What guarantee do we have that these guys will even exist in three years? How much would it suck to pay $60/each for the first three, only to have the company just die from lack of profit or interest?
Screw that. Release them all at once, or don't release them. People have had enough warning – they can afford to save a few dollars here and there every month in case this thing is ridiculously expensive. Hell – probably good practice for most people on this board anyways.
sifu74
Just release all of them by Christmas, my wallet is waiting for this set. People that wants this every six months because they can't afford it all at once, oh well, not everyone can afford everything.

Given the nature of Gestalts, though, it's hard to imagine that the whole thing is being engineered piecemeal. You can't start with an arm, only to realize further down the road that the legs won't be able to support the weight in a practical manner, and so on.
So I don't think we have to worry about evolving design sensibilities, so much.
Valkysas
They very likely have all of them roughly designed already. There wouldn't be much of a difference in their engineering.
exomega255
I agree with Wyvern. Toy Engineering changes really quickly, really fast. As we can see from the toylines of say, 2005 vs. 2010, there is quite a difference. I would prefer consistency.
Wyvern
See, the problem with that is that by the time they get to the sixth member, by then they would have perfected the craft designing and building these figures. So we could be faced with the problem of having the engineering in the laft figures being way superior to the engineering of the first figures. I would hate owning a mismatched set of constructions.
Nexus prime took forever to come out but it was just a repaint of an already existing set of molds.
See this would be a better solution if we'd have to wait that long. Just as long as the figures get release at once.
Cast
Agreed, lets give them time to do this right. Also for all we know they might put them all out at once, just 3 years from now.
Sol Fury
If it meant the highest quality product imaginable though, wouldn't a longer wait between parts be preferable? Give the creators involved time to properly design each member of the team.
I mean, we waited five years for Nexus Prime. What's three for a Devastator, a higher level character that many fans want to see done properly and in a style worthy of the name?
