Of course, we will have to wait and see how these will sell, but various robots that can turn into bigger robots by mixing and matching them with the 'accessoires'? I actually think this line can be a hit.
There's nothing wrong with the toy concept here. Maybe the execution is a bit lackluster in some of our eyes, but the concept itself is actually a really firm one I believe.
I've posted this a few times in a few places, but you hit the nail right on the head here. Not all of the individual sets are stellar, but get a few and start messing around with them and you start getting some cool stuff (see attached pic). I can only imagine the kinds of things that'll be pulled off when all 6 combiners and 9 scouts are released.
I understand the fiddly concept of an action figure, but I just don't see the value beyond figures that most kids will enjoy the robot and toss the accessories, or bust them beyond recognition.
A great video made up of terrible toy concepts. Yep, it's a Peaugh video alright!
Then I think you don't 'get' the Power Core Combiners.

As for kids destroying everything they get their greasy hands on: true! But since these drones lack robot modes, I reckon they will be less prone to breaking or losing parts.
Well… at this point it all hinges on the price for me… If those limbs put the price up too high on these little fellows I'll pass on them… I only like the main robot.
im disgusted with these its not a combiner its a tf with zords combiners have a team with independant transformations like menasor and others this is nothing more then taking a power rangers prime and and putting that on to others. It would of been nicer if they made them all have good tf mods and not be the way they are in these.
Thats my opnion on thats and everyones welcome to theirs agree or disagree im not in the slightest bit interested in some of the new ones as they seem to have become lazy at times on some items.
Nice review, Peaugh, but crap toys. I was originally really stoked about the PCC line, but the more I see it, the more I'm positive I won't be buying anything.
Still, I can see them being popular with the target market, kids. And I know a bunch of the naysayers will end up buying some and changing their minds…it always happens.

I like how there's already some obvious mixing and matching of the limbs if you want. Like if you want your torso to have two spindly arms, each of the wave 1 gestalts has one, same for the opposite, bulkier arms.
I will say that the more I play with them the mixing and matching is honestly kind of fun. My current fave is Searchlight as the torso, blue helicopter and white a-10 looking jet limbs from Skyburst, and the armored car and grey tank from Bombshock.

I'm not even saying the drones are gonna have personalities and talk, at least like the Transformers with robot bodies. Look at Roller, who only chirps and beeps.
I could be wrong, and the PCCs' portrayal in official fiction (if it happens) may become the biggest steaming pile of crap ever. But hey, if they were featured in a way that appeals to the "serious collectors"? We'd be all over these sets.
I don't know, I always approch a new series expecting the worst, then if it is ok and good it is all the better. I am just making a prediction, I am still gonna be watching Prime for sure

No, when i said "This is why I collect Transformers", the word 'this' was referring to the Skyburst combiner.
Sorry if I didn't make that clear enough.
Oh sorry I misunderstood as these Power Core guys could just as easily be left in the package or put on display. The thing that actually bugs me about this fella is that they remove posability and options of transforming the "drone" units which, to me at least, is the soul of the fun playing with Transformers.
Oh eeeewwwww, if they are characters in the show? I predict if they are in the show the drones will talk and be the "hilarious" comedy relief, i.e. annoying as hell, and who were they trying to appeal to when G1 devs came out? Kids. Why does Hasbro have to assume kids are stupid… ok well I go to the mall and I could see how they get that impression, but come on. The kids and collectors deserve better.

TOYS that I can have fun fiddling around with, as opposed to the mostly boring articulated statues that are bought, opened (or worse, kept misb), and simply placed on a shelf, never to be touched or played with, by most 'fans'.

Being "freaking lazy" would be if they rehashed the same combination system that was the hallmark of most of the G1 combiners, using the same G1 molds.
This wasn't them being "lazy". It was them trying something different. PCC apparently is not going to appeal to "serious collectors", but if this line still sells, it just further proves Hasbro's point that we as a market don't affect their profit margin either way.
And how do we know that these guys aren't going to appear in a TV show? For all we know they could be part of the character roster in that upcoming Transformers toon on the Hub.

Skyburst is what Energon Storm-Jet wishes he was. Stable, holds together, hiding his combiner pieces…
I like the way the Helicopter arm transforms. It reminds me of the "Devastator concept" that was presented to the movie staff for how a combination would work.
Just a helicopter flying into that combined form and a hand erupting out. I love it.
I like how Skyburst hides his combiner pegs in uncombined bot mode. Even looking beyond that, the colors don't clash too badly either. I think I'm probably going to paint the pegs on each figure to fit the overall scheme better.
BTW, I can't wait to see your upcoming Dlx Ironhide review, Peaugh.

For those asking, yes, Skyburst can Gerwalk.
I'm going to throw together a general feedback thread for the PCC line later tonight now that I've had a few days to mess with them.

I personally prefer Skyburst and company to Bombshock and I think they all look nice. Should be fun to fiddle with them, and I'm all for smaller toys.

So far the only Power Core toy I would get is Searchlight.
